none of this was as bad as the blown call in the SteAlers-Dolphins game earlier. If you haven't seen it, Big Dumb Rapelisburger dives for the goal line. The defender hits his elbow causing a CLEAR fumble which goes into the endzone. The Dolphins are shown coming out of the mad scramble with the ball. The side judge cannot see the fumble and calls TD because he thinks he made it over the goal line and that the ground caused the fumble. So on to the review. It was clearly a fumble. So the Dolphins get a touchback? No way. Since the refs were standing around, thumbs in asses, they apparently claim that they don't know who recovered the fumble. Even though there is actual film of the Dolphins coming out of the pile holding up the ball, which the official clearly sees, since he's looking right at him. NOPE. The ruling is: SteAlers ball on the two yard line. That, my friends, is just plain negligence on the part of the officials. Incompetent boobs...

Violence against children is fukin abhorant. I am all for free speach or artistic licence, but I wouldn't be upset if they got rid of this kind of thing from movies and tv...

Drug companies do not make huge profits off of vaccines like they do from meds for your Johnson. However, I would tend to agree that many people think everything should be free and without risk. This is why I have no problem with my current Co-insurance, which covers me for serious injury and everything else ~80%...

I think they may be in trouble with the FAA for violating airspace. There is a reason that there are no fly-overs near Kennedy during launches... -
Pominville Taken out with Cheap shot
TheMadCap replied to stevestojan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The first guy in the scrum was #19???? Wow! I try not to be a homer, but other teams play by play and color really suffer by comparison to the good ones. RJ is excellent, and the Canes folks are pretty unbiased as well, but some teams guy's are just terrible. We all know the story with the Bruins guys, but I'll include Chicago in on the crappy homer types after listening to Eddie O and the other play-by-play bozo try and claim that Pomminville saw the guy coming and essentially tried to write the hit off as his fault for not moving out of the way. Just pathetic... -
I think the curse happened before that. Do you guys remember back when O'Brian was the QB and they were like 10-1 (I think 1985) and then a sports announcer said they wouldn't win another game (McGuire?). And they didn't. I think that's when the real choking started...

What's the worst day in Buffalo Bills history???
TheMadCap replied to wil1226's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely disagree with you guys. Wide Right isn't the low point. It has to be 52-17. Here's why: The Bills were a fantastic team who played to the wire and lost by a foot. There was still some pride left after that defeat, hard to take, yes, but they could walk off hte field heads held high. After getting run out of the stadium by Dallas, that was horrific. Never felt lower as a Bills fan in my life after that one... -
I will not pay to watch another Bills game
TheMadCap replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My brother was lamenting the fact that he spent 300 bucks on Sunday Ticket to watch the Bills. I told him that next year if he pays me he 300, I'll drive over to his house and kick him in the ballz every Sunday. He'll never be able to tell the difference! -
No, but constantly changing things in them does. I don't mind adding things to them. In fact, I am somewhat curious to see some of the deleted scenes that have rarely been seen. I understand the fat bullfrog is finally going to allow loyal fans the privalege of seeing the original beginning of ROTJ. It would please me greatly to see some of the stuff that was cut out: the sandstorm and Luke giving Vader his sabre during the death star duel in ROTJ, the footage of Luke and his friends at Tosche station from SW, the Wampa attack from ESB, but I guess we'll have to wait until the extra, super-duper, 4D, make you cream your Jeans version in 2027...

Oh HELL yeah they were. They are the only anamorphic release of the three SW movies that exist currently, and are my most prized possessions. This is what I will leave to my son. As for the rest of the SW stuff these days, after the disaster that was the "new" trilogy, I made a solemn vow that I would no longer be a party to shoving more quarters in George Lucas' fat cheeks. I bet he sits in his massive home theater at the Skywalker Ranch watching his digitally enhanced wedding videos. He probably digidatlly edited in with Chewbacca as his best man, while he giggles like a girl in his Ewok PJ's. Fukin one hit wonder...

agree 100%. Hell, I barely care about football now. I watch maybe one hour of football a week, college and pro. I refuse to pay DirecTV 400 bucks to get kicked in the ballz every sunday by the BIlls, so I have found better things to do with my time, like spend it with my two year old son. If the Bills did leave town, I would never, ever watch another NFL game again...

It's a indictment on the francise itself that so many fans are finally to the point of not caring anymore. Personally, last year's season opener was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. After sitting there shaking with rage for two hours, I realized I couldn't take it anymore. It's like a spouse that abuses you for many, many years, you just get so used to it that you don't see the dysfuntion anymore. I still love the Bills, I am happy when they win, but I don't get upset when you lose. In fact, I EXPECT them to lose now, and it's never been that way before last year. I know alot of Bills fans take the stance that it's better to have the Bills with all thier flaws than to have the team move, but I am not sure I agree anymore. I think that if management is not serious about winning and doing everything possible to win, then it's better to move on somewhere else. I can't believe I just said that. It's come to that point for me. Wow. And I thought 1985 was bad...

QB is clearly improved with Fitz. But I would even say that getting some kind of passrush would be more important than OL troubles at this point. We get NO pressure on the QB. NONE...

DirectTV deal VS Dish Network deal
TheMadCap replied to mikef292004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think I would disagree about DTV having the best service in terms of number of HD, and from what I hear thier DVR is light years better than anyone elses... But we have been considering changing over to Verizon FIOS tv due to the excellent price with the bundle. I really don't care to get Sunday Ticket anymore (we have a two year old and like to do stuff with him on sunday), and FIOS has Red-Zone and NHL Center Ice. The internet/phone/TV price with HD-DVR, and two other SD boxes is $116 a month, which goes up to $135 once the 6-month free HD-DVR deal expires, and there is no service agreement. This HD package is approximately equivalent to my DTV package in terms of channels. Yes, I know they likely don't have as many HD channels, but I really only watch Sports, NGC, Discovery, Sci-fi, etc, so they are all there. Between what we pay for phone/internet and DTV combined now, we would save ~70 bucks by getting the bundle, which isn't chump change for me. Does anyone else have any experience with FIOS tv, and can make recommendations? thanks! MadCap -
