Inner city youth mob attacks continue…
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why do I get the feeling you'd be singing a different tune if white people were pulling black people out of their cars screaming that "it's beat on blacky night"? You have a very warped, strange and double standard view of what racism is. You seem like a well behaved government robot though. Can you expand your mind enough to know that these people were innocent victims of violent racist attacks? That it is a pretty sick thought they aren't being reported on by the MSM because of this double standard you're helping to perpetuate? Your want of sweeping these incidents under the rug will only foster resentment, anger and eventual hatred between the races. What you're doing is not helping, but hurting the situation. -

Hence the reason why the MSM doesn't cover these stories. I guess it's also brought out the people who think it best we ignore violent acts of hate crimes because the victims are white and the ones who are perpetrating them might be offended. We should be good little citizens and only cover stories approved by the government run MSM. Got it. -

Thanks to political correctness, all of the national networks (including the conservative Fox News) are afraid of reporting on the growing number of incidents involving black people perpetrating violent, racially charged attacks on white people for fear of racial accusations. I have no doubt that the tipping point for this can all be traced back to Obama and Holder's gutless decision not to prosecute the black panthers in Philly. -
I thought for a second about using the adjective "colossal", however I pulled back feeling it's been used so often describing the failure of Obama that it's starting to lose it's effect....LOL
-
When I mentioned "that failure" I was talking about Obama.
-
It's going to really suck badly having to support that failure this coming year and a half. I don't feel sorry for you, I just thought I'd point it out.
-
Oh please. Just because she's on the correct side of many views doesn't mean that she's the person who will get the nomination. Bachman's never been a governor and has no shot at getting the nomination. Reason being is that the main argument against Obama this next presidential campaign year is that he was and still is an amateur. A Bachman nomination completely nullifies ALL of that ammunition. Bachman has no shot at winning the nomination. None. Zilch. Nada. We need a proven decision maker, not a yapper this time.

The big liberal lie (that lost it's mojo a full year ago) is that the mess was Bush's fault. The 30 year liberal agenda of pushing mortgages on people who couldn't afford them and lack of basic oversight on wallstreet was the main cause of the mess. Bush was just the guy in charge when the bottom fell out. Obama took a mess and created an epic disaster. America lost theirs collective minds voting for such an rank amateur in Obama. Not only is he an amateur, he will surely go down as the laziest president we've ever had. He's either on the golf course, on vacation, at a ritzy celeb party or on the campaign trail. American's have finally clued into the fact that he simply doesn't like to work. With the exception of a few people, almost everyone who works in congress doesn't like to work, that's why they become congressmen. Those people are the laziest workers in America. When I heard that Obama voted "present" 128 times in the state senate I laughed and said that this guy can't even do the lazy man's job of simply voting!...LOL
-
Get real. After the Obama disaster, you won't see another person from congress get their party's nomination for at least fifty years. This is a real job, amateurs need not apply. We need a decision maker, not another talker.

I know you didn't mean it this way, but this reads like sarcasm to me. Three mediocre talents left the Bills recently…Evans, Posluzny, Whitner…with still a somewhat large contingent of supporters here. Now Kelsay? What is going on with you fans? Seriously, why are your standards so low? Why do you support such mediocre players? Don't you want the Bills to be good, get in the playoffs, win a superbowl?

This post from a Baltimore fan says it all

Lee has averaged only 4.75 TD catches per season the last four years. So the answer to that question is yes. Look no further than Stevie Johnson who was a seventh round pick. This team has a bunch of WRs drafted fourth and beyond who have real shots at outproducing Evans...Marcus Easley was drafted in the 4th and he looks like he's the real deal. Roosevelt and Nelson were undrafted rookies yet looked great last year. I could see anyone of those guys having over 5 TD catches. Though I've always liked Evans, I'm stoked that he's gone. To me he was the best of the Bills' "never living up to their billing" players over the last decade. Was he ever a top 10 receiver in the league? But that's what we as fans were expecting from him. This whole past decade we've watched guys never quite get to the level where we thought they'd get to. So Lee was a quality guy on and off the field, but I could never get past looking at him and wonder why he never became our Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald. -
Anyone see Iowa debate ?
1billsfan replied to drinkTHEkoolaid's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I know hypothetically speaking, it would seem that way. However, if she played her cards right I could see Palin rolling over him. I definitely wouldn't bet against her. Other than Romney, I see nothing but losers in that bunch. -

The more I see of these candidates, the more I hope Sarah Palin joins the race. Except for Romney, they all seem a little crazy to me, especially Rick Perry. He's the guy that Stanley Kubrick would choose as the man to play a psycho politician. I'd love to see it come down to a battle between Romney and Palin. -
In general, I think a lot of people here have a bit of a distorted opinion about Evan's worth. I understand why, but the reality check is that Evans' average TD catches per season the last four years was 4.75 and his catch total average was 69 per season. So as an NFL GM, would you give up a prized 3rd round pick for him? Not only that, but these GMs have to answer to the media and fans when Evans fails to live up to how much that pick is worth. 3rd round guys are very cheap and are generally regarded as having enough talent to become pro bowlers. There was no way they were getting a 3rd for him. If you want to see getting nothing for a player, look at what the Giants got for Steve Smith.
-
Ask yourself this question. Exactly how good is a guy who could only garner a fourth round pick? Evans is a one trick pony. Always has been, always will be. He couldn't teach them speed, he couldn't teach them how to go over the middle (since he almost never did). This was a great move by the Bills. This team had a logjam at the receiver position and this is an addition by subtraction move. Now we can enjoy watching Easley, Roosevelt, Smith, Nelson get on the field and make opposing defensive backfields nervous because these guys aren't afraid of going over the middle. They always knew where Evans was going.

Bulldog (WGR) is losing his sh_t :D

Lee Evans is like a lot of our highly drafted over the last decade. He's never really lived up to the top billing. Has he been the best of the bunch? Absolutely and by a wide margin! However, and for whatever the reasons why, he has never been a top 5 bring it each and every game #1 guy. Evans is a gem of a guy and a very good Bill on the field and off, but the Bills would do well to get a good draft pick for him and break the log jam of young WR talent on the team. I think it'd be a win win for both clubs. -
There's an interesting word coming out of Bills camp

When you have an offense where everyone truly knows theirs roles and the group has a ton of confidence in each other, you have two of the four ingredients for what makes an explosive combination. The other two ingredients are talent (which I believe is there but still has some convincing to do), and the last is the "go for the throat" attitude during games against top competition (we're talking Pats and Jets here). -
Wow, anybody see the cover of this rag?... http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2011/08/07/newsweek-puts-picture-michele-bachmann-cover-makes-her-look-crazy What happened to all of the angelic covers of Obama? I haven't seen one of those in a long time. Herman Cain given the OJ cover treatment in 3, 2, 1...?

Leave it to Iowa to back yet another person without executive experience for the office of the Presidency of the United States. Because Americans following Iowa's lead turned out so awesome the last time around!
-
Well this is pretty much the case for every starting QB in the NFL not in the top 5-7 range.
-
Fitzpatrick made a huge jump from being a perennial backup to becoming a top 15 QB. I think he can take the next jump into the top 10. I really think that he can become as good as Eli Manning (but he has to prove he has that kind of game this year). This team looks like they are trying to use the Giants' blueprint of winning the superbowl. Fearless leader QB in Fitzpatrick, tough runner in Jackson, attacking defense with Dareus and Merriman, very good looking athletic group of receivers. If things fall into place I can see this team earning one of the wildcard spots.
-
Ryan Fitzpatrick has a vice grip-like hold on the starters job. He didn't come all the way from a 7th round afterthought pick to a top 15 NFL QB just to let a journeyman guy take it away from him. I know that we Bills fans are used to drama filled QB situations, however this is not one of those.

Thanks man, it's cool that we can agree on something...

I think once you break the cycle and empower the poor individual with a decent paying job, a sense of purpose and responsibility, the single parent family aspect would eventually take care of itself. I think for the most part, it's the governmental assistance that's the boot on the neck of the poor breaking free from the cycle.
-
Three things, one is parental guidance, another are the horrible educational systems in the poorer communities and the third is decades of liberal entitlement policies which have helped keep much of the black population in a perpetual state of the need for governmental assistance. It's a shame that generations later, so many never seem to be able to break out of this never ending circle. What's left is an angry and disillusioned black youth population who are now using technology in both violent and nonviolent crimes to it's fullest extent. I've always felt that if we tried to replace illegal skilled labor with disadvantaged black/hispanic/white skilled labor, that this would be an avenue to break the cycle of governmental assistance. A stepping stone to even greater opportunities. Imagine if a program such as this was funded by the original stimulus bill. But that would have sucked for the liberal politicians who want to stay in control of the disadvantaged populations.
