  1. Oh, so Ponder's 7 total INT's this season were the reason our defense was ranked something like 108th in the nation? The noles defense gave up 35 or more points in 5 games this year, and all of those were from ponder's 7 interceptions? Is it Ponder's fault Jarmon Fortson dropped the winning TD against miami? Is it Ponder's fault that our defense allowed 49 points against GT, in a game where he threw for over 400 yards and put 44 points up? This isn't college basketball. There's no such thing as a "signature win." But i suppose, in your simpleton distorted world, Ponder could toss 5 int's against UF but have our defense pitch a shutout, and score a TD for a 7-0 win. Would that count as a "signature win" for Ponder? Rating a college QB on wins and losses is asinine, especially when said QB led his conference in passing. You must simply be a pissed off gator fan, pissed that alabama whooped your ass and made your pansy B word QB cry like a girl on the sidelines. That would explain your severe irrationality against Ponder.
  2. Offense - Bennie Anderson Defense - Eddie Robinson, for no other reason other than anyone who gets their jock deked off by lead footed Chad Pennington deserves to be on the list.
  3. There's not a lot coming out of FSU this year, but i'm still here with some write-ups and analysis if anyone would like.
  4. So its Ponder's fault that FSU's defense was one of the worst in the nation? Ponder gave up 35+ points 5 times last season himself? Funny, Ponder got hurt this season and missed 3 games, yet still led the ACC in passing. I'm not saying he's a sure fire bet to be a great NFL QB. But he does have the appropriate skill set to succeed at the next level. Because that's what you base a player's potential on, their skill set, not their ability to "win." But, if you'd like, i can come up with a list over the past 2 seasons of last minute game winning drives he's had. I believe the number is 4 or 5 in that span.
  5. So, using your lahjik, we should avoid any and all OU QBS as well, because they've done jack squat in the NFL. So why is Bradford any better? Never mind the fact that Ponder is working and has worked under an entirely different system than Bowden ran for all his years here.
  6. Don't sleep on Christian Ponder from FSU. The guy is going to be a good QB in this league. He can move, make all the throws, and most importantly, is extremely intelligent. As for Locker, i trust the Draft committee's grades over anything some draftdouche like Kiper or McShay says.
  7. Just a couple of quick hits, after a lot of you guys had some real nice writeups: What if Jacob is bad in this entire scenario? We're led to believe he's the "good" force in this battle, but its quite possible they pull a 180 and make jacob the bad guy. Maybe Littleton is crossed off the list in the cave because it's aaron and he didn't come back to the island. (at least during normal time, not sideways reality). Lapidus seems to have a Charon (from mythology, the boatkeeper who ferried souls across the river styx)-type of role, ferrying the Lostaways back and forth to and from the island. I have no doubt that he'll pop up in sideways reality in some type of role.
  8. Because thigpen played pretty damn good for the Chiefs 2 years ago. The only reason they didnt keep him was because Pioli had a woodie over matt cassel.
  9. I've been hearing quite abit about the Mizzou to the Big 10(eleven) rumors for a bit now, but this is the first i've heard of Colorado leaving. My question is, why would the Big 12 be in trouble if 2 middling teams like Colorado and mizzou left? Wouldn't it be easy for the Big 12 to snag TCU and either Boise/Utah? They'd actually be gaining strength. I see the Big 10 (eleven) adding 1 team and then gaining a conference championship (something i think all BCS conferences should be required to have). Most of the other rumors i have heard involve TCU to the big 12, and some combo of Boise/BYU/Utah to the Pac-10. The only conference that would really be hurting after all of this potential movement would be the Big Least. There aren't enough top tier teams left in the east to add 4 teams to that conference
  10. perhaps you could try typing in the same size font as the rest of us.
  11. And they got 2 solid "football guys" in Nix and Whaley. Every sign points to Nix making all of the football decisions, as opposed to DJ and the committee from the past 4 years. Just because Brandon was GM doesn't mean he was making the decisions all by himself. Perhaps you simply don't understand how management works. Brandon got promoted so he oversees all team operations. That doesnt mean that he's got his nose in every final decision. Higher ups in any company aren't involved in the smaller, day-to-day operations. Parallel it to your work. Does your franchise manager come by the store and turn on the fryer and drop the fries everyday? Probably not, because thats your job. He oversees everything. But think of the plus side of these moves. In a few years if the Bills promote Whaley to GM, you get to B word about Ralph not seeking outside people all over again.
  12. Your obsession with Donte Whitner is bordering on the unhealthy.
  13. Interesting episode again, after what i thought was a lackluster premiere. I think i liked this episode much better because they went back to story development as opposed to the straight "introduction" mode of the premiere. That being said, i'm not sold on Dogen's group at the Temple. They are all too creepy and sketchy, in a season 1-2 "others" kind of way. Maybe its Dogen's way of acting, or the fact that they all follow what exactly he says without questioning it. there's something very odd about that group. I think there's a serious conflict of what they deem as "good" versus what The Losties deem as "good". They've got that whole attitude towards the Losties as "you're not supposed to be here, but since you are, you're not leaving" that we saw from the Others in earlier seasons. Thusfar, the Losties seem to be the onyl group of people involved with the island to consider themselves "special". Dharma, Others, and the Templites all feel like or think they are "chosen" to be on the island. Interesting appearance of Ethan tied in again with Aaron. In one way/time or another, he's hell bent on being around or getting his hands on that kid. Obviously fate has shown that the paths of the sideways reality Losties was destined to cross paths in very similar ways to their island life. I'm not sure yet how this is going to tie in with the Island losties, or if it is going to be a direct link or an indirect/alternate type of interaction. On a somewhat related note, i wonder if they are going to re-visit or make note of Claire and her psychic with the "dont let someone else raise him" angle. Claire on the jungle was a bit of a shock. She looked like rosseau and acted like her too. Perhaps Claire is searching for Aaron in the same way that Rosseau was searching for Alex? I think Claire is under the "dark" influence. She followed Christian into the jungle when we last saw her, and i got a good feeling that Christian (throughout the series on the island) is the "Dark man" in disguise. Finally, i've got a hypothesis on the series end. I was talking with the girlfriend while watching it, and she thinks that the surprise ending if going to be that the Losties stay "happily ever after" on the island. After all, that would be a shocker. Playing off that, and since the series has been about repeating/recurring themes, i think that the Losties are going to become the new "Others" and that the series is going to end with some new group arriving on the island and the Losties acting like the original Others did when the Losties arrived.
  14. I know I was at the Bud shootout in Daytona with some friends and we got up at 4 to see the launch from the beach. Then it got scrubbed.
  15. Funny. I thought that arrogant, blowhard asshat Josh McDaniels didn't need a QB like Cutler, and could "win with Kyle Orton."
  16. Overhand, from the front of the roll.
  17. No offensive line will amount to anything unless future HOFer Justin Geisinger is on the roster.
  18. Care to explain what 24 other DEs supposedly "better" than Schobel dominate 16 games per year? Most of the "elite" DEs rack up big sack numbers in just a couple of games.
  19. Mods, if you could leave this here for a day or 2 before banishing it to the consumer digest, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the market for a new laptop and was wondering some opinions on getting a smaller ultrathin laptop versus one of the bigger standard laptops. I'm not too keen on the fact that most laptops made now are monstrous, with 15" screens and larger. I've been looking at the smaller setups (not a netbook), like the 11-13" models with crazy battery life, but my only qualm with those is that they lack an optical drive. I'd have to pick up an external USB DVD drive. My current setup in an old HP with a 14" screen, and since i've been looking in stores, the 15.6" screens just seem too big to comfortably sit in your lap. So, any thoughts on one setup versus another? Has anyone used the smaller ultrathins? I dont mid getting the external drive, but then you have to lug it along when you travel. But, this may be a better alternative to having to carry a giant laptop everywhere. For what its worth, since i'm out of school, i'm looking for an all-around laptop. It'd be used for net surfing, bill paying, MS office, music, pictures, and some gaming (not hardcore, and not really any crazy online gaming, just the simpler DVD based 1 player games). I travel a couple times per year via air and then a bunch of other times by car. Thanks in advance!
  20. Come on sphere o beer, you can pull through.
  21. Let's ignore the fact that buffalo tried to get Pickett, but he turned down our offer and chose green bay instead.
  22. Lets all pray for his improvement. in the name of the bruschi, the tebow, and the Holy spirit, Amen.
  23. I was so glad to see rex the hutt get his ass handed to him today. The jests were nothing more than lucky this season and will fall back down to earth next season.
  24. I'm one of the most optimistic people out here, and this would be a tough pill to swallow. Retaining jauron and making no significant player personnel acquisition last offseason push me to the edge. Chan Gailey as HC just might break me. It seems as if Ralph is hell bent on running this team into the ground.
