  1.

    Deepest:

    1. RB
    2. DL
    3. WR

    Areas Lacking Depth:

    1. O-Line
    2. TE
    3. LB
    4. S

We can look at it that way until we see how some of these draft picks pan out and free agency is done

    - TE actually becomes pretty deep if OLeary pans out.......because Clay is one of the top TE's in the league...if OLeary is just a little better then Chandler this year (which lets face it....is not that much of a task) then you have some depth there. It becomes even deeper if Grey pans out.......as a matter of fact you could say what we have serious depth at is FB/HB

    - If Graham moves to safety...I would say we have some depth there as well.......

  2. Yet, Bortles had a worse rookie season than EJ; Carr was equal to at best (though 58% on 5.49 ypa is terrible); and Bridgewater had a slightly better rookie year than EJ.

This just in. The Bills aren't giving up on a 25 year old qb after 14 starts. Good for them.

I just wanna say I am glad that this went the way it did........

I really wanna know if EJ is or isnt a NFL QB before we move away from him.

  3. I like this pick a lot. Steward was a five star recruit who blew out his knee his first two seasons. He worked hard to come back from two devastating injuries for a great senior year with 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 7 special teams tackles, and 12 QB pressures(which led Clemson and beat out Vic Beasley). He is a great athlete with all the measurables. I think we will be pleasantly surprised by Steward.

To me this is low risk high reward type draft selection......

If he is past his injuries...your looking at a beast of a linebacker.....which will allow us to take that LB off our list of needs and concentrate somewhere else

  4. Can we all stop with this. It's not an amazing pick (although, for the record, he was on the 5 or so players I really wanted when we came to the podium), nor is it a sexy pick, but it is a solid #50 pick, and anything but a reach. Darby was a very highly regarded CB throughout the web, not just one "obscure draft 'expert'." CBS Sports had him as the #30 prospect. Walter Football (yeah, i know) listed him as the #5 CB in the draft. Most sites I saw listed him as an early 2nd rounder, with some possibility of going in the late 20s. Fanspeak had him in the 40s.

My co-worker and draft obsessive (he's in multiple college football fantasy leagues) went to FSU and is a fanatic about them (a Fins fan unfortunately), and has hawkishly watched his every game was touting him as someone who would be a steal for the Bills at 50.

Moreover, his opponents knew him as he was the least thrown at cornerback in all of college football. He allowed only 9 receptions and no TDs in 2013. I know the TBD treehouse has a "NO CBs" sign by the door, but with all the talk here about this being a passing league, how exactly do you stop them...with excellent CB play.

I felt like the bills got what they "needed" not what the fans "wanted"

But I think when the bills win we will be more then happy with the selections. In one way or another ALL of these picks made sense and they were value where they were picked.

  5. I agree with Kiper and anyone else critical of the Bills' draft. The only pick that makes sense is the guard in the third round. The Bills constantly try to outsmart everyone, drafting for glamour (Watkins, Spiller) and reaching when they draft for need and then indulging in luxury picks (a running back this year, really?). The character issues in this draft are very disturbing as well. I can't see the two picks with serious character issues keeping it together over the long haul. If the Pegula era is about disregarding character by signing the likes of Incognite and drafting some of the players we did, I am concerned about a sleeze factor. One Buffalo may be a tank and a football team with a significant number of low character thugs.

"I agree with everyone who hates our draft" waa waa waa

EVERY ONE of those picks made sense in one way or another....and we only had 6 of them.

    - If you call Sammy a "glamour" pick then you should learn football

New posters shouldnt even be able to post until they have a post count of at least 100 posts......
