  1. Locks???? I think not... If the Bills beat the Pats then this division is officially up for grabs. San Diego isn't better than the Raiders. Do you think they are? Houston? The Titans just beat the big bad Ravens so the Texans are no lock. Jets, Ravens and Steelers all have looked a little bit shaky two games in.
  2. The difference between this team and the past 15 in a row that have lost to the Pats is that this one knows it's good and truly believes that they will beat a very good (yet still flawed) Pats team. All Gailey has to say is "the Patriots are here…they think they're better than you, you think you're better than them, nothing will matter but the final score…let's go."
  3. I really feel that this is the first Buffalo Bills team Belichick has true concerns over since he's been the head coach for the Pats. I also have the feeling that he's more concerned with the Bills than he is with the Jets in this division. The Jets offense is horrid. Seriously, how badly does he wish he had Fred Jackson.
  4. Go in peace Bills brother, you have been fully absolved. I had faith, but of course being a Bills fan there was doubt over there hanging on my other shoulder. I just thought that something clicked in for Fitzpatrick at the end of the 2009 season that was carrying over into 2010. This 2011 start is truly amazing and beyond even my high expectations. I hate to say it so soon into the season, but he really has the look of someone who's arrived as a franchise QB. Here's hoping we thoroughly enjoy watching the confirmation of Fitzpatrick in this regard the rest of the season and beyond.
  5. Hey Promo, remember this thread?...LOL http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/121711-bills-fans-should-take-ryan-fitzpatrick-seriously/ Ouch, I just hurt my shoulder patting myself on the back! Hey, I'm glad you finally came around to my line of thinking.
  6. If the Bills don't put Brady on his butt, I think they'll end up losing. As good as our offense is (and it's been awesome so far), it's essential that Brady gets sacked and pressured up the middle if the Bills want to win this one.
  7. Well to be fair, the 0-15 record was forged by many a Bill team before these guys, and the point spread isn't a stat. Make no mistake though, these players KNOW what the point spread is so Gailey doesn't even have to go there. But I do think highlighting that 0-15 record will provide the team an extra motivational boost to beat the Pats for the first time in 15 games at home in front of 80,000 crazy Bills' fans. That crowd will be like a rocket on a launch pad just ready to take off.
  8. If I were Gailey, I'd simply write "0-15" on the chalkboard. In big bold letters. This team clearly likes to be challenged. Is there any bigger challenge then the Pats' 15 game winning streak?
  9. I was at a bar at the jersey shore and in the fourth quarter when the Bills would huddle up, during the most crucial plays, I would just look out and stare at the ocean. My attempt at trying to give the Bills (and myself) as much "zen" energy as possible…LOL Side note: a Raider fan sitting two seats away from me went totally ballistic in the fourth quarter. After the final play he jumped out of his seat screaming and the Jet/Giant fans proceeded to give him the one finger salute. He gave the salute back and left mumbling to himself like a madman! I gotta say, watching his facial expressions during that fourth quarter was priceless . It was weird, everyone in the bar was cheering like crazy when the Bills scored. It was on every tv by that point.
  10. I'm confused about this thread. I went to ProFootballFocus.com and saw that this was a site about fantasy football. Given Fitzpatrick's performance last week, weren't they wrong in their analysis? Fiztpatrick passed for 4 TDs and didn't have any interceptions. I don't do fantasy football but isn't that a lot of points for your league team? What am I missing here?
  11. This post is ridiculous. The Raiders have little to lose in a defeat...they're on the road, it's a non division game, it's early in the season. They have a very good defense and a very good running game. They will not have half the pressure that the Bills will have since this is a home game and the fans expectations have risen to epic proportions as proven by your post. The Raiders can play fast and loose tomorrow. If the Bills don't play with the same focus and intensity that they came with last week, they will most definitely lose this game. Count on it.
  12. As tempting as it is to talk about the Pats game, I just can't bring myself to do it. It's as if you guys are daring the football gods to give the Bills a loss against the Raiders. Maybe fans just aren't as superstitious anymore. I think the Raider game will be a tough fought game. They have a good defense and a great running back. They have a very good head coach. They're a bunch of brawlers. This talking about the Pats game is bad mojo. This Raider game will be close, count on it. Which means that it is no "gimmi", no "put it in the win column". You'll have plenty of time talking about the Pats during Pats week.
  13. Simply put, a loss to the Raiders will be all the proof needed to the people who proclaimed 'KC just wasn't a good team' after the Chiefs lost to the Bills. I know that winning should be all the motivation needed, but I don't necessarily believe that's always the case in professional sports. I think all of the best teams/players need to have that feeling they're being dissed in one form or another to perform at their top level. The Pats do it, Jordan did it. Here's hoping that the Bills' coaches and leaders are using the "you've been dissed" card to it's fullest advantage. Because they really have been dissed by the "KC is a bad team" and the sheer lack of national Bills chatter in favor of Pats, Pats, Pats…Jets, Jets, Jets… Of course you want them to have the motivation of winning the game, but you also want them to play with an attitude that the other team said some real bad things about their mommas. They need to bring that same attitude that they had last week.
  14. I've tried to listen a couple of times through internet feeds and can never last beyond 5 minutes. Who's the guy that talks like Sylvester the cat? Whoever that guy is, he's the biggest idiot I've ever heard on a sports radio station. He's embarrassingly bad and it's not because of his lisp. He has 0 skills in critical thinking. I live in NJ and listen to a lot of WFAN (NYC) and The Fanatic (Philly) and the difference in competence between these stations and WGR is staggering. I literally cringe when sampling shows from WGR. It's as if the biggest idiot poster from TSW somehow got his own daily show because he had compromising pictures of the station owner. It's too bad that some of the former players who still live in Buffalo and who actually have a brain couldn't be brought in to host a daily show. Or maybe even a competent fan from TSW that lives in Buffalo. The past two years WFAN has had a contest where the winner gets his own 2 hour overnight show for a year. WGR should something like that pronto. I'd bet they'd find at least 50 people who were better than what they have now.
  15. What's funny is that the Patriots remind me a lot, and I mean A LOT of the Dan Marino era Dolphins. All passing, no defense, no running game. To me, the Bills look to have a much more balanced team. However, Tom Brady plays like Dan Marino on steriods.
  16. I can understand the national "experts" not paying much attention to the Bills and thus not comprehending that the Bills could be a good team. What I don't get are the idiot media people of Buffalo and some of the fans as well. Going off of what I saw this weekend, the Bills will have a real shot at this division. Of course that's just based on the first weekend, so it can all go to you-know-what if they lose to the Raiders. That being said, off of what I saw, they have a real shot at the division. I just hope that this team keeps making these local people look like simpletons who have no concept of what a good football team even looks like...LOL
  17. I feel that the people who had correctly pointed out that Fitzpatrick and the new additions on defense would provide the basis for a turnaround season should be granted some gloating rights today after a ridiculous blowout in KC. I haven't done it (yet), but I might have to if the pessimists start talking down this group again. There are no absolutes about any NFL team until about 6 weeks in. I think we Bills fans can focus on the positives we saw while discussing the dreaded "let down" possibility of next week's game. It's so great to have this feeling that something very special is brewing from the ground up. They had better no blow it all with a loss next week...LOL
  18. Contestant: "I'll take 'Something a Complete Loser Might Say' for 200 Alex." Alex: "They actually believed they were going to be good, which counts for something." Contestant: "Who is Jerry Sullivan?" Alex: "Correct!"
  19. I think this first game will give everyone, the pessimists and the optimists, a pretty good indication as to what kind of season the Bills will have. You can not lose to KC and expect a good season. However, if they do win that game this team just might get on a roll. I do have a good feeling about this bunch of guys we have this year. Not sure why, I just do.
  20. Well if that's the case, no one would care...LOL
  21. Give you a break? How about giving us a break? I was not mean to you in any way in my response and I did tell you exactly how it is. There was no sugar coating. The numbers don't lie. I also stated that he needs to show us more. The number of starts from when their career's started to the "light coming on" with Brees and Fitzpatrick are nearly identical. Look it up. Though Brees' numbers were better in his first good year, Fitzpatrick still had shown big improvement in 2010 and that he has starting level talent (which is still on the upswing btw). Also Brees had LT, a defense, a TE, an OL. I'm not saying he has Brees level talent, but I do think Fitzpatrick very well could have Eli Manning level talent and that was obviously good enough for the Giants to beat the 17-0 Patriots. We will all see what happens in 2011. He either does it or the Bills draft a QB in 2012. So there really should be no hand wringing in regards to the Bills' QB situation.
  22. There's no professional sports learning curve greater than that of becoming a winning, championship calibre NFL quarterback. There are many QBs who's curve was a long one, yet were able to have it click in and win their team a Superbowl. Kurt Warner and Drew Brees are just two off the top of my head that I could mention. I suggest you go and compare Fitzpatrick's 2010 season to all the other ones. Fitzpatrick was clearly a different player. It was clear that "the light came on." So your pessimism seems somewhat unwarranted. I could see if he played like crap half the time then you'd have a good point. But he didn't. He kept them in nearly every game and this was without a defense, a running game, a tight end…ect. Fitzpatrick now has to take the progressional next step and start beating good teams, beating rivals like the Jets and Pats. This is what I'm expecting him to do and if he can't do it then the Bills will no doubt be drafting a QB with their first pick next year.
  23. "Although you’d never know it listening to the ranters, the past year has actually been a pretty good test of the theory that slashing government spending actually creates jobs...And somehow the private sector hasn’t responded to these layoffs by rejoicing at the sight of a shrinking government and embarking on a hiring spree." Someone should challenge this buffoon to find one "ranter" of note on the right who had stated that cutting government jobs would create more jobs in the private sector. More lies and distortions. For the left, be they in politics or the MSM, when you can't argue your points on the merits, you just make !@#$ up. Maybe Krugman did hear someone on the right explain that if a state like New Jersey (were I live) were able to cut state and property taxes, then DOWN THE ROAD businesses might come back after finding it welcoming for job creators. But this is not something that happens in one freaking year! This is a 5 to 10 year process. Not only that, it seems that no one in business is hiring because they don't know what their long term costs are dealing with obamacare. But maybe that's a bit too nuanced of a concept for this narrow minded flea Krugman to understand.
  24. Pass the biggest job killing bill ever, then lie your ass off. Because not only will the MSM not blame you, they'll help promote your gigantic lies. BTW, the biggest lie ever foisted on America by the MSM was that Bush was to blame for the economic downfall. That's like blaming an alcoholic's downfall on their spouse. I was never a fan of Bush, but his problem was he acted like a concerned spectator instead of president. Too weak of a leader to stop the subprime mortgage bundling money train between the dem cronies and wallstreet. Bush played his part, but after the wars he was in no position and had no cache left to touch the subprime mortgage issues. It annoys me how successful the MSM was in pinning the whole economic downfall on Bush. It's the only thriving economy left in this country. The feeling of their being disconnected is beyond palpable at this point.
  25. The bubble people living in Washington and New York are so completely and utterly out of touch it's truly amazing. If "the stimulus worked" is going to be their message going forward then let the left go ahead and sink themselves. The rest of this country is going through horrific economic times right now. You can see it in the polls. Americans are very angry at where this country is and where it's currently heading. Another "sugar high" stimulus is not what's needed, repealing obamacare is. What the left and the MSM won't dare admit is that obamacare is the dagger in this non-recovery. What they still don't know is how angry and bad off Americans are right now. That bubblehead's idiot boss has 0 shot at getting reelected. He's Jimmy Carter on steroids.
