  1. How many days have we now been above the 200 day moving average?
  2. Oh my God! You're comparing teams' performances week to week against different opponents during the pre-season! Noose please.
  3. Yup--you stole my thought on that. He always comes up in these conversations. With more charisma, he could have been lead singer for a lot of bands.
  4. First, let's get something straight. The Bills line is incapable of opening any holes for a running back, no matter how many lineman are across from them so that option is out. Second, I agree that Trent should be able to do this. It's his achilles heel--but at the same time if he's struggling with it and it's so obvious, his coaching staff should be throwing it at him day and night. Most QBs struggle against a blitz. That's not Edwards's weakeness. He struggles against lots of guys in coverage. So, WTF coaching staff? Make him see that ALL DAY LONG.
  5. It's not just the 3-4. As was discussed last year several times, Trent does poorly against teams that drop men into coverage. He reads and reacts to blitzes extremely well. But when a team drops lots of men into coverage and doesn't blitz, he blows. If he's not seeing that in practice, shame on the Bills. It would be yet another coaching blunder around a young QB.
  6. Think of it this way: Edwards might be the starter for a while on this team. Fitz is never going to be a decent starter for ANY team. I'd rather try to stick with Trent for at least this season. If he sucks, move on--but not to Fitz.
  7. Before last night's pre-season game, Trent had one completion and was the unquestioned starter. Now he has a bad pre-season performance against a top defense minus the best Bills player--and it's call in Fitz! Good fans!
  8. And last week there was talk about how defenses would have trouble stopping the no huddle. The wheel goes round.
  9. The best player on the Bills was not on the field. He doesn't block of rush but he certainly helps.
  10. A disease that makes you move your hand to the refrigerator door. A disease that makes you pick up the bottle. A disease that makes you open the bottle. I'm with you. Addiction might be easier for some people to fall into but in the end, it's free will to choose to drink or not. It's not free will (ie it IS a disease) to have cancer. It is a disease to have a chemical imbalance in your brain that makes you feel depressed...but the actions you take while depressed, no matter how depressed you are, are yours to make.
  11. Turf toe can be very serious and linger a while. It's a sprain of the big toe--which generates most of the force on acceleration. Often forces players in and out all season because it feels better and then recurs. Think of it like a hamstring strain .
  12. I am a parent and I back you up. I walk all over the place and when my daughter couldn't walk, I carried her. Once she could walk, we walked. We had a rarely-used stroller. The reason most parents use strollers is because they can't make it over the "I don't wanna walk" whining. Not me. My response to that was simple. "We're walking." That included an August Disney trip a while ago when she was 3. We walked all over the parks in 95 degree heat. I let her ride my shoulders every once in a while just for fun but she marched over all of those parks.
  13. I always feel bad for the many fat people putting in 1-2 hours/day at the gym(or working out outside) and/or watching their calories.
  14. Thanks--deleted my posts on that topic.
  15. Michael Jordan was a dick to his teammates. Once knocked two of Kerr's teeth out with a forearm shiver in practice. On the all-time team, he's the shooting guard 100 out of 100 times.
  16. Yeah. We agree. I am not sure if the US has the stomach for this. My point is that it's fixable and that because I don't think the economy is winding up to fly anytime soon, there is time to do the fixing. Things like this and the health care letters (see other thread) will push the US populism one way or another. The bad news is that there's no standard bearer party for fiscal conservatism.
  17. This chart shows the relative rises in the Ms over time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Componen...ney_supply2.svg A reckoning time may come as the M2-3 makes its way to M1 but with things remaining sluggish, I hold out hope that Bernake (and his successors) will have time to pull back the money supply over a "lost" decade or so. Good result? No. Solvable mess? Probably. I am not sure if repealing mark to market would have relieved the banks of their solvency problem earlier this year but I would have liked to have seen that done at the same time the FED pumped (less) money into the system. That credit crisis in 4Q2008 into early this year was really scary... not sure what other solutions were out there at the time. I (with others) own a 24M/year business that has had little to no debt (only real debt is our office space) and a historically excellent cash flow...early this year we had cash issues as clients couldn't pay and banks almost laughed at us when we came seeking a short term loan. It was really rough out there. Now we have a few banks competing to give us a LOC (which we are getting to avoid that situation in the future).
  18. That is a great idea. More !@#$ing populism bull sh--.
  19. I actually agree, but I also agree with TPS on this. I don't think it will be as bad or good as either of you think. I bet we get inflation but it isn't through the roof.
  20. Are you kidding? 2 passes and I'm supposed to feel confident that they don't need all the practice they can get together? This isn't Marino-Duper, Kelly-Reed, Manning-Harrison, or Aikman-Irvin. These two have played zero games together and not playing together for 3 weeks before the season starts won't help. Don't get me wrong: TO is so talented that it won't kill them--but they need to be really good. This is not a very good team. They need all the edge they can get.
  21. Deflationary pressures offsetting inflation. Most of the money is not M1 money, ie, it's not spendable but just on the books. All the TARP money for instance, went to banks to make them solvent.
  22. Women who like gentlemen instead of jerks. Natural breasts. Natural hair color. Wrinkles.
  23. 80, 70 NYC to Philly is the same distance as Rochester to Buffalo--70 miles or so. Hardly a "long-distance trip." It's a new technology man. You won't think much of such a decision in the future.
