Review our receiving acquisitions the last 2 years. It sucks. Like I said, they have been great on defense which given McDermott’s background makes sense. But even Belichick struggles finding receivers. But he has Brady. On the other hand, the Steelers always find top talent. and with how many bad GMs there are, it’s ok to question certain things. Beane was a marketing intern, he’s not Bill Gates. I predict a receiver drafted in the 3rd or later will have a really good year. It happens almost every year.

I hope you’re right. But he was a huge recruit for Bama and couldn’t see the field. Don’t forget we cut him. Seems super risky to be so dependent on him. My fear is that we going to be here next yearcwoth questions about Allen because his weapons weren’t good enough. We are building a Brady type receiving core and Allen isn’t that type of qb.

I addressed Knox in his draft thread. I get the physical tools but at some point, you need to produce. DK got hurt. Why didn’t he get better numbers? Also, with those 2 guys, he was probably open a ton. I love upside and some production. Counting on Foster, a year after we cut him, seems very risky. He was a guy who couldn’t play at Bama and couldn’t hold on to the ball here. I’m glad he stepped up but it seems very risky to just hope he continues that when he has struggled for 4 years to be consistent. Beane said that, yet traded for Matthews and Benjamin hoping they could be number 1. I’m sorry in what world do you not need a number type receiver? I guess I’d youre Tom Brady. But Brees has Thomas. Rodgers has Adams. Dak has Cooper. Mahomes has kid beater and Watkins (getting paid like a 1). Saying you don’t need a number 1 receiver is complete BS and it’s why our passing game has sucked for years.

RD 3, Pick 96: TE Dawson Knox, Ole Miss
C.Biscuit97 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again, I want to state I loved the Oliver pick and liked the Ford one. But man, trading up for this guy? Come on with the excuses. You shouldn’t have to make excuses for a 3rd round TE you trade up for. If he was so talented, why didn’t they try to get him the ball more? Especially After the DK injury? Also, with those 2 receivers, he had a lot of room to operate. There will be some TE with good measurables that you could get at the end of the draft. You could sign a basketball player and convert him. But we just got another whatever TE. I hope I’m wrong but if Butler goes before we pick again, I will again question this group’s ability to scout receivers. Safe to say, it’s been questionable at best. 1) Foster was at Alabama, not Bryant & Stattron 2) they cut Foster -
RD 3, Pick 74: RB Devin Singletary, Florida Atlantic

So we sign 3 rbs to million dollar plus deals only to draft an RB in the 3rd? As much as like the first 2 picks, I kinda hate this. I feel there is an outdated thought process to our team with offense. This guy has to be special (Tarik Cohen) to justify this in the 3rd. If he ends up being a KR or change of pace back, it’s a bad pick. Jaylon Ferguson or the 3 guys immediately drafted after DS would have been better picks IM0. As annoying as he is and how he has a lot of things handed to him, Kiffin is a really good offensive coach. -
Maybe the way the OP started the thread comes across bad but he has a point. And before I get called a “hater” because I don’t praise every Bills pick, Oliver was my favorite Bills pick in years and while not my first choice, I like the Cody Ford choice, especially with his mindset. but are we sure this regime can judge receiving talent: - Jordan Matthews - trading multiple picks for Kelvin Benjamin - trading up for Zay - “discovering” Robert Foster at Alabama and then cutting him and I like some of our guys but we don’t have a number 1 receiver or TE - Brown, overpaid, 646 yards/ season - Beasley, who I love, 467 yards/ season - Kroft, 3rd stringer because he couldn’t beat out a guy with frying pans for hands, 165 yards/ season and averaged less than 10 yards per catch the last 3 years. If you had Brady, maybe this group is good enough. But for a young qb, this is not that good of group. I trust this regime a million percent on defense. But honestly, they kinda suck at identifying receiving talent. You have no idea. 2017 was a weak year for qbs supposedly.

It’s weird. I have no idea who you are but you presume to know a lot about me. Thank you for caring. I’ll try to remember who you are.

But are they really top 7 if they don’t go in the 1st? I feel like this happens all every year and it turns out some of those guys just weren’t that good. Still, plenty of talent to be found though. -
Schopp is losing his mind lol

Agreed. -
John would have thanked them for giving him the opportunity and replacing him. ? Honestly, I wish Allen could have learned from Fitz. I can’t imagine a better vet to learn from who won’t get offered by having his job on the line.

Maybe and this is crazy, he learned from that Watkins trade. And What you said about Schopp sums up everyone who talks about sports and politics for a living. -
A team that hired a coach and fired him after one year? What about Arizona indicates they are well run? And to answer your question, Falcons gave up on Brett Favre after a year. Bucs gave up on Steve Young. i think you took the Josh thing super personal because you liked Allen. I get it but no matter who the qb was, the Cardinals did about as bad developing him as any team could possible do. And I would rather have the Fins waste a pick on Lock or some other qb this year. I still think Rosen could be good in a non terrible situation (and so can Allen, it doesn’t have to be one or the other). How do you know this??? Because he unfollowed the Cards? You know a guy on the Bills, McDermott his college teammate, swears by Rosen, right?

Antonio Brown threat to Ryan Clark

Sadly, there’s plenty of hypocritical Christians. People love praising God and being awful people. -
He had the same passing stats as Josh Allen! I wasn’t the biggest fan of Allen as a draft pick but if the Bills gave up on him after a year, I’d be pissed. and here’s a crazy thought John. Let’s maybe give it more than a year to judge a quarterback. This knee jerk reaction people have to judging the hardest position in sports is insane. And he had his own beer too! Thought he was George Clooney walking around Buffalo!
-
Because I’m right. They set him up to fail and replaced him after a year. He literally unfollowed the team on social media and “he’s a jerk.” He should take out a newspaper ad and thank them for everything. Are you serious? Sadly, he was like the star of the team.
-
Also, he cried like a little baby in the press when the Panthers cut him. He’s a big hypocrite.
-
Wow, this is terrible John.

Today is the day we honor the guy also accused of domestic violence we just paid a ton of money too! -
Eh. Smith is kinda of nutcase. He has little man syndrome. What did Rosen do bad? Unfollow a team that replaces him??? Smith is also the guy who broke a teammate’s face. He has some anger issues and it stems from being little (don’t tell him I said that though!).

This board has a creepy obsession with Schopp. I really don’t listen to him but some of you get offended when someone doubts the Bills. -

This is the worst thing a player has ever done. Ever. But seriously, McCoy has always been kinda of a Richard. But he’s a Bill. -
I really don’t how anyone can fault him right now. He got boned.
-
But that’s a different situation. He played on a crap team for a first year coach who got fired, an OC that got fired after a couple of games and got replaced by a guy who has never been an OC, behind a terrible o line. There’s a saying that more QBs are ruined than made. The Cards are ruining the guy and since a team wants him, he has value. He can very easily force their hands. He gains nothing but being a good solider. i wasn’t the biggest fan of the Allen pick but if they gave up on him after a year, I’d be pissed too. It’s insane what teams expect from young QBs.
-
But how does that help Rosen? He got screwed so why does he want to help them improve their situation. Obviously, he’s not AB in what he has proven but he could make things very difficult for them. By all accounts, he’s been a good solider and that got him replace. He should look out for himself.
