Mark Vader replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Never cared for Space Godzilla, let's stay away from that foe. -
It's August! The last month before school is back in session and football is back in season. It's also the final act of the Summer season of movies to squeeze out the last bit of money from consumers before the more serious fare and glut of Oscar contenders begin to arrive. Primarily August is a month of scraps from the prime cuts of the season of much bigger movies. Yet there will be something out there to get people excited. Hollywood is counting on it, as a whopping 15 movies have nationwide releases this month. With so many options to choose from, there is bound to be at least one hit this month.....right? Mark Wahlberg stars in, "Mile 22". An elite American intelligence officer, aided by a top-secret tactical command unit, tries to smuggle a mysterious police officer with sensitive information out of the country. Also starring Ronda Rousey, Lauren Cohen & John Malkovich. Jason Statham stars in, "The Meg". After escaping an attack by what he claims was a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible. Also starring Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson, Jessica McNamee & Bingbing Li. Mila Kunis & Kate McKinnon star in, "The Spy Who Dumped Me". Audrey and Morgan are best friends who unwittingly become entangled in an international conspiracy when one of the women discovers the boyfriend who dumped her was actually a spy. Also starring Justin Theroux & Sam Heughan. Ewan McGregor is, "Christopher Robin". A working-class family man, Christopher Robin, encounters his childhood friend Winnie-the-Pooh, who helps him to rediscover the joys of life. Also starring Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael & Mark Gatiss. Melissa McCarthy stars in, "The Happytime Murders". When the puppet cast of an '80s children's TV show begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet takes on the case. Also starring Elizabeth Banks, Maya Rudolph & Joel McHale. Mandy Moore stars in, "The Darkest Minds". Imprisoned by an adult world that now fears everyone under 18, a group of teens form a resistance group to fight back and reclaim control of their future. Also starring Bradley Whitford, Amandla Stamberg & Gwendoline Christie. "Dog Days" follows a group of interconnected people in Los Angeles who are brought together by their lovable canine counterparts. Starring Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Adam Polly, Eva Longoria, Rob Corddry, Tone Bell & Finn Wolfhard. In "Operation Finale", 15 years after World War II, a team of secret agents are brought together to track down Adolf Eichmann, the infamous Nazi architect of the Holocaust. Starring Oscar Issac, Melanie Laurent, Haley Lu Richardson & Ben Kingsley. "Alpha" is a story of survival set 20,000 years ago during the last Ice Age. Starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Natassia Malthe, Leonor Varela & Jens Hulten. James Franco stars in, "Kin". Chased by a vengeful criminal, the feds and a gang of otherworldly soldiers, a recently released ex-con and his adopted teenage brother are forced to go on the run with a weapon of mysterious origin as their only protection. Also starring Dennis Quaid, Zoe Kravitz, Jack Reynor & Carrie Coon. "The Little Stranger" tells the story of Dr. Faraday, the son of a housemaid, who has built a life of quiet respectability as a country doctor. During the long hot summer of 1948, he is called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall has been home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. But it is now in decline and its inhabitants, mother, son and daughter, are haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life. Starring Domhnall Gleeson, Josh Dylan, Ruth Wilson & Charlotte Rampling. "Crazy Rich Asians" follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family. Starring Constance Wu, Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding & Genna Chan. "A.X.L." is a top-secret, robotic dog who develops a special friendship with Miles and will go to any length to protect his new companion. Starring Thomas Jane, Becky G, Dominic Rains & Alex Neustaedter. "Slender Man" tells the story of a tall, thin, horrifying figure with unnaturally long arms and a featureless face, who is reputed to be responsible for the haunting and disappearance of countless children and teens. Starring Joey King, Javier Botet, Julia Goldani Telles & Annalise Basso. Finally, in "Death of a Nation", This documentary draws parallels between Abraham Lincoln's presidency and the presidency of Donald Trump. Godzilla: King of the Monsters Comic Con Trailer
Mark Vader replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Sure would. The question is, how would they approach it? Would they use the MechaGodzilla of the 70's, where it is controlled by Space Apes? Or would they go with the 90's/2000's version, that was created by Earth as a means to destroy Godzilla? -

Godzilla: King of the Monsters Comic Con Trailer

I think if Warner Bros. is able to continue this series beyond the 2020 Kong Vs. Godzilla movie, then the penultimate foe for Godzilla would be MechaGodzilla. -
Earliest TV shows/specials you remember watching
Mark Vader replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
After seeing this intro, and with me living in California, I used to think that the Banana Splits gang lived in San Francisco, with those shots of them on the trolley and the Golden Gate. -

The earliest shows I watched that I can remember were mostly cartoons. My earliest recollection would be re-runs of The Banana Splits show. -
Well, well, well...look who's back. I didn't know you were a Big Red fan.
