Agreed. good post. When judging whether or not to re-sign a player, you do not take into consideration their draft position. That is foolish. Fans are still complaining becasue they are butt hurt because they wanted Ngata. Good arguement, but i'll say that you can scratch Brad Johnson and Mark rypien off your "no-name" QB list. Sure, they were relatively pedestrian during their careers, but in the seasons their teams won the Super Bowl, both of those guys were playing at a pro bowl level.

Sure, its a bigger deal for a smaller operation like the Wood brothers to leave a car at the track, but the money will more than make itself up due to the win. As for the car, that car was most likely designed to run the restrictor plate races (2 at Talladega and 1 more at the July Daytona race), so it wasn't going to be run much more this season. Its not as if they were planning on loading it up and racing that car next week.

Yeah, Ralph never spends money on players. We didn't give huge conracts to Evans, Moulds, Schobel, etc just to name a few. Ralph may not spend wisely on coaches, but you guys and your "ralph is cheap" whining is nothing more than that: whining.

What is it about Bowers' game that you dislike? I've seen him a good amount down here in ACC-land, and i watch him terrorize us (FSU, with one of the best OLs in the nation) this past season. He's big enough to play 3-4 DE (275-280 depending on what you believe), and a consistent pass rusher/disrupter. He recorded sacks in all but 2 games last season, so its not as if he piled up numbers against 1-AA schools.

If we get a few players of Dwan Edwards caliber that wouldn't be the worst. The FO seems to be happy with Bell-Levitre-Wood-(insert Urbik, etc here). I see them taking another shot at RT again this season, and wouldn't be surprised to see some help at CB and LB added. We'll also get the usual 3-4 purely depth players as well. Its gotta be nice knowing you'll always be right!

Gotta disagree Rico. I'd say Parvati is probably the best survivor ever (not to mention one of the hottest). Yes she used her looks, but she was also really intelligent and knew how to play people as well as performing pretty damn good in the challenges. She was never afraid to make the big move when necessary, and it usually paid off. Probably the best social player in the game. Also, if you guys remember Jonathan Penner (he was on the season where they split by race, and then again on fans vs favorites), he was in the 90s movie Down Periscope.
