  1. Youth obesity is the LEAST of the problems that result from poor parenting in the US, and there's absolutely nothing I can do to cure it, outside of kids/parents in my circle of influence.
  2. No, it is that simple. When I had no money, I still had plenty of money enough to not eat McDs and frozen foods unless I chose to. Buying a chicken breast and a gallon of 2% is not that hard. Maybe the Fuji apple is expensive but the Macintosh isn't. Stop making excuses for people. Have faith in them instead.
  3. People like fat and bad-for-them foods sometime. It's their fault if they always eat unhealthy foods or overeat. I love Pizza, chicken wings, and beer but it's my own stupid fault if I eat that crap all the time. It's no one else's fault.
  4. I say all 3 if the subject for "do" in #1 is the government and the subject in #2 is the free market.
  5. Assuming you don't have a mental disorder, which is a different category of people, it actually IS simple. If you're a fat !@#$, eat less and exercise more. If your weight doesn't go down, eat even less and exercise even more. So even if you can't count calories, which is pretty !@#$ing easy, losing weight is not that hard. It's more about self-control than brains. Anyone who can make it to this website--or any website--has gads of calorie counting information at their fingertips. GADS. Screw the kitschy diets. Eat less than you burn. Lbs go away. Unless you have a REAL medical problem, it's that simple. Here's a decent website. http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/ The iPhone app Lose it is better because you carry it around. And that's just a couple programs. Or you can do a crazy thing and just add up the calories during the day. Most fat people know who is to blame.
  6. I am still laughing at this! I know you're in show biz but who do you write for? Stewart? Leno?
  7. I'm pretty $ure you under$tand why he'$ been welcomed back and why the Eagle$ hired him. On top of thi$, Reid has per$onal i$$ue$ with hi$ two kid$ and i$ u$ing Vick a$ $ome $ort of bigger le$$on, in hope$ that hi$ kid$ get $econd chance$.
  8. Any other rhymes that work there?
  9. Put me in the chair of an NFL Owner. His second chance is that he's free and allowed to be a football player, and I would NOT hire him because that's an honor. If he wants a job in the office, that's another story. But I'm selling a product to kids and in good conscience, I wouldn't put a demon on the field.
  10. I don't care what he does with his life. He just does not deserve to be lauded as a performer and his second chance should come far outside the public arena of the NFL. That 60 Min piece was a softball. The "hard" questions were about as fierce as Couric in her Palin interview--just happens that Vick is smarter than Palin.
  11. Tiger is kinda a dick when he loses. I compare him to Belichek with better marketing around him. HE only wants to win and when he doesn't, things get ugly.
  12. Late August vacations to the Atlantic coast are always risky.
  13. Agree 100%. Vick was (the only 2nd chance I'm willing to give him is linguistic and not say he still certainly IS) a very very very bad dude.
  14. And throwing up against a wall until dead. The other nice thing is that they hammered out the "breeding dogs" teeth so they wouldn't bite, before clamping them in the rape stands. And the acid--can't forget those. No evidence that Vick actually used the hammers in those cases but all that stuff was on the property. If he didn't do it, he certainly knew about it. As to the press conference, Vick is on a script. I find it unconvincing. Do you honestly see remorse in him? I see a guy who wants his $$ back. If he says he made a "mistake" one more time, I may go postal.
  15. Many--not all--Bills fans think OJ should remain on the Wall. That's VERY similar to this situation. Both involve character. Both involve honoring players. Of course I understand the difference but it's not apples and oranges. It's more like granny smith vs. golden delicious. I assumed your defense of OJ on the Wall meant you wanted him there like so many fans--I apologize for that. Assume my attacks on the Wall hypocrites were directed at the many who think he should be there.
  16. I was an OJ fan. He beat his wife before the murders. He was liable for 2 murders. He deserves NO place of honor in Buffalo. It turns my stomach to know his name is there.
  17. Nope. Just comparing one teams' fans hypocrisy to another's. Philly fans were disgusted with Vick until last night. Now lots are talking about the righteousness of second chances. OJ's inclusion on the Wall is a joke to everyone but a bunch of Bills fans. Guess you're one. Hard to see the weeds in your own garden isn't it?
  18. Plus it was already re-imagined recently (in a better way). BSG is turning into King Arthur?
  19. Murder. "OJ's up on the Wall for his on-field exploits."
  20. I have heard people defend all of these guys but I've heard a lot more defenses of Vick (mistake, everyone deserves a second chance, etc). Not many of those people are in this thread. Not me. Not you.
  21. Still a difference in intent between doing that and hammering out the "breeding dogs" teeth before clamping them in the rape stands. Oh, but at least that is before he slams them on the ground until dead, flays they skin, chokes them to death, and dips them in acid. Enormous intent differences, and before you jump on me about defending the other scum, I'm not. But a drunk driver has imparied his judgment and then sets out to make it safely home. It's easier to defend that "intent" than Vick's. On top of which, a DWI driver usually expresses remorse. Vick had none. He never came clean or expressed true regret--except at being caught. He calls his actions a "mistake," which is a !@#$ing word-choice joke.
  22. Obama cut a nice deal with the drug lobby that won't help drug prices anytime soon. I'm sure you heard about this--certainly feeds more fuel into the anti-national healthcare fire.
  23. This isn't hard. Pushing down the pay for specialists will result in fewer specialists...you know, like surgeons. But we'll have more docs who can diagnose a bunyon. THIS IS NOT A GOOD RESULT.
