  1. I have to agree with 'ol Bill on this one. I really liked Bryce Petty and it kinda' sickens me that we passed on him twice and the Jets got him. It's only my opinion but i think Petty will be the starter there by late season and he will be a solid pro QB.

I don't get why Bills management are the only ones that can't seem to draft a solid developmental QB? Either they overreach for an EJ in round 1 or they draft someone in round 7 or an UDFA who you know will never have a fair chance. Some of these round 3-4 guys turn out good.

I was watching a lot of Petty film before the draft especially after the reports that bills brass went to meet him.....

    - One thing that I immediately dont like is his accuracy and decision making drop way off under pressure.......when he has time he throws a very pretty ball......but that bothered me.....it screamed "this guy is gonna take a while"

That made me cool with not taking one.....when Tyrod Taylor is making Rex Ryan's face light up in interviews....then you know they have their QBs already in the stable for this year

  2. A lackluster draft with the exception of O'leary and MAYBE Miller... I had PJ Williams as the better corner in my personal estimation. Sorry, but that's what i watched on NUMEROUS Saturdays...

I am NO KIPER Jr. fan, but I agree that 50 was a little high for Darby.. I wished we would have done something else. -TE Maxx Williams was still on the board for crying out f___ loud! Ugh! -A weapon like that for a team that had QB and red-zone issues last year would have been awesome...

Using lard to style your hair is no crime.... Missing the playoffs for 16 years in a row just might be..

I just got done watching the rose bowl with my son (everybody is all happy because he just found out his friend Hamani (OG) got picked up by Green Bay.

Marriotta wasnt even TRYING to throw at Darby.....he was throwing plenty at the other side. The few times he did throw at Darby he made a play or there was a offensive pass interference call against the WR going against Darby.

For the most part QBs dont even throw at Darby....this is a good thing.

Also.....we just brought in Clay AND they got very good value for Oleary late.......who is a very good TE. They stuck to their draft board.

  3.

And therein lies the problem... Somebody SHOULD be claiming he's Gronk or Graham... That's the size and dimensions that are currently helping teams win superbowls, or at least get to the postseason... Carolina doubled-down with Benjamin AND Funchess... Two big bodies with tremendous catch radii -That only means they're not completely ignorant to what WORKS.

 Well there you go! -Why didn't I see that?... Hitch our wagons to a 7th rounder, from a BFE school, that has no idea what an NFL route even looks like.. That's great! Let's just make it an even 20 years with no playoffs.

    Dude......we had 6 picks

  4. my apologies to all for saying for not praising saint Terry. You all can go back to your Terry circle jerk praise fest.

And of course he made his billions because of his genius and its definitely not possible that he did it by getting lucky coming into some valuable property sitting on gold (or gas)

My comment was originally just a joke, didn't realise it was cause every here to get their panties ruffled.

People are gonna be pretty defensive of the pegula's chief.....you know because he basically saved Bills football in Buffalo?

LOL John. That's not saying much given how all the rest of us are idiots. If you don't believe me, ask TOM.

    GO BILLS!!!

LOL....I just thought that he made a really good point at that time in this thead.......people getting so worked up because he paid his employer a compliment.....probably for being smart enough to let the people he paid big money to know how to do their jobs.....

Smart people put good people who know what they are doing in positions to do their jobs....then empower them

  5. Just something to keep in mind here

One of the big things that came out of this offseason is one of the failings of Rex Ryan's D (even though it was still statically very good) was that its corners were sub par......

When I heard that this offseason I realized that DB was a real possiblity

    Other thoughts

I think Duke Johnson can play....but the fact is we did lose Searcy and this allows Graham to go to Safety where we WERE then......

To me Darby is like Thomas Smith.....a blanket cover corner who wont pick the ball

  6. I hate the best player available strategy. That assumes everyone knows who the best player is. They don't. It's an educated guess at best. I believe in the first 3 rounds you draft players at position of need you think capable of making it in the NFL and contributing right away. In the last 4 rounds you reach for some guys with ceilings who might grow into better players. Whenever possible trade down and accumulate more picks because it increases the odds you will hit on some of them. Pretty much the opposite of what the Bills do. For example, using that strategy you never take Kujo in the 2nd round because there are too many question marks.

    God this is such bs

Pretty much agree with every word of this post. Well said.

    You would

Jake fisher, Ali Marpet, Clive Walford ....

Fisher is far from soft and is great pass blocker.

Miller does NOT match up well with his little body against huge DTs

Great another one.....yes Miller is such a smurf

  7. Big picture, guys. The team has grown by leaps and bounds since Marrone hit the pavement. The big question is this: Who is on the roster after the dust settles? It's not a gimmick, it's reality.

What I'm saying is that the off season pickups have softened the blow of not having a first round pick. Seriously.

I look forward to draft day every year. It's huge. I'm a little upset to watch the draft go by for an entire day without a pick. Living in St. Louis makes it tolerable, watching the Rams do what they do before the bolt for the west coast.

I personally am tired of trying to figure out if we love the draft

I would much rather win the games

But I do appreciate what your saying....and yes the strong offseason did lessen the blow of not having the first round pick.

I think it also allowed them to stay true to their scouting and take the BPA on their board......this guy Darby reminds me a lot of Thomas Smith to be honest.....teams just didnt throw at him because whoever he was covering was not going to catch the ball
