  1. It could hurt his beatification process with the Vatican. Doug wants his sainthood.
  2. No, because Roman likes to run the ball and Rodgers is a really good passer. /sarcasm
  3. Seriously, last year it took Hackett about 4 weeks to figure out how to call a RB screen with either Freddie or Spiller. Our offense was completely pathetic in the preseason this year. And then... WTF happened??????? We're calling these crazy, interesting, creative read-option play-action plays. Jet sweep fakes. Where the hell did this come from? It's keeping the defenses off balance and we're making plays. I mean, we obviously have red zone issues, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around play calling that was so questionable last year and how it completely transformed itself. I'm not saying this because we won. Even if we lost, the offense looks interesting. And we didn't have that at all last year. Does Sammy and Mike WIlliams and Woods together make that big of a difference? Anywho, props to the team and Hackett and Marrone for doing something interesting, creative and unpredictable on the field. Kudos.
  4. Chris Trapasso ‏@ChrisTrapasso 3m Breaking: A source close to the situation tells me Brandon Spikes and the Buffalo #Bills have agreed to a deal.
  5. I'm sure Manuel is frustrated by putting in hard work and getting injured. Honestly, I'm not sure if EJ or Tim benefited from the exchange. But all of us fans are hoping the past injuries aren't any indication of EJ's future reliability.
  6. Unless you let someone go for economic reasons (company downsizing), you don't hire them back immediately if you're the one who thought he was a problem. So I am guessing him leaving was more Marrone than anything else. You think differently? In the interview with his home paper, Driesbach said the dismissal completely blindsided him. Since Pettine hired him even before he interviewed O'Neil, I'd say yeah, it probably wasn't Pettine. It was mentioned on Twitter, but now it's official: http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2014/01/cleveland_browns_hiring_former.html
  7. Exactly. In my mind, Manning is such a superior QB to Brady...so, the more SB's he can win, the less we have to hear people verbally fellate Brady on TV.
  8. I was thinking we need an LB with our first pick (Mack or Mosley), but if you look at % of snaps played, Kiko was at 100%, Lawson played 61.7% and Moats and Bradham were both at 25%. http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/6280/bills-positional-review-linebackers If we get a guy that takes all of those last 2's snaps, they'd still only be on the field 50% of the time. I'm thinking WR or maybe Ebron if they think he's the 2nd coming of Vernon Davis. I guess it could be a RT too...just depends. I think OG in 2nd, 3rd or 4th depending on what the FO has it on level of importance. If Ebron is the 2nd coming of Vernon Davis, I think you take him. Or maybe a WR. I like that we have more depth this year...D line is fine, OLB's are fine, maybe a FA ILB or late round prospect, safeties are fine if they franchise or sign Byrd, CB's are ok...maybe a late rd cb or two. O line needs help, a big WR would be nice, and upgrade at TE would be nice.
  9. You can't quote WR stats when we had at 3 different QB's play during the season (granted, Tuel was just half the Cleveland game). I mean you can, but it's just silly.
  10. Marrone definitely does NOT sound like Greggo. Greggo was a pompous ass. Marrone isn't without fault, though. His best hire was Pettine. We (mostly) all lauded it based on Pettine's previous body of work. Many of us questioned the Crossmen hire, and asked "What the hell has this guy done before??" I know the fans aren't always right, but I do think a lot of times fans have a more objective view of things. I mean, if you had a job candidate come in for an interview, and he said that his units performed in the bottom 6% of the league for 4 or 5 years, you'd say "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."
  11. Don't forget Byrd also has a penchant for forcing fumbles as well...
  12. Hacket seems to call a good game followed by a bad game. But his lack of any screen plays for the first 3 games was certainly disturbing.
  13. I love when people quote the record when the talent level obviously went up under Buddy. Chan was the best OC we had in a long time, and his biggest failing was giving the DC job to Edwards and then Wanny. Silly posts like this is why you're on my ignore list. Character was a Chan thing. The minute he was gone, they went after great players even with a little trouble in the player's past.
  14. My question is why a bunch of fans on a stupid fan website can see that you need to GET SPILLER IN SPACE and the freaking OC whose dad was a coach can't seem to grasp this concept??????? OMFG, it's so frustrating. I don't know crap, and I was screaming for a RB screen or something when the Jets were blitzing with everyone. Have we run even one screen this year at all? Did Hackett not watch ANY tape on Spiller from last year, and see what he can and can't do? So freaking frustrating. And 80% of the time, this offensive play calling sucks. Even the run where Freddy almost got a TD was a terrible call. Whole Oline got manhandled, and if it weren't for Freddy being awesome, it would have been a loss of yards.
  15. 1) Pettine is awesome. He was my favorite move (player or coach) the entire off season. Yes, perhaps even more than Manuel, although EJ is a close, close, close second. 2) McKelvin is just making plays this year. He gets his hands in there and knocks balls away. He almost looks like a completely different player. I don't know if it's coaching or scheme or what, but he is orders of magnitude better than in the past. 3) I beg Hackett to get CJ in space. Stretch plays, draws, counters, whatever it takes. Because CJ is not a guy that excels between the tackles. It looks like Hackett finally figured this out in the second half. That 68 yard run came on a stretch/sweep to the right. 4) Fred Jackson may be my favorite player on this team. He gets 3 yards when you think he's just going to get 1. He can run between the tackles. He can pass block. And he dropped that ball on purpose during the last drive. My mancrush is now complete. 5) I still can't believe we won the game yesterday. I am not used to the feeling of a last-minute win. 6) This team is gonna be fun to watch this year, even if we only go 8-8...or worse. 7) Can't wait to see how having Gilmore and Byrd back affect how Pettine calls a game.
  16. When is the last time we had 8 WR's a lot of us liked? I mean, we went from nothing to a wealth of WR talent.
  17. Because it's at least starting somewhere. And you never know what you're going to stumble upon. The front door is rarely the place where people get breaks. He's already done work for Fortune 100 companies, he doesn't need a freakin' internship. But hey, I'm sure you enjoyed trying to rain on his parade.
  18. Wanny did get poached. To be a Special Teams coach. After he was canned lol
  19. Emmitt doesn't have a speech impediment. He has a brain impediment.
  20. We'll start complaining about Kelsay again...wait a second. That is completely ridiculous.
  21. Nice house, but definitely not my style. And the wallpaper choice in the entry way is questionable at best. But hey, I ain't the coach of the Buffalo Bills. And like someone else said, salt water pools are WAY less maintenance than normal pools.
  22. Getting Robert Woods made getting Keenan Allen unnecessary. And as a bonus, we got Rogers as an UDFA. Relax, it all worked out Keenan may become a stud, but the Bills were not going to take Allen when we had already taken Woods, especially when they had Woods graded higher than Justin Hunter.
