What Electric Guitar Should I Buy?

I figured Dark Side would get the most play, but in my mind, Animals is the ultimate Pink Floyd album. It just isn't even close. The best guitar work EVER by David Gilmour and the most inspired lyrics of any Floyd song on "Dogs". Just a fantastic album start to finish. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want He makes me down to lie Through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by With bright knives he releaseth my soul He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places He converteth me to lamb cutlets For lo, he hath great power and great hunger When cometh the day we lowly ones Through quiet reflection and great dedication Master the art of karate Lo, we shall rise up And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water...

What Electric Guitar Should I Buy?

They make them with smaller radius necks I believe. Muddy sounding? What amp where you playing it through? Could this have been the problem? PRS guitars are awesome! I don't know anyone who has every owned one that had anything bad to say about them, especially the McCarty model, which is essentially thier version of the Les Paul. Joe, since you are clearly putting much effort into this search, let me give you one piece of advice which I hope you will take: DO NOT SETTLE! Take the time to find the perfect guitar for you, otherwise, you will not be happy and eventually, will have to start the search over again. BTW, is anyone interested in buying my EMGs? I am going to replace them with some custom humbuckes from Lindy Fralin... -
Essentially given away when The MIB says to Richard, "nice to see you without your chains on" or something like that. At least for me, but I was looking for a connection between Richard and the Black Rock for some time now. Great observation about the principal being the button pusher Jokeman!!!! You win the prize for the day!

23,000 To Lose Their Jobs When the Shuttle Shuts Down
TheMadCap replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
absolutely agree. NASA and thier contractor buddies have been eating this up for years and years now. Actually, they don't, since Obama wants to cancel Constellation, which, effectively eliminates the manned program, since there is no current alternative plan. As far a waste in $$$, I agree to a point. Firstly, you need to actually HAVE a goal and a plan to get there, which we currently don't have (or at least, the president wants to cancel it). Once you have that plan, then you can decide whether it is worthwhile or not. I do not think that an "Apollo on steroids" plan to go back to the moon (a la Constellation) is the proper approach, but I think my views on this are pretty well known. That being said, if you do have a good objective for a manned space progam, then I do think that it provides good return on tax dollars, look at the payoffs we recieved from the Apollo program... -

I have and 81 and 85 in the Les Paul in my photo. I can't wait to get rid of them. Don't get me wrong, they sound good, but I don't play metal anymore, and I find it difficult to get a really nice clean tone out of them. Based on what you wrote, why not invest in a really nice used Les Paul? You could get a great one for about 1k if you are willing to do the leg work and be patient... -

have to give a mention to Hughie Thomasson of the Outlaws for the rippin solo on "Green Grass and High Tides" also, Martin Barre for the solo for Aqualung. So good, that Jimmy Page tried to distract him from playing it in the studio by banging on the glass while recording... -

Please don't take this as a comment directed toward you, because I realize where that statement came from. But that is utter rubbish. How exactly will the US maintain it's leader status when we essentially have NO manned program, which is what the current plan details? -

A large part of the reason Constellation was chosen as the "replacement" for the STS was that the large workforce associated with keeping it flying would be carried over. We are light years away from being able to efficiently and cost effectively being able to mine the moon or any other other-worldly body for resources at present... -

wow, this has to be one of the most idiotic things I've heard in my life, and I've worked in restaurants before. To quote some dude in a movie I saw once, "everyone is now dumber from having heard (read) this"...

The obvious choice is the blond boy is Jacob, in fact he even looks like the elder version. However, the very first thing I thought of was: AARON!! Remember, he is destined for something great, and we don't know what that is. He is the wild card on this show, along with Walt. I suspect both will have a large role upcoming...

Obama pledges 8B for nuclear power plant
TheMadCap replied to TheMadCap's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Brothers and Sisters, BROTHERS AND SISTERS PLEASE!!!!! Can we keep the bitching on topic for once? All bitching in this thread must be about Nuks or no Nuks. Thanks! LOL! Actually, I think we are nearly unanimous in our support? Could this be, for the first time in PPP history? Does anyone think this is a bad idea???? -
Wow. I think this is a great idea. Finally, something Obama has done I can get behind... http://content.usatoday.com/communities/th...-power-plants/1

They show that everytime the Sabres play in Raliegh. My guess is that it was filmed when the Hurricanes were playing the Pens or some such. Either way, so what. What always makes me wonder is how much resentment fan there have over that ECF series. It's sort of taken on mythical proportions. I go to lots of Canes games (my dad is a STH) and it's like night and day the treatment I get depending on the jersey I wear. The Sabres are the number one enemy there, which is strange because I don't even think Sabres fans rank the Canes anywhere near the top of thier hate list. For a series the Canes won! About the only negative thing I can say is that for a bunch of folks who resent being called "NASCAR central, or Redneck Hockey fans" they sure don't mind ripping the City of Buffalo to shreds, which I would wager not more than about 2% of em have even been there to find out. Most of em are pretty cool, but there's always a few in EVERY crowd. I would guess that probably 80% of the Sabres (and Pens, Flyers, etc) fans that come to the games there live in the area, and lots of em probably have on Canes gear the rest of the time. Like anything, it takes time to build a homegrown fanbase.

Best Local Musician Series -- Guitarist
TheMadCap replied to wide_right's topic in Off the Wall Archives
wow! This guy is the greatest living guitarist that most people have heard, but never heard of! Didn't know he was from WNY. As far as locals go, there is a guy named Johnny James that is a pretty good blues act...
