  1. When he blew up the Fins LT on that one play, I was cheering for the guy. I'm glad we brought him back.
  2. lol hell no
  3. Very sorry to hear that, BW...you were smart to post about it here. When I lost my little guy in February I was truly devastated. Knowing that so many people here on TBD were not only dog lovers, but also had experienced the very same pain, really helped me through it. The pain is typically intense enough that it really does make you wonder if it was even worth it....but it is, and it was. Sounds like you gave King a damn good life. You went the responsible route and got him chipped in order to protect him from himself, and that was awesome. You were there to help him in his time of need, and you were there by his side until the end. You'll never forget those last few moments, but you'll change the way you look at them. At first, the last thing I wanted to do was get another dog. But a few months later, a good friend of mine started talking about getting one for herself. So I sort of cheated...I encouraged her and promised her I'd help raise him the right way, and not long after that she came home with a little furry guy. Over the last few months I have been very active with his upbringing. We got him housebroken in no time, taught him a few tricks, instilled in him some confidence, etc. He's become my new little buddy and I really couldn't imagine not being around him. I don't feel at all like I've replaced the little friend I lost, in fact just the opposite. I feel like I'm honoring my dog by taking care of another furry friend just as I took care of him. Now I'm not going to lie to you....as I'm typing this and thinking about February, it hurts quite a bit. But even with the pain I still wouldn't change a damn thing. The whole idea of "it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all" sounds like total bulllshit when you're in the thick of the pain....but I promise you it holds true in the end. Hang in there, brother
  4. Wow, that's surprising...she does seem to fall back on the loyalty thing. Denise is my favorite. If I were a team captain picking a team, I'd pick her first. She's outperformed nearly everyone in every physical challenge. On top of that, she's playing very smart.
  5. I don't get the impression that Penner is all that popular, but he's the kind of guy I like having on the show because 1) he's very smart, 2) he says interesting things, and 3) he PLAYS THE GAME lol. I can't stand these people who get comfortable in an alliance, and then each week it's always clear who is the sitting duck....you watch them get picked off one by one just like last year. This season is the total opposite...there is a lot that is up in the air, to the degree that someone smart like Penner can take advantage and move some pieces around. Who did Lisa vote for? I wasn't looking at the screen when Artis was giving his farewell speech (which I thought was major class).
  6. What a beautiful goal....he's had a few of those over the last year or two that were just amazing. Just saw the extended highlights....some floppy haired guy named "Mix" puts in the most unlikely shot I've ever seen for the tie LOL...somehow I've missed who this guy is, but I like him! Based on those highlights, Russia should have won that match by like three goals. They had opportunity after opportunity but their shots were just weak enough for Howard to make the save.
  7. I love hearing from casual fans....that indicates that you enjoy the game for the game's sake, not because of what you know about it. That's how I started becoming a fan of soccer when I was a kid. I remember back when I was really young, I had a little black and white tv in my bedroom. I'd often sneak it on past my bedtime because there was this UHF channel that I could get in (if I moved the antenna just right lol) that would have european soccer matches on. I didn't know any of the players, never heard of the teams, but I just loved watching. I started playing when I was 5 years old, so the enjoyment I got from actually playing combined with my growing interest to watch it on tv really propelled my fascination with the sport. But anyway, always nice to have casual fans stopping in....we always have a good time in these threads, especially during the WC! Gringo: Thanks man!!
  8. Probably my favorite episode of the season so far. I can't believe how much better this cast is than last year. It makes such a difference when you have INTERESTING people. I thought Penner's talk with Lisa was awesome...great moment. I wanted to see more of Artis cause he seemed like a really good dude, but I'm glad Penner stayed. I wish one of those two boring guys would have gone home instead....the guy with the blonde hair and the other younger guy. But this season has played out EXACTLY as I'd hoped, with the tribal bonds being way looser than in the past. They need to keep shifting and shuffling like they did this season. Really interesting episode, really fun season so far.
  9. I wonder if he can catch....
  10. I was very happily enjoying RedZone today until I saw this play...I immediately came online and fumed about this in the gameday thread. That was INEXCUSABLE!
  11. He coached Romo during his transition to starter...coached Pennington to his best statistical year...supposedly coached Fiedler into a productive starter...helped Miami develop the wildcat...
  12. What Rubes said...
  13. Yes, you should absolutely go see a doc.
  14. Yep, and there were several plays were CJ was making people whiff right and left....why not give our best players the opportunity to win the game? Relying out a rookie WR who had "issues" earlier in the season that prevented him from getting on the field, or letting our THIRD STRING QB throw an ill-advised pass into the endzone is maddening.
  15. David Lee and Fitz both have track records. One of them is a record of succes, the other one...not so much. I'll let you figure out which belongs to whom.
  16. Coming into today's game.... Fred Jackson: 59 carries for 218 yds (3.7 ypc) and 1 TD CJ Spiller: 78 carries for 562 yds (7.2 ypc) and 4 TD Clearly Chan is BRILLIANT to give Fred twice as many carries...we're just being silly.
  17. First of all, you can save the condescending attitude...I'm sure you're enamored with all of Chan's amazing success as a head coach in his previous tenures and you'd like to keep him here for many years to come, but there are many others who can pretty clearly see he's an OC who is out of his depth as a HC. But you keep touting how Chan isn't the problem....sooner or later you'll know exactly who doesn't know what they're talking about.
  18. When a coach fails to utlize what is clearly the best player on the team, and one of the breakout players in the entire NFL, he's got a major malfunction. Just like when he called a Brad Smith PASS to the endzone when he could have run the clock down earlier in the year...and just like when he continues to put Fitz in empty backfield sets over and over and over, when all CJ does is gain yards and make plays. It's week after week....he clearly has no clue. How many years do you want to give this idiot?
  19. Exactly. Chan's gotta go.
  20. Sorry, but until our idiot head coach stops pretending he's smarter than everyone else and STOPS relying on people like Brad Smith and TJ Graham to win games, we're not going to improve. Why the fug do we have players like CJ and Stevie if we're not going to rely on them at the most crucial times? How the HELL can can CJ have NINE DAMN CARRIES??? How can this idiot continue to under-utilize Spiller week after week after week? It's completely idiotic and that's why I watch the damn red zone channel instead of the Bills games anymore.
  21. LOL....well done I've said it before, but it's worth repeating....if the NCAA went to a legit playoff like that, I could see myself becoming a bigger fan of college ball than I am of the NFL. My interest in the college game would extend well beyond the SEC (right now I focus mainly on this conference) and I would look forward to Saturdays as much or more so than Sundays.
  22. Can anyone give me a reasonable explanation as to why Kyle Moore was covering Gronk on that last TD? I'm sorry, but this team just continues to exemplify stupidity.
  23. That makes no sense whatsoever.
  24. That pass he dropped in there just before his TD pass was unreal. Three red shirts in the area and he throws a beautiful ball where only his guy can catch it. I rewound that a few times just to get another look. And then that TD pass...this kid is the most impressive freshman I've seen in a long time. He's gonna be a good one. I agree about the height thing...hard to believe he's 6'1.
