Amazing Have just watched the first season - OJ OMG - just unbelievable how great he was. He averaged 143 yds that season! No one ran like him before or since - Loved when they show Mercury Morris who was walking after he got body slammed then suddenly drops like he died right there on the field - "After a short departure Mr Morris would return" - They need to bring back the 1973 mascot - Billy Buffalo must die

Preseason Week 1 Giants at Bills - Game thread
stevewin replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree - of all his bad moments that was the worst imo, just jogging after the RB after he ran past - at least show some desire to recover after the initial fail. That was a lack of effort at the end, wouldn't expect that from a high round (high motor?) rookie trying to establish himself in his first live game At least I think the game should be a big wake up call for him -

These home broadcasts for preseason games are so bad. Imagine being a Giants fan and they basically ignore the Giants long TD pass - blathering on about the stadium 😛 -

Hamlin been sticking his head in there on run support -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
stevewin replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks. From some of the renderings I thought maybe there was glass over a large portion of the areas open to the outside to actually block the wind from entering the stadium along the concourse (and that the panels were more about confusing the wind from going up and over the exterior and into the stadium). It will be very interesting to see what the concourse feels like on a very cold windy day. -

So will there be parts of the outer rim of the concourse that will be open to the air (just perforated confusion panels on the outside) vs window/wall? Also wondering same thing about the space between the canopy and the upper deck along the top -
I think I hate the douchebag even more now - if that's even possible

Do the Bills Even Have a Hated Division Rival?
stevewin replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Funny - I was at a wedding in Seattle a couple weeks ago and my son and I were sitting around a firepit talking about the Bills. At one point another guy overheard "KC" and came into the conversation, saying how much he hates KC, then goes "but you guys won't like me because I'm a Patriots** fan". I suppressed the urge to say "No - I don't care at all about you because you're totally irrelevant" - out of respect for the joyous occasion and because, well, he was totally irrelevant. -
I didn't want to be the one to say it 😛

Just discovered there's a Hard Knocks podcast - hosted by Siciliano. First ep has Fitz as guest. Just started watching Edit: Finished watching. A lot of rehash initially that will be nothing new for Bills fans - but Fitz portion is worth the watch

Hard Knocks crew going to be at Skoobs in downtown Lancaster today with Andreesen and his family. Looking forward to seeing what they include in the next episode. Skoob (the proprieter) is an old friend of mine from HS and a great dude - he could have his own storyline
-
The other nice thing that is easy to forget is that it's only two weeks - it's not like they are spending the entire pre-season there. A short period to have the bonding etc then it's back to Buffalo and business as usual up to the start of the season

So it was bloody Meat(head)

Smelling Salts NOT Banned by NFL - (updated scents!)
stevewin replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
A couple years ago we got passes to go down on the field after the game. One thing I couldn't believe was how many used smelling salt packets were on the actual playing field -
Good call. I had forgotten about Burrow's little paleontology lesson in the QB show - I knew Josh's thing reminded me of something specific from one of these shows
-
You may have hit on something - let Josh appear in a loincloth - sure to improve ratings. 'Hard Knocks: Josh Allen Naked and Unafraid'
-
I feel like that was Josh having fun and doing a bit for the cameras - that he had it planned beforehand as an inside joke
-
Tboight they might have some dorm room stuff playing cards etc but I realized they probably shut down the filming by then each day. And no turkey burgers
-
I didn't mention the rehearsal b/c I knew it's not for everyone - but I love it. HBO also has all the old Nathan For You eps which was the precursor. Anyone who is a Fielder fan should also check out The Curse (Paramount+ and Hulu now) which is full fielder crazy. The last episode might be the most crazy bonkers ending of any TV show I've ever seen.

The Wire is one of those shows that actually lives up to its hype as one of the best shows ever made imo. Other classics on there are Curb Your Enthusiasm and Veep. Would also recommend Barry. Succession is a more recent show that also got a lot of acclaim

In most recent Babich PC he was talking up Lewis. Someone asked about the difficulty of Hancock picking up two positions, and he basically said tough - 'your job is to know multiple positions in the NFL, this isn't a college roster, no excuses, figure it out, this is pro football' - and he said about Lewis 'Cam Lewis plays a lot of positions, he never makes an excuse, he wants to do everything right, and he works at it, and he's as tough as they come. What a great example for a guy (Hancock) that has to do multiple things, position versatility is going to add value to you. And here's a guy who all these things and he's sitting right next to you' The fact that Babich is calling out Lewis as someone Hancock can learn from and emulate shows how much ahead Lewis is at this point.

I was at this practice and saw some of the water bottle back and forth between tre and this kid and was wondering what was going on (missed how it started) - went on most of practice
-
IMO lack of discipline and good culture and strong leadership (starting with the HC) is also a big element with that team folding in cold weather and when things get tough
-
Such weird phrasing - after the first sentence I pictured a halfback option and Josh sprinting down the field past the D hauling in a 70-yd bomb from the RB with the crowd going bonkers and Hard Knocks crews falling over themselves to catch up
