  1. Interesting. I refered to VT as the Bills of college (never win a big game) to a friend last night. I guess that makes Boise the anit-Tech, all they do is win big games...
  2. I think those are thier Halloween costumes. Well, if you're going to get pumped, you might as well look stupid doing it...
  3. A number one album does not necessarily mean it sold the most, just that it was rated highest on the charts. As far as today's music goes, I agree with you, but we're talking about pre-1970 here. The beatles wrote over two hundred songs in less than 10 years, and although there are some that I wouldn't say are great, the majority are. I am a musician and I find that some Beatles stuff is harder to play than more modern bands. They still pull out chord s that I've never seen before...
  4. The Beatles are over-rated? What they hell? People who think this have got to be under 30. 27 number one songs, 15 number one albums, in less than ten years. Yeah, over-rated. I had some kid try and tell me that fukin Radiohead was a better band than the Beatles the other day. What the Beatles did will NEVER be repeated...
  5. what? No TV!!!! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!!!
  6. Haven't seen it, but I would guess they would be E A G and D...
  7. Totally unrelated, but I can't stop picturing the President with his hands clenched, shouting up at the sky, ala George Costanza, "this was supposed to be the Summer or Recovery"!!!!!!
  8. agreed. Probably due to the ultra-religious would be my guess...
  9. OMG, you've blundered into the answer!!!! Conner is actually the smartest man on Earth, and he's playing us all for fools!!! Ah, the genious (sic) of it!!! Damn him!!!
  10. I agree, it HAS to be an act. right?
  11. You guys are right, it was not a tirade. But he still likely lost most of the non-repub voters due to those comments. That and the subsequent denial that he knew what the word meant...
  12. Well, I would say that Allen technically defeated himself by going on a crazy, redneck tirade about Macacas that most people remember...
  13. the way I always wanted to go out....horribly...
  14. well, yes and no. With the Matrix, you needed two viewings because you really didn't know what was happening until about half way through the film, so you needed to go back and watch the film with the knowledge of what was truly going on. This film is different because they make it pretty clear what is transpiring close to the beginning of the movie, so a second watching is only needed for eye candy and enjoyment of the films little details. If that makes any sense...
  15. Saw it last night, this movie was AWESOME! Very detailed, you won't want to go take a bathroom break in the middle of this one. I would agree with some of the other posters in that it is similar to Matrix or Momento in that you kind of don't really know everything that's going on until the end, but it was very well done in the sense that it all came together in the end without alot of really confusing questions. Leonardo has really grown on me, from someone I couldn't stand over the whole Turdtanic affair, into an actor I respect for his acting talent (see Shutter Island, Body of Lies). Defintely worth the price of admission, you won't be sorry you went to this one...
  16. you were at that show? Holy Crap that must have been scary...
  17. meh, to each his own I guess. A big favorite of mine actually. Saw them with Gov't Mule opening in 1997, right before Woody died...
  18. Now that I have your "attention", is there any audio wizards who can enlighten me as to the best wasy to isolate that particular sound effect from the recording so I can use it when we play the song live? It doesn't have to be perfect, and of course, it is impossible to completely get rid of the background instruments without having the actual recordings. Any suggestions? Much appreciated.
  19. when were you at BBSR and what were you up to? I was there in Summer of 2000, I taught an Aquatic Tox laboratory for graduate students for my professor. Tons of fun, got paid to go to Bermuda...
  20. only been once, but I stayed on the research station. Great place though, you will have a great time. I might also suggest renting a scooter instead of a car to save you some cash. The island is not all that big...
  21. DMB. Oh boy. I know lots of people dig em, but I just don't get it. My sister dragged me to a show a few years back. I tried to like it. I really did. EVERY song was the same. Recipe for DMB song: 1. DM starts out with a quiet little noodle lick on acoustic guitar. 2. Rest of the band comes in, two verses and two chorus. 3. Violin solo 4. A little more singing 5. Horns. 6. Music swells to a muddy cachophony. 7. "concert" ending. wash, repeat...
  22. Black Crowes downtown Charlotte in 2000. They were the headliners in a CenterCityFest or something with a couple other bands, one of which, was Bob Dylan. The Crowes sounded like ****. I know it was them and not the sound equipment because Dylan sounded good, you just couldn't make out his words, but hey, it's Dylan. So Chris Robinson gets all pissy with the crowd, "why are you all booing us". Well, Chris probably because you guys suck...
  23. jesus, are those three just going to go 3 vs 5 for 60 minutes or what? Like they'll have any $$$ to sign the part players you need to win a championship. This is going to look like a monkey trying to !@#$ a basketball in Miami this season...
  24. I believe his point is that their "response" to criticism is to say they are taking steps to address the issue, and then do nothing of importance...
