  1. The question is, inside what?
  2. Good luck getting $3M a year Pat, much less $5M a year. Like I said, no more than Big Sam makes.
  3. JD Williams had an eye problem or some condition that led to a lack of depth perception. His speed was always there, and IIRC was annually among the finalists in the "fastest man in the NFL" competitions.
  4. True. Better to relive the Kelly years a decade ago, or the Todd Collins/RJ/Flutie/AVP years.
  5. I'm curious to know if these guys were busts because they were drafted by Cleveland, or just never had it in them to play in the NFL? We'll never know, but I'm sure a guy like Belchick would have taken either of them, but what could he have done with them?
  6. That's one of the most RIDICULOUS rumors I've ever heard! First of all, Williams didn't file his papers to serve his suspension last year, so he'll have to sit-out the 1st 4 games in 2005. Second of all, he said he wants to play just 1 more year. If anyone is high enough to think that the Raiders would trade away the 7th overall and another pick, plus Nap Harris, to ultimately get a guy to play 12 games for them, then I have a bridge to sell you, slightly used.
  7. First of all, calm down. Second of all, to paraphrash Bill Parcells, "you are what your stats are." Among TE's last year, Putz was 9th in receiving yards, 13th in receptions, and 3rd in YPC among TE's with 25 or more receptions. Moreover almost 80% of his receptions were for 1st downs. And if he WAS the 3rd TE behind some scrubs, that makes it all the more impressive. My guess is that since he's more of a receiving TE than a blocker, he was 3rd because the Broncos like to run the ball a lot. But who cares? With stats like those, I'll spend the 6th rounder and the fairly cheap salary for a TE like that, especially considering that Euhus isn't that great of a blocker and is coming off an ACL injury.
  8. "You, Jason Peters, are the WEAKESTLINK! Goodbye!"
  9. "These things come in different sizes? What are these, jumbos?"
  10. If I were the Bills, I'd add a 3rd WR regardless. The Bills can't hope Reed gets his head out of his ass, and if he does, great. But he'll likely be gone next year either way, due to a lack of production, or getting a bigger deal elsewhere. That is unless someone gets injured and he shines.
  11. Yeah, because in college his QB was AMAZING and threw perfect passes everytime, and he only dropped the bad passes by Drew.
  12. I don't know what happened in Denver, but 34 catches for almost 600 yards with a 15.9 YPC average, with 27 of them for a 1st down, and being just 26, 6'4 256#, and running a 4.69 40-yard, all for just a 6th round pick, seems like a worthwhile gamble to me.
  13. I'd be willing to try Denney at TE and Bannan at OG, as a last gasp for both. It's not like either player is breaking the bank and the more competition, no matter WHERE it comes from, the better.
  14. A 15.9 average on over 30 catches is great for a WR, let alone a TE. I did a search and found this about him prior to the 2002 draft: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...yers/16588.html Running a 4.69 40-yard and being 6'4" and 256# sounds pretty good to me!
  15. You beat me to it. Drew recouped the 1st rounder the Bills spend on him, and made the Bills an attractive place for FA's because of his presence. Why some people cannot see that, or choose NOT to see that, is curious.
  16. He's DC Tom...and you're not!
  17. I think it would have been smarter to have an open competition between the two, but it seems that the Bills wanted to let Drew go, save some money, and leap into the future. Whether that was a smart move remains to be seen.
  18. I thought it was a love story, but what did I know at 7? Went to see it on my bro's b-day and like you, was never the same after that. I even got the original Star Wars action figures, that you had to send-away for. Wish I'd kept them intact!
  19. That's all a TE is worth if he's transition tagged? If so, I guess he'd be worth it.
  20. My condolences. It was an awesome experience when those movies would come out, seeing them 3 or 4 times in the theaters.
  21. Franks isn't worth transition tag money.
  22. Looking at that link, so Denny Green wanted a draft pick as well? Hah! Better get moving quick Denny my boy, otherwise you might findt the price for Henry goes WAY up after TD gets done talking to people at the combine, starting today. Chop, chop. Although I'm torn between getting Shelton straight-up or seeing what TD can get for Henry with what looks like a REALLY good market for him now.
  23. Depends on the numbers. Can't really justify anything more than what Big Sam is making, considering he's made the Pro Bowl the past 2 years and Phat Pat hasn't ever, whether justifiably so or not.
