Assuming a loss to the Pats.....
ndirish1978 replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll play just well enough to put ourselves 1 or 2 spots out of the running for a difference-maker in the 1st rd. -

Here's the original Buffalo News article: http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121023/SPORTS/121029722/1004 And before you all correct me and say that he is just saying he doesn't listen to critics, they gave him a chance to rephrase and he chose not to. He got defensive about a game in which he contributed a total of two tackles and mouthed off. At least Kelsay had the right response in showing he was upset about his performance and not at the reporter for questioning him. -

I have a problem with all the people criticizing Mike for his post. 1- He's earned the right to vent if only due to his years of posting on this board. Some of you may not appreciate seniority because you've been here all of 2-3 years, but he has been here for ages and has never been a doom and gloomer he should get a little respect. 2- Kneejerk reactions like "don't let the door hit you.." are worthless. Evaluate the statement and counter if you disagree. 3- He's not the only one feeling like this. More and more longtime fans are disgusted with the EFFORT of the team. Kelsay vocalized what the fans have been feeling for years: we invest more emotionally in the performance of the players than they do themselves. What happened to showing a work ethic and some pride in what you do and the community you represent. I was sickened by Mario's "I don't care what you think" comment because it reflects apathy towards his performance that is evident in the effort we see him play with on the field. We're all fans. We'd all love to have the ability to hope this team can turn things around against the odds. Some are having a hard time finding that hope anymore and it's understandable after years of subpar performances. Moreover, the thing that has killed hope, as many have noted in this thread is NOT poor play due to a lack of talent. Hope is suffocated when great talent plays with no passion or effort. We have a VERY talented D-line. They are not performing up to their abilities and we see people giving up on plays. That's a kick in the nads to die-hard fans. I still hope we can turn things around, but I haven't seen any indication from a frustrated or pissed off group of defenders to indicate a turnaround is in the offing. -

I completely understand you Mike. I've found myself similarly taking a bit of a step back from the Bills in the past few weeks. Like others I tend to DVR the games now rather than going out of my way to watch them live. I used to check this site multiple times a day, now I look in every other week. Be a fan, but don't lose sleep over the team. It's obvious the defense and DC aren't losing sleep over being this terrible and there is zero chance we make the playoffs this year. You don't go from a terrible team to a winning franchise overnight and we won't see a movie-type turnaround this year. -
I believe the Bills lose directly as a result of Sullivan's actions. He might be some sort of warlock. Anyone ever thought of that? Is anyone missing a pet? I believe there was a report of an unnatural dark cloud directly above Sully's house sometime Saturday.

WEEK #1 - Bills @ Jets Game Day Thread

I'm despondent. I feel like apologizing to everyone I've ever argued with on this board telling them we were headed in the right direction these past few years. I've never seen us look worse. -

Unusually negative Tim Graham on PFT
ndirish1978 replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow. You guys really like to attack don't you? I thought the interview slanted a bit negative and I outlined my reasoning and then asked if you thought I was off base and all of a sudden I am super sensitive and looking for negative things to say? For the record, Tim Graham is my favorite Buffalo sportswriter. I read all of his stuff and I agree he is objective and a very good writer. If you go back in the timeline you'd see that I regularly sided with Tim when he used to post here on the board. The ONLY thing about my post I would change is the title, which states the article was negative. I should have put a question mark at the end. -
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/12/pft-live-can-fitzpatrick-turn-the-bills-around/ Very interesting interview on PFT live. However, I was surprised with the seemingly negative tone of Tim Graham's comments. I may be off base, but he seemed to poo poo the positive spin Florio was trying to put on the Bills offseason. I only noticed because it's the first time I've ever heard a "home town" reporter speaking less positively about his team than Florio. Struck me as out of character for Tim. What do you guys think? Why did I say he was "negative?" 1- Florio- Great offseason, fans must be excited. Graham- Bills have a bad track record, people aren't as excited as you think 2- Florio- New QB coach has people excited about Fitz's potential. Graham- New stuff never worked for old boxers, so Fitz probably won't get much better. 3- Florio- Who's gonna be #2? Graham- TJ drops balls and can't go over the middle.

any news on torell troup?
ndirish1978 replied to MARCELL DAREUS POWER's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have you ever followed the Bills? They don't value the tight end position at all. If they hadn't stumbled upon Chandler, we wouldn't have gone out and picked up a good FA or drafted one before the 4th round. -
What have the Bills done wrong this offseason?
ndirish1978 replied to Jeffery Lester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am a bit confused about why a lot of people here seem so focused on the TE position? I say this because we have the unique advantage of having 2 excellent RBs who have great hands and we are often in 5 wide sets. The very nature of our offense uses the TE position rather sparingly, though Chandler did a great job maximizing his opportunities last year. The obvious response is "it gives us a unique wrinkle" or "so and so team uses them effectively", but I don't see either as particularly persuasive arguments, a the same could be said for any position on the team. It would be great to have better depth at every position, so why is everyone so intent on TE? -
Just another idea of the media drumming up a story based solely upon their own beliefs and without any evidence. The Bills have stated Young was brought in only as a backup and we don't have a cagey FO or HC; they mean what they say. No reason to even pay attention to it.

Hairston starts the season. 1- Chan defers to experience 2- Hairston did a decent job last year thrust into a starting role with no offseason prep. I expect him to make a big jump this year.

Please don't feed this troll by engaging with it. Its never-ending negativity only serves as evidence of how miserable a troll it must be. Just let it whine into the ether of the internet. Maybe if we stop feeding it, it will go away. -
ESPN looks like a panel of fossils. No interesting analysis and terrible production value. No reason to ever watch that channel

Our opinions of this draft, pick by pick.

Buddy's answers at the presser for those who asked: Asper - Brought in to be a backup G/C Potter - Kickoff specialist. Buddy wants someone who can kick the ball through the goalpost consistently to guarantee less wear and tear on our coverage guys and to ensure solid field position -

RD 4, Pick #105: LB Nigel Bradham - FSU
ndirish1978 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's called looking at your board laterally. He called WR in 3rd rd because he knew who he was targeting. If Bradham were gone, we could have picked another position. Don't read into things. -
I'm very happy
