  1. They generally will know because it's highly likely that 3 and quite possibly 4 of the first 5 picks will be qbs.
  2. Disagree with this logic for a simple reason - you're not factoring in players. A team may absolutely love a player who will be there at 6 and not at 12. That has to be factored in.
  3. No, I'm talking about the Browns (the subject of this thread). I think that Josh Allen may be the target - he's Roethlisberger-like in his talent and from a physical talent perspective is heads and shoulders above the rest. He's also performed extremely well in the postseason showcases. As I said elsewhere, I put very little stock in completion percentages at low-talent schools like Wyoming. The draft is about projection, not past performance for an under-talented team.
  4. The one thing I'm hoping is that the Giants don't want to hand a star to the Jets -- that and Gettleman's relationship with Beane. Make no mistake, though -- the object is to get to #2.
  5. My gut tells me Josh Allen, the most talented of all of them. He should be there at 4.
  6. But those two may be gone in the first two picks. The Jets are the threat.
  7. Yep, that is my worry.
  8. absolutely. the Jets loom large in this and desperately want a qb too. The problem is that the Jets are in about as good shape as the Bills - they have draft pick numbers 6, 37, 49, and 72 and 107.
  9. My crazy hunch is that Cleveland likes Allen. He's definitely the most talented of them all, and to be fair he has performed great since the postseason showcases began. I don't think it's a bad move. I don't put a whole lot of stock in completion rates at low-talent schools like Wyoming.
  10. I think the Giants are the target. They can't afford to take chances if they've identified the QB they want.
  11. Oops! Peters, definitely. He's a HOF player.
  12. I'm generally happy about the trade, but since Wil Wolford, has there better a better Bills LT than Glenn (when healthy)?
  13. The thing is, Suh HAS traditionally gotten to the QB - http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/13234/ndamukong-suh. Also, note the ridiculous stuff and passes defensed totals for an interior d-lineman. The numbers are in decline, of course, but they're still good. Also: "The big DT tallied 15.5 sacks and 181 combined tackles in his time in Miami, despite eating up double teams constantly. Since 2010, he ranks second among NFL DTs in sacks (51.5), first in QB hits (147), second in total pressures (381.5) and first in tackles for loss (103)." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000920619/article/miami-dolphins-likely-to-release-dt-ndamukong-suh Lots of bad info in this thread ...
  14. No he's not. His teams have gone 15-15 in games he started. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MoorMa01.htm
  15. yeah, he's been extremely good for them. He's not reason their defense hasn't done well. Yes, he was. He was virtually unblockable in most of the games I watched him play in. He's a monster out there still.
  16. Fair enough. I love Darnold and think he has greatness in him. I love how he plays the game, and i like him in shootouts. As a ucla alum, i am sympathetic to Rosen, but i really worry about injuries with him. Mayfield could also be great, and i agree about him. Regardless, this is such a great qb draft, and the bills will be getting one of them. I'm skeptical of that point system, btw. Isn't there a new one that factors in capped rookie salaries?
  17. They'd still have a pick in every round in this scenario!
  18. Darnold is the obvious choice for me. But i realize opinions differ. Despite the noise we're hearing now, this is a freaking great qb class.
  19. My hunch is that the Giants are the partner (Gettleman and Beane worked together for years), and that the Bills now have the ammo to do it: 21, 22, 53, and 65. That is a HAUL, and yet it still leaves the Bills with a pick in every round. I think Darnold is the target, and I also think the Browns are taking Barkley at one. The trade for Taylor also suggests for me that they're taking a qb is going to sit for a year, and Josh Allen is the likely candidate there. He is clearly the most physically talented qb to come along in some time. I am guessing he is there at 4.
  20. I like Tyrod a LOT even though he was not the long term answer. I hope he gets the Browns to the playoffs too.
  21. They are absolutely trading up, and thank freaking god.
  22. The pass I suspect you're thinking of was thrown by EJ Manuel. There isn't a player in the league who wouldn't have been injured on that play given the ball placement and the angle of the defender making the hit.
  23. I don't mean to start an argument, but the draft is about PROJECTION, with past performance being just one factor. Darnold is TWENTY years old. He has it all - size, arm, instincts, etc. Has he made mistakes? Yes. But again, he is TWENTY years old. Moreover, he was objectively good the past two seasons. There is a reason he will go number one overall and why the Bills reportedly think he's the top qb prospect (like most other teams).
