  1. The Bills called TOs before both of those plays, so you know McD was involved in those calls.
  2. To be fair, he's a safety and not that fast relative to a CB. And no one can keep up with Hill.
  3. The best first round pick the Bills have made outside of Josh Allen in the last decade is a CB. Just sayin'.
  4. They lost last night because of their cornerbacks, full stop. They did not lose because of a lack of weapons on offense.
  5. Levi Wallace is not that good, and while I like him as depth, he was awful last night. They need an upgrade if they want to beat KC. This is two years in a row in which KC flayed our secondary despite struggling vs. teams like Denver.
  6. There were no passes defensed on 44 throws. That is terrible. Dane Jackson/Levi Wallace are a terrible matchup vs. the Chiefs’ receivers.
  7. They desperately need a better CB. They really do.
  8. I hate to say I told you so, but … Mahomes threw 44 passes last night and NOT ONE pass was defensed. That is TERRIBLE. @Bill from NYC will hate this, but I really think they need to draft a CB high if a good one is available.
  9. You can do that in college, but not the nfl.
  10. The squib is more likely to force a return. The high hanger might just go in.
  11. Garappalo is 50 times better than Dilfer. Also, as per your previous post about the Rams handling SF, keep in mind that McVay has never beaten Shanahan.
  12. If there was a re-draft, I think he absolutely goes at least in the second half of round one.
  13. We have no idea whether he's going to be a good coach or not. But they may have a QB, and if they do, he'll probably be fine if he's competent.
  14. Honestly, this isn't that much different than the Doug Pederson hire, which was similarly laughed at. Pederson has a SB ring and made the playoffs three times in five years. The QB -- Mills -- looks like he might be OK and maybe even good. He was the #1 recruit in the country coming out of HS, after all. I think he dropped a bit because he didn't play that much in college (partly due to covid in 2020). His rookie numbers were pretty good, especially considering context and the rought start he got off too (i.e., the Buffalo game). https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MillDa02.htm. Take away that Buffalo game, and his TD/INT ratio was 16/6 and his completion percentage is around 70. The equal of Mac Jones, basically, at least statistically. He has more arm talent than Jones, and if you look at the final four games of the season, he produced at a near-elite level. @GunnerBill, what say you about Mills?
  15. To quote Charles De Gaulle, the graveyards are full of indispensable men. Next man up!
  16. Looks like the Chiefs may well have a nice contract with Columbia Pictures, which did the remake of The Longest Yard. They appear to be putting a team together for the sequel. Good residuals for a long time if it's a hit!
  17. He actually did shake hands with McDermott. There are photos and everything!
  18. https://sports.yahoo.com/what-bill-belichick-told-josh-allen-in-bills-locker-room-after-allen-wrecked-patriots-191728184.html
  19. Agreed. The one mitigating factor is that 1995 season in Cleveland. They were a preseason favorite and got off to a decent start (3-1). Then Modell announced the move (I think in October) and the roof caved in after that -- fans revolting, total organizational chaos, etc.
  20. 72-79 in the regular season without Brady, not 62-74. 36-44 with Cleveland 5-13 pre-Brady with NE 14-6 in NE games without Brady while Brady was there (in the opener of 2008, Brady played less than half a quarter and the score was 0-0 when he left; BB gets credit for that win) -- 11-5 in 2008, and 3-1 in 2016 (Brady suspension) 17-16 post Brady He's 36-35 in NE overall without Brady and 31-22 after Brady took the reins. 1-2 in the playoffs (losses in 1994 and this season).
  21. Well, he won't be able to bring Trubisky to Chicago. He'll be stuck with Justin Fields.
  22. I am talking about skill set and the way he plays. He runs a LOT and is 6'5" / 221 lbs. He has also made modest improvements every season: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JoneDa05.htm. He may never pan out, but he might also thrive more in an offensive scheme that's better designed for his talents. The Giants have a ton of issues, but with a healthy offense, they are a team that can theoretically score a fair bit given the fairly high level of skill talent (Engram, Toney, Barkley, Shepherd, Golladay). They just had so many injuries the past couple of seasons.
  23. I really believe he has talent and could be a decent QB. Not saying it's a sure thing, of course.
  24. Jones is the closest thing to a poor man's Allen in the NFL, so it would make some sense. Jones has size, a pretty good arm, is smart and a leader (by all accounts), and is very mobile.
  25. Disagree; he likes McDermott and has said so multiple times. He has a lot of respect for how he and Beane have built this team.
