  1. For salary cap purposes, the 5 mil is still spread over the 5 years. For cash purposes, it counts towards this year. Think of it as almost having 2 limits. A 90% lower limit (with a ceiling) for the salary cap, as it used to be. But now, there's a lower limit for the amount of cash a team must spend. Previously, teams could be near the cap without spending a lot of cash. So if the numbers out there are correct, each team must be between $108-120 million in salary cap dollars, but your books for 2011 must show that you spent at least $120 million in actual cash paid out to players during that calendar year, regardless of your cap figure.
  2. From what i have been reading, the salary cap floor withh be 90%, but the amount of cash spent by each team must be at or near 100% of the cap. As far as i know, Danny boy in washington can still spend over the cap in actual cash. Buffalo wont necessarily go on a spending spree, because they can simply front load new contracts to meet the cash lower limit in any given year. Plus, we need to extend Stevie, Fitz, etc.
  3. Game wise: T-Mac's INT and KO return for TDs against cincy on Christmas Eve. Marshawn Lynch rumbling 55 yards to seal a win against Cincy (another time). Jason Peters' blocked punt/TD against cincy a 3rd time. Sad when all of the highlight moments happen against the same sad-sack team.
  4. So the Bills suck when they don't re-sign their free agents and let them go, but when we do re-sign our free agents, the free agent must suck or else they'd wait for free agency?
  5. Does anyone know the ROI on research money used by East German scientists studying truculent triceratops?
  6. Seeing how there's a commercial break already after every score, i don't see how this will be a problem or will add on a significant amount of time.
  7. Thoughts and prayers are with ya, Scooter.
  8. Shall i point out that you were the one running your mouth about how the Bills were never going to be able to, or not going to be willing to re-sign Merriman? Sounds like you're simply looking for reasons to bash the bills for anything and everything, as usual.
  9. I gotta say that PKs are quite possibly the worst way to end any game in any sport.
  10. This is the most asinine argument ever spouted about any LB. The vast majority of offensive plays results in a net gain of yardage, so where exactly are the defenders supposed to make tackles?
  11. You definitely keep Poz. All good teams have good solid players to mix in with superstars. The best thing to do is find a better player to play with Poz. He's not part of the problem. Letting him walk simply creates more holes we need to fill, and we all see how well that has worked for us in the last 10 years. You work on replacing guys like Torbor and Ayodele, not Poz.
  12. You heard me. The US women's team would beat the US men's team. Especially if there was something on the line. The men's team folds like a lawn chair in the clutch.
  13. If you're playing as Miami, then they managed an accurate representation of the crowd down there for most games.
  14. IF i was forced to bet, i'd bet on the US women beating the US men's team. And not even close. The men's team is abysmal and an absolute disgrace to the United States.
  15. So Wisconsin prints "Made in Honduras" or "Made in Guatemala" on their USA made jerseys?
  16. My girl has a degree in meteorology and Spanish so i asked her. She said that there's 2 PC terms normally used for developmentally disabled, either "El gato grande" or "La Sageagainstthemachine"
  17. I'd rather the clerk fire 5 too many shots than 1 too few.
  18. This thread is hilarious. Gotta love the frothing lunacy of the few posters who are sooooo mad at a minimal risk/maximum gain re-signing. Bucky Brooks is off his rocker. Signing someone at 2.5 mil is not desperation. Its a shrewd move that may pay off big time, and if it doesn't pan out, there was minimal loss.
  19. Soccer officiating is an embarrassment. Furthermore, any player carted off needs to have to sit for a pre-determined length of game time. You need to be carted off, you sit for 10 or 15 minutes, and your team either uses 1 of their subs, or plays short-handed. The officiating and what Brazil did was sickening, and is the biggest reason why 98% of people in the US think soccer blows. At least they got theirs.
  20. Would like to, but i'm getting it for the PS3.
  21. It's very simple. If the customer decides that they are being overcharged, and are willing to seek other outlets to get the material they want, the industry needs to either a) shut down all opportunities at the "other outlets" or b) readjust their business model. (a) has proven to be both costly and largely ineffective, especially when dealing with overseas issues. So (b) seems to be the way to go. If NFL stitched "authentic" jerseys (not the iron on crap they sell for 75) were $75 here in the states, you'd see very few people buying knockoffs. But instead, they overcharge $300 for one, most which is pure markup. The fights with the recording industry of the last 10 years totally changed that industry and forced them to "get with the times," and now there's a reasonable model in place for people to acquire and listen to music at a decent price people are willing to pay. The NFL needs to follow.
  22. Can we send the Women's WC team to Brazil in 2012? They'd play better and have a better chance of winning than the band of invalid mouth-breathing retards we normally send to the men's world cup.
  23. Well, to be fair, Hines Ward hadn't been relevant on the field in about 4 years.
  24. I usually use paypal to get my stuff. I've found they take about 10 days to ship.
  25. The sign in Miami idea wouldn't work because no one could read it.
