  1. I read somewhere that Rex Ryan said he's upset about the suspension, because he wants to beat the Patriots with Tom Brady on the field.

Whereas many of us fans were celebrating that we don't have face him twice this season, Rex is licking his lips.

    I like that attitude.

That is my attitude on this as well

I still think he should be punished......but I feel like we have a defense to beat the crap out of Brady now

  2. So I wake up this morning, and my first thought is "This is the first day I've woken up when Tom Brady is an acknowledged cheater."

The birds are shining, the sun is chirping, Brady's forever known as a cheater...great day. How's everyone else doing?

I knew u couldnt be grumpy all the time!....:)

  3. Exactly, on every count!

There is no question that Erik Pears had no business playing RG, and there is little doubt Seantrel Henderson was one of the worst RT's in the league last season. Urbik was an upgrade at LG over Cyril Richardson but not over Chris Williams.

When you have a player that is clearly one dimensional in his performance what does it tell you about their skill as a professional player? Would any Bills fan want a defensive player on the team that was only good at pass rushing and horrid against the run or vice versa? A DB that could tackle but couldn't cover, or could cover but couldn't tackle? Imagine a DT that was pushed back five yards on almost every run play. For years the Bills have employed players on their lines that couldn't run block properly even if their lives depended on it.

Bills fans should be rejoicing now that Pears is finally gone, and I know I will join them when Urbik is also gone. I don't hate on the bad players, I just want to see some actual talent.

What most Fans fail to realize is that once Doug Whaley gave up on the idea of replacing the RG / RT with Jahri Evans, and Brian Bulaga because he wasn't able to obtain either. That he also gave up the idea of a playoff berth that went out the window with those failures. Most just don't get that this team could have had a viable shot at not only a playoff game but a chance to actually win some if they had upgraded, strengthened those positions.

How many third round picks have the Bills drafted that became immediate impact starters over the last five years? What are the odds that a player out of the NFL for a year, and no other NFL team was willing to touch will return to pro bowl or even a average form? Whaley might have been able to make the playoffs last year had he signed Incognito at some point. The line play against the Raiders with a playoff berth on the line was downright disgraceful, and better OG play could have helped a great deal.

    Oh give me a break

  4. If you watched the games the O-line was a mess last year, the whole offense was. Orton was a high level back up QB or a low level starting QB playing behind a bad O-line and limited offensive weapons. Hopefully a combination of adding InCognito, Miller, getting Williams back from injury, and the young players from last season developing improve the O-line play overall.

    Hilarious post.

I actually dont think last years offensive weapons were THAT bad......

    - We had good RB's.....took injuries though

    - Our WR's were Watkins, Woods, and Hogan...that is not a bad group

    - Chandler is a "middling" TE......so in all honest he is not that bad

No.....the problem was a totally unimaginative offensive scheme ran with poor offensive line coaching and lack and combined with lack of talent on the offensive line (and playing a rookie RT)......when you cant get ANYTHING going in the run game it because very hard to run a balanced offense with the pass......and it looked like they were really trying to cover up bad pass protection.

That is why I have high hoes this year.....I feel the OC and OL coach are improved......there are so many targets added that it will dictate to a defense.......if the running game opens up....the passing game will as well by default

  5. The Bills will be pundit-unworthy until said pundits decide our QB situation is adequate.

I think the Bills helped themselves in FAs but not much in the draft. I don't have any idea how well Miami improved overall, but I keep having visions of Suh blowing up every single play we run, taking McCoy down for 2 yard losses on every run and Cassel down for 5 yard losses on every pass. It's Eric Wood and an unknown guard blocking (?) Suh, for Pete's sake. Maybe Suh is why they signed the FA fullback...

The bills draft wasnt flashy.....but they DID help themselves

    - The 2nd round pick was so that the bills can effectively run Rex Ryan's defense...which will be the staple of the team no matter what....it protects us against injury AND when teams try to spread us out it allows us to match up. Darby has all the makings of a shut down corner with a little time and adds to what is already a dominant defense.

    - When John Miller is destroying people in the run game..people will feel much better about this draft.

    - When our Mackey award winning TE O'Leary is catching passes all over the field because teams are more concerned about Watkins, Harvin, Woods, and Clay his worth will show very quickly.

So what exactly has Tanehill proved? Is He really that much better than Cassell. Have you seen how he has played against Buffalo?

I dont know....I am saying I think this is ESPN's arguement

  6. Proven QB = better team

    rinse and repeat

    rinse and repeat

    rinse and repeat

Well, the Bills traded for McCoy and the Fins signed Suh.

The Bills signed Harvin...Fins signed Suh.

    Bills, Clay...Fins, Suh.

    Bills get Harvin...Suh.

    Felton...Suh.

    Incognito...Suh.

    Resigned Hughes...Suh.

As you can see the Fins won the off-season.

Yep....pretty much. It doesnt matter that the fins lost their top 100 TE and replaced him with a TE one hit away from concussion syndom....then traded away the rest of their offense.......

it doesnt matter that the bills ALREADY HAD the best defensive DT's in football......and the fins added ONE of the best

it doesnt matter that the bills have loaded up on offensive firepower

Our QB situation is not settled.......so therefore.....we lose

  7. I have real hope for this offensive line this year......

    - Glenn......word is he has shown up in the best shape of his life. Whatever was troubling him at the beginning of last year appears to be behind him.......he will probably have Cog playing next to him in the lineup so he will have a veteran OG to pass blitz and stuntz off and should perform much better

    - Cog went to the pro bowl as a LG......he comes back with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove.....he is playing alongside his buddy Wood.

    - Wood will play better because the OL next to him are better. Wood is basically Mr. Dependable. He is not great but he is good.

    - I think the RT will be John Miller......a quality pure guard. I thought it was interesting that he had the lowest body fat of OL coming out this year. at 305 that means he could probably add another 10 pounds pretty easily with NFL trainers while not losing quickness. He doesnt need it for power as he is already incred strong.

    - Then you have Henderson......a REALLY good athlete who like most rookie offensive tackles when through ups and downs his rookie season. OL tend to get better in their second year.

    - A quality OL coach

    - A OC who is known as a "genious" when it comes to running the ball

    - 2 TE's that can block and catch

This O line will improve this year...I dont have a doubt in my mind.

  8. I finally got to see it over the weekend.....

To me it was obvious that Manny was hurt.....he wasnt even throwing punches with the arm with the rotator cuff injury....and if he did they had nothing on them.

Ill be honest....I dont know if a healthy Pacman makes any difference because Mayweather is just gonna run the whole fight.......compubox will call what Mayweather is throwing is "punches" and Mayweather will hold 20 times.....have of them being headlocks....and they wont be called.

  9. John, I've said this before, EJ's best moments came during two minute drills. When there is no time to think. The rest of the time he was over thinking which led to indecision. Thus checking down or not pulling the trigger.

    I know I know

One thing that gave me a moment of pause was some Rex Ryan comments in the first veteran camp......

It made me feel like he was still having these issues........

  10. I agree for the most part, except two things...

    1. It's hard to imagine the Bills "love" Miller's size (6-2, 305), given the size of guards Roman/Rex used on the 49ers and Jets.

    2. Tony Steward is not "very" fast, running a 4.64 forty yard dash that wouldn't have even ranked him in the top-10 LB'ers at the combine.

Those are the two picks I do not like, at all. It is mainly the size for me, both are extremely undersized for their positions.

(Then again, my ideal players/size for these positions were LG Tre Jackson (6-5, 330) and OLB Lynden Trail (6-7, 270)...so I guess it's not fair to compare them. Lol.)

I'd keep them all, besides Steward...I just don't see where he fits into this defense. They can upgrade his spot, very easily.

    Some thoughts

How ANYBODY thinks O'leary DOESNT make the team to me is baffling......Mackey award winner this past year and runner up in previous seasosn

Regardong Miller......body fat is extremely low for a OL....yet sill 310 pounds and makes up for not having 20 pounds of blubber by being physically strong......let the NFL trainers get with him and you will proably see a very in shape 315 pound OL before too long.....keep in in mind only 6'2.....he is biult like a fricken bowling ball

  11. I really had mixed feelings on draft day when we didnt take a QB

Every round after the 2nd I almost expected it.....then we got to round 7 and none selected and for some reason I was just not upset.

Maybe my fear of it is if they actually took a Bryce Petty then Rex would feel pressure to get him on the field sooner rather then later....NONE of these qbs in this draft are ready to start from day 1.

I think they did the right thing.......what I really hope is one of these qbs look decent enough to be a bridge qb that can also start NEXT year while we use our 1st round pick on a QB that even then does not play that year.
