  1. Malls suck. Build a downtown instead.
  2. I disrespectfully disagree. He's on crack. Cribbs http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CribJo00.htm Thurman http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/ThomTh00.htm Get a grip man. Cribbs was a nice player in a short career.
  3. Your answer: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CribJo00.htm
  4. I don't buy that. The TV doesn't control people as much as millions of fat peers..who get fat watching TV.
  5. Yeah, because people on TV are the majority of people you see every day. Come on man. My BMI, 6 months ago, was 24--just inside the normal zone. I was 6-2, 192. Everyone called me skinny. You know what though--I had a bit of a gut. So I lost 15 lbs and am now much better. We are all so used to people in real life being fat that a person who is just a touch overweight looks thin. Stuckincincy probably thought he was doing well at 5-10, 182 but he's not unless he's shredded like a pro football player. He could be doing better. TV warps people...maybe. But what really warps you is to look at all the fatass people in the office and have that be your standard. I bet out of a hundred people in my office, not 15 have BMIs in the normal range. And I bet that's typical. With so many fatasses floating around, people start to think that is the norm.
  6. I am not quite following this. Who creates this "fund?"
  7. I don't think Obama is "intentionally" neutering America but I relate to your sentiment. Most of our clients are larger and hit us with a lot of discount requests in in $Q 2008 and early this year. Combined with late pays and a few smaller people going belly-up, we started the year with our first losing months ever. The owners (me being one) took no pay for 3 months and we did what a lot of people did: Cut dead weight and lessened benefits for everyone until ends started to meet again. But !@#$ are we tight. It's sad and our goal is to restore our culture but laying people off and demanding later hours is tough on morale. The people who are still here are grateful but the atmosphere has changed.
  8. The problem is that people look at 5-10, 182 lbs and think that's skinny. That's because we've become warped by how fat America is. We expect that a belly should wobble and stick out. We're trained to see double chins as the norm.
  9. The lawyers are an easy target but I wonder if the real issue is that Dems are afraid to limit tort awards because much of their base may rise up in revolt. I would oppose tort reform--the problem is with juries, not the law. I also despise mandatory sentencing for the same reason. Both take away the ability to punish (or not) based on the magnitude of the infraction.
  10. Not true. 60% of second marriages fail.
  11. Revenues aren't going up anytime soon. The squeeze is still very much on in every business. All the cutbacks have taken the urgency off but it's still pretty tight out here.
  12. I don't think optimism is high enough to call any second dip a shock. The uptick in earnings is due in large part to a ton of cuts. I wouldn't be surprised if we bobble along at 10-11% unemployment for a long time.
  13. 200 million Chinamen are going to land in California? That's about as logisitically possible as moving them from China to the Middle East. Why the hell not? Every Chinaman's surfin' to bomb the USA
  14. The 200 million man army is on the march to the middle east from China any day right?
  15. Over the 200 day moving average again?
  16. Don't be so sure: We may not make it to the San Diego game.
  17. No way. Thought they might switch to 3-4 in spots to keep the offense guessing, don't expect it much. The Bills DEs don't command the necessary double team and the OLBs haven't shown an ability to get the the QB. Stroud might be talented enough to be the NT but he's a bit late in his career to be making changes like that.
  18. Funny. Someone just mentioned this to me too. I have no idea how people get paid in the car mfg/dealer model. If the dealer buys the car from the mfg, I can't see the advantage to the mfg in cutting dealerships.

  20. This is an awesome resource in these situations. http://tinyurl.com/knptzm
  21. Even the Messiah doesn't want this stupidity to pass.
  22. Yeah, this is going to work just GREAT. Tighten your belt...and keep 3,000 dealerships on the dole. Tighten your belt...and don't lay anyone off. Tighten your belt...and sell cars at a loss. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1247798522...icle-outset-box
  23. Damn. Only 6% here in PA...7% in Philadelphia. Philly has a nice 4.5% city wage tax though. BAM!
  24. Lori came here seeking answers to essay questions?
  25. Right--that plan doesn't work at all for specialists. But it works well for the family practitioner, especially if your average waitlist for the family doc extends out to a couple weeks.
