  1. Jauron was a very good defensive coach under Coughlin in Jax. They never became great when he was dc (1995-98), but they got better every year after starting out in 95 as a woeful expansion team.
  2. KD, I think C.B agrees with you. It's the idiots taking pleasure in his failire that are the issue.
  3. Likeable player who had one transcendently great season for the Bills (6.0 ypc), and a lot of yahoo fans taking pleasure in his decline. Nice. You people who are dancing on his grave are pathetic. See above.
  4. Gillislee has so far in his career looked about 50 times better than Williams. And while Darby may not have been a great fit for this D, he is a lot better than Gaines. I expect him to do well in the Schwartz D.
  5. Thanks - I did not know this about Rex and Hogan.
  6. None of the guys who end up being cut will know the Bills' offense, and none will help the team. The best you're looking for is a 14 catch td specialist like Justin Hunter.
  7. The browns' dc drove off ted williams years ago because he was "too fat." Williams is one of the stupidest people in modern nfl history from a strategic (not tactical) sense, esp with regard to team building. He is poisonous. I don't give a damn about hayden, but let's not forget that.
  8. Um ... Sandy Koufax is one of the greatest pitchers of all time, and it's not even remotely arguable. HOF votes are based on career counting stats and five-year peak stats, and koufax's five year peak is about as great as you'll ever see. You're a good poster, but do you know enough about baseball to comment on it? Koufax had a total of 46.6 WAR between 1961 and 1966 (staggeringly great) plus two dominant postseason WS-winning performances and 5 straight ERA titles. Christ, man: Koufax's ERA in 4 world series was 0.95 and he won 2 world series MVPs. More to the point, Koufax did nothing until his seventh season in MLB.
  9. Levitre had an excellent season last year. Your point? He's a good player. The Bills let him leave. He will therefore be discussed. It is what it is.
  10. The issue, I suspect, is that acl injuries are 9 months recovery time max now given the advances in surgery. He is now 13 months removed from surgery. He had a simple acl tear. He is not injury prone or anything like it. It is an injury that the VAST majority of pro athletes recover from in 9-10 months.
  11. But the critique in the OP is objectively wrong.
  12. Umm ... No offense, but you're the one not understanding the cap here. They could cut him with ease.
  13. Good piece. I bought everything he said except re Watkins. I am not at all convinced he is injury prone, and he wouldn't have been hard to keep. I have a feeling we'll regret his departure. We shall see.
  14. Meh - whatever. In Schwartz's first season as the Eagles' DC, they finished 4th overall in defensive dvoa. They finished 17th the year before. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef
  15. It's really just the Bills and nothing to do with preseason. Going back to 2012, they've never finished better than 22nd in penalties assessed. They were dead last in 2015 too. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/penalties-per-game?date=2017-02-06 Coaches can only do so much, by the way. They matter, of course, but the Bills appear to have a roster with a lot of penalty-prone players (i.e., dumb players). That shouldn't come as a shock.
  16. You're assuming he made the call. I'm not assuming that at all. Tom Coughlin, a legit hall of famer, is also a bona fide dictator.
  17. LOL. True! Yeah, Kelly was the better run blocker and better RB than Marino. I have to give him that.
  18. yup. There's the money issue too, which wasn't Marrone's call.
  19. Yup. I don't have an issue with the Bills' approach to the QB situation. But then I'm a Taylor fan and would love to see him succeed.
  20. Terrific piece. I know the hate for Marrone on this board is strong, but my god - what is he supposed to do? Bortles is TERRIBLE!!
  21. The opening kickoff of game one of the regular season is your answer.
  22. What does it say?
