  1. It is hard for me to mourn Cheers with the passing of Norm. Only two sitcoms moved me back then. The other was Sports Night. Both shows had excellent characters and superior writing. My father who had little tolerance of mass market TV back at those time, always watched Cheers. He was from the 1940’s – 50’s generation and his 4 brothers frequented bars. I was able to spend some time in his failing years and liquid lunch was always there. He showed me how or treat restaurant staff, Anyway, back to Cheers. Dad said you could basically go into any neighborhood saloon and see all the characters. Only the names change. In my research – good call Dad! Norm – R.I.P. I Play Cliff
  2. I have to call global warming out. When we moved to SOCAL it was after a bizarre winter 2001. Since we came back (2017) the winters are nothing like those of my youth. The towns are pretty good at services plowing, garbage, and mosr important police. The City of Buffalo or Niagara Falls - not so much. It's not even Memorial Day and my lilacs are in full bloom
  3. I have had the chance to live and work all over WNY; Rochester North & South, Buffalo Southtowns: East Aurora, OP and Cheektowaga, SUNY (Both campuses) and Amherst. Whwn I had to get an Security/Bond clearence - it was a SOB to remeber all the freaking addresses! Anyway, Barb & I moved to San Diego for work and the offer you cannot refuse. After 15 years, we decided to move back to WNY (Retirement). Housing and utilities are so much cheaper. We looked at properties in Amherst (Over developed), Wheatfield (way spread out) and then found a property on Grand island and built a modular home, Taxes are what rhey are but rhe quality of living is OK! Grand Island is very rural but 20 minutes betweem Tonawanda/Amherst and Niagara Falls. If you want snow - south of Broadway. Any questions - reach out!
  4. I only dealt in Marvel. Anything after 1972- 75 are fun but not valuable. Just like collectors cards - too many were printed. I still hold onto Star Wars #1 (1st edition) as there were many reprints. Ultimate favorite - Iron Man #200

  6. The paper and ultra violet coating became hard to duplicate if you were paying attention Last summer there were several people passing "Movie Money" at Hertel Avenue Bars. Packed bar - busy beyond belief - it happens - or collusion? https://propmoviemoney.com/pages/the-prop-money-guide

  13. Back in the day (mid 70's) - at the UB student run dormitory stores - they outsold Triscuts but were second to Cheese Nips. It was a pretty good cracker to handle dipping and/or cheese, The Nabisco rep could never understand. I thought it was the Long Island effect

  21. I seem to recall the previous attempt at heated seats did not end up so well In 1999 crews completed a seven-month stadium overhaul that included constructing 76 brand-new dugout suites and two new enclosed club sections each containing 500 seats. Fans in the dugout suites watch the action just 40 rows from the field. In addition, the Bills replaced 6,800 seats in the sideline club sections with revolutionary contoured heated seats, the first of their kind in North America. After a couple of seasons - the system faltered due to global warming (Ooops - I meant weather)
  22. Just in case you and your partner are not going to use all the tickets yourself - see what the Sabres are doing to ticket resellers.
