  1. This was the first time I've seen him, but I could easily tell that he had strong potential for becoming annoying lol
  2. I was watching some show on Animal Planet (River Monsters or something like that?) and it reminded me of the time I went whale watching. When I was in the 10th grade, my family and I got to take a trip to Hawaii for a couple weeks. During our stay we took a charter and went whale watching. Over the next couple hours I would be completely amazed at the immensity and beauty of several humpback whales who had taken interest in our group. I don't ever remember being in such complete awe of a living being. To this day, it remains one of the most incredible experiences of my life and one of my favorite memories. Anyway, I thought I'd check on youtube to see what videos others had posted, and there was some really cool stuff! Here's just a few of the best ones I found. These whales aren't quite as massive as the humpbacks I got to see, but still pretty cool! Also, if any of you guys have ever been, please say a few words about your experience...would be great to hear!
  3. lol, you can say that again
  4. Kirk > JarJar > Picard
  5. So true...it's always sad when you hear about people dying, but when it's kids it just affects us on a whole other level. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but it wasn't until a few years ago when I realized just how far reaching the efforts of the Red Cross were. Pretty amazing organization and I agree that Trace winning so much money to donate to them is a great thing.
  6. I've been in several tornadoes from when I lived in Kansas and it's scary as hell. It was NOTHING like what these people are going through, so I can't even fathom how awful this is for all affected. I had no idea that this many people had been killed, and hearing about children drowning just sinks my heart...
  7. lmao...you should be filming this for youtube
  8. Heck yeah, screw the bird lol. I was ready to reach out and grab the damn thing with my bare hands by the third day of that crap... Good luck! (BTW, they told us to put the foil on the inside of the window)
  9. No idea, really....I think it was the apartment office who told us to do that, cause apparently it's a problem they encounted from time to time. It was driving me nuts cause it was smacking into the window right above my bed, starting around 515am every morning and it just would-not-stop. The foil fixed it immediately and after I took it down a few days later he never came back.
  10. On the Rich Eisen podcast a few weeks ago they were talking about how the NFL is interested in having more "regional combines" prior to the draft, and how that was one of the biggest factors in potentially moving the draft. Don't remember much of the details, but they did spend a fair bit of time talking about it. I'm with you, though...April never comes fast enough once the season ends...waiting another month is going to suck!
  11. We had a bird like that last year and were told to put foil up in the window for a few days...sure enough, it stopped once we did. Not sure if that's feasible in your situation, but it worked for us.
  12. I loved the point Mario made about how if someone he cared about ever mentioned anything to do with suicidal thoughts, he would have acted on that and tried to get that person some help...and that his ex did nothing of the sort. Mario 1, biznitch 0
  13. I love Freddy, but if he keeps fumbling the ball then he needs to go. Injuries happen and you can't hold that against the guy, but the fumbling is another issue. Especially if we start EJ, we can't have a RB who turns the ball over like that. CJ is going to have a huge year.
  14. She knocked her first single out of the park?
  15. Can't wait to listen to the show tonight...obviously it's way early, but I think a lot of us just have a feeling that we picked a special player in Robert Woods. Tavon Austin may end up being the next big playmaker in the league, but it wouldn't surprise me if Wood became a more prolific receiver with all sorts of "clutch".
  16. Very cool...it's really interesting how many educational institutions and health systems are putting out podcasts...just furthers my view that you can find pretty much anything you could possibly be interested in.
  17. Cause people link to his blog in the threads. DUH!
  18. I work with a huge FSU fan, and he said that FSU's qB coach is not very well regarded and that Jimbo Fisher's offense is not very user friendly, so to speak. Also, I think it's important to note that EJ isn't saying he's got the offense down...he's saying that it's "easier to pick up". Some people seem to be misinterpreting his comments.
  19. Giddy-up, granny....woooohoooo!!!!
  20. Yeah, but you could also just say that Idol has fallen so far from grace that even a singer who will end up beign nothing more than a singer in a coctail lounge selling peanuts can win the show
  21. Ptannuzzo, thanks for sharing those...much appreciated! For having been sick with a head cold and sinus infection this weekend, I had an absolute blast with my podcasts. I can't miss any work, so I wanted to rest as much as possible in order to get better before tomorrow, so having all these shows to listen to was just what the doctor ordered. I am loving this Steve Austin podcast...the guy has me cracking up, talking about how he gets the "screamin' sh*ts" when he's in mexico, to how he struggled early on in the wrestling biz, to talking about some of the films and other projects he's involved with these days. Aside from that I spent some time with the Nerdist, cause some of his guests are some of my favorite people. My only issue with that one is that Hardwick isn't as engaging as I figured he'd be. I find him a little on the boring side, and the degree to which I enjoy the show is largely dependent on who he has on. Slate's Spoiler Specials is another one I've been enjoying, where he reviews films with spoiler discussion, so the episodes are meant to be listened to after you've seen the movie. Dr Drew had a recent episode with Doug Benson on, which was really good, in addition to Benson's "Doug Loves Movies" podcast. Messed around a bit with Alex Jones, but that guy is just a bit too intense for me lol. Anyway, I feel as if I was able to be entertained to a high degree while also getting plenty of rest trying to feel better...good times!!
  22. I really thought his reboot was brilliant. He very cleverly got his story arc out from under that of the original films and gave himself a wide open universe where he could take the story. That's the main reason why I'm so disappointed...I think he totally wasted the opportunity he gave himself. I've seen the 2009 film several times, though, and enjoy it on repeat viewings. He's a huge star wars nerd...I really think the upcoming films are in very good hands. Yep, that's how I felt when I read it. Sometimes you read reviews and can tell that they're just nitpicking for the sake of having something negative to say...but he makes some great points that mirror my own criticisms of the film, in addition to several other points that I hadn't even thought of. Overall, his review is spot on, IMO.
  23. I really think this one had the potential to be great, but he should have followed up on the groundwork he put down in 2009...I just don't get it. I just came across this review, and he hits on a few points that exactly echo my sentiments. For anyone who hasn't seen the film, I suggest NOT reading this review cause it has spoilers: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/62468
  24. I saw Star Trek last night...it's hard for me to say this because I really enjoyed the first one, and I'm also a huge fan of JJ, but he took this movie a few places he just shouldn't have. I expected something completely different given the direction he took the first one...it's almost like he abandoned the vision he set up with part one, even though it was a GREAT vision, IMO. Regretfully, this one gets a big thumb's down from me. (Although Im still very excited to see what he does with Star Wars!)
