They can beat anyone and lose to anyone. When we had all the injuries after the 1st Miami win I thought the season was over. Losing White, Milano, and Jones in back to back weeks was tough. I really thought this was the best roster we’ve had under McDermott. Then the team stuttered. Fired the OC. I thought they of all apart and McDermott possibly lose his job. I predicted 7-10 when they were 6-6. Then they found their way. They figured out how to replace Milano and Douglas was playing as good as Tre at his best. Yes, I thought they could do it. Their depth was extremely thin at LB after Bernard went down but I still thought they could beat the Chiefs. I thought they had a shot to win it all. It was much like previous playoff losses. The defense crumbled. In a game we needed the healthy DL to step up they didn’t.

There’s going to be dead cap with Diggs at some point. Last year it cost us cap to move him or release him. This year we save cap. Dead cap is the ultimate no no but to me it’s about can he be replaced. The Diggs we saw the last couple months can be replaced. You also don’t want to wait too long to trade Diggs if it’s possible. I think it truly depends on Diggs. Take the June 1 date. June 1 last year the talk was loud surrounding Diggs. He had zero communication with the Bills and skipped all OTAs.

You don’t fire him for losing to the best team in his era.

I think anything that happens with Diggs depends on Diggs. But this shows how flexible the cap is.

Forget the dead cap. It’s pointless. Diggs is 31. We can replace Diggs with a much younger WR and backload the contract. You can realistically release Diggs and sign Tee Higgins and have it cost the same as keeping Diggs. The problem is Diggs age. If he were 27 we could just extend him or restructure. They could push this off a year and keep Diggs but it really depends on Diggs attitude this offseason.

Poyer, Hyde, and White. Gone. Morse is a tough one. Diggs really depends on Diggs. If he decides to act like last offseason then move on. Gabe Davis is probably gone depending on his market. There will be some significant changes. Probably much younger at these positions.

If the Bills move on from Diggs they can realistically sign a top WR in the offseason and back load the contract to have small cap hits early. Tee Higgins anyone?
