  1. Actually I thought he was pretty good. Since the beginning of the season, our DB's have been allowing receivers to catch the ball. Except maybe Gilmore. Sunday, Brooks broke up at least 2 passes. However, I agree, he has got to learn to turn around and look for the ball. That's why he was burnt a few times. But one of those plays on the sidelines, he was with the receiver the whole time. Didn't get faked out (unlike Aaron WIlliams). Dude is quick and fast.
  2. People would complain he doesn't use Spiller enough...because Philly fans say the same thing about LeSean McCoy.
  3. Same crap, different thread. Just be glad the above isn't true. I'd prefer Gailey, thank you very much.
  4. A couple of things: 1) Some of you are letting your anger and frustration cloud your judgement 2) There is no way Jauron is a better coach than Gailey. On any day or in any universe. 3) We definitely need a new QB. We would have won that game yesterday with a better QB...and that's not Gailey's fault. This team is getting better. It has more talent that it has had in a long time. I still trust Buddy running things the way he has.
  5. Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Since Nix took over in 2010, there have been no first round busts. He totally re-did the scouting department. We finally have Oline and DLine depth. He got a big-name free agent in here when many said no one wanted to come here. And regardless of the record, nothing made me want to put a nickel-plated barrel in my mouth more than a Jauron-coached team. So, I'll take Gailey and Buddy any day. This team can now score points. And (hopefully) the defense finally seems to be improving. Yes, we need a franchise QB. And a LB. And arguably a real #2 receiver, or a #1 to make Stevie a top #2. But I think we are in a much better position than a few years ago.
  6. My eyes tell me the team is better. The offense can actually score points. The quarterback isn't getting sacked every other play. The offensive play calling is generally interesting and creative. The defense seems to be improving and certainly has talent, although that hasn't translated yet except for the Miami game (KC is HORRIBLE). Do you forget the craptastic offense we fielded under Jauron with Trentative at QB? THAT is setting the bar low (if you think the team hasn't improved). You guys who want a PERFECT transition with ZERO missteps are delusional IMHO.
  7. Anyone who thinks this team is worse under Buddy has quickly forgotten how bad Jauron and Modrak were. I don't care if our record doesn't show it, this team is far more competitive than it was, the players are better, and the coaching is better. We almost beat the Patriots in New England the other week for crying out loud. Buddy has been filling holes and retaining players. I have been more than frustrated with the DC like everyone else, but the right moves are being made and the team is headed in the right direction. I bet most of the people bellyaching in this thread were willing to declare Spiller a bust after one year...now he's one of the most electrifying players in the NFL for crying out loud. Oi.
  8. Not only was Merriman getting in to the backfield on occassion, but he's great at sniffing out screens and other such plays. Those were intangibles I was never aware of when he was getting 17 sacks in San Diego because I was blinded by his lights out dance
  9. This is a stupid post. If you can't tell that the team has way more talent on it than it did, you're blind. Heck, even our back-ups on the oline are decent now. Yes, we still have holes. QB is first. Perhaps LB or #2 WR is second. But this team is in a much better position than when he got here. Jauron may have a better record, but who cares. Those teams were almost talentless.
  10. If you look at the record, Jauron is better. If you actually use your eyes and brain, Gailey is better by a wide margin.
  11. No way. It's obvious this team has WAY more talent than when Buddy got here. We have an issue with the QB and the defensive scheme. Talent doesn't seem to be an issue.
  12. Buffalo Bills ‏@buffalobills #Bills placed CB Terrence McGee, RT Erik Pears on injured reserve. K John Potter has been released. WR Marcus Easley to the 53-man roster.
  13. I'm sorry, but the talent level of this organization is way better than we've had in a long, long time. That's on Buddy. Chan is the best OC we've had since Marchibroda IMO. No, as for game management and the DC's....those have been mediocre to poor.
  14. Bills didn't deserve to win this game. Between the horrible play calling with 4 minutes left, allowing a 4th down conversion, the crappy punt...Oi. We need a real QB badly. I can see Buddy selling the farm to get a franchise QB next year. Fitzy is regressing.
  15. Really? You thought he was slow and stiff after watching the Michigan State game? I call baloney. All these experts who "had their doubts" about Marcell were no where to be found last year. The guy had 5.5 sacks as a rookie at DT/DE. That is the most Kyle Williams has ever had. So all you people who are now saying Marcell is a bust/wasted pick after 5 weeks are full of crap. If you guys can't see a cause and effect between his brothers death and his play, then I don't know what to say.
  16. The problem with Sullivan is that he could write a negative article about vacationing in paradise.
  17. Then you need new eyes. The Dline obviously has talent based on past production. And if you can't see the way Buddy is building the team, then I don't have time to explain things to you in Romper Room language you'll understand. He obviously made the lines a priority and addressed them first. And you can bet we're getting a QB in the next draft. I guaran-damn-tee it.
  18. Buddy is so not the problem. This team has obvious talent. Fitzpatrick is a huge problem. Buddy will address that in the next draft. I guarantee it. Also, I don't even know what to say about the defense. I don't think it's a talent issue. It's a scheme issue, and other than a facepalm I have no other idea how to respond to the crappy on-field product.
  19. How the heck can you blame the current state of the franchise on Ralph Wilson???? Buddy knows what he's doing. He reorganized the scouting department. We got the best defensive FA on the market. And Chan Gaily is orders of magnitude than Jauron. What we have is inconsistency from our new big FA DE and a DC who doesn't seem to make the appropriate adjustments. That has ZERO to do with ownership. You're being silly.
  20. Exactly. People complain about things and they seem to forget the 7, 6 and 9 point offense crapfests we had under Jauron. The defense and turnovers on offense were the problem yesterday. Offensive scheming was WAY, WAY down on the list.
  21. Well, I saw Stevie leaving the huddle early as well. He didn't exactly look happy, but who knows what the reason is. If he is acting out, I would need to see a few more games before I made a judgment in that regard.
  22. This is the first time in a long time that there is more right with this team than wrong with this team. And that's refreshing. In another 2-3 years, other teams will be overpaying for our free agents
  23. RIP Steve Sabol. I love NFL Films and I am sure he's a swell guy. But football is becoming almost like religion in this country. He's being beatified like he cured cancer or something. He helped the NFL grow. Kudos to him, but he isn't a saint like some are making him out to be.
