  1. Have these people no shame?!
  2. Wow, what an amazing experience...can't wait to see the video!!!
  3. This is why I'm completely against the idea of dropping dodgeball from high school gym class. Too many prominent figures grow up to become douches, it's unfair to take away our opportunity earlier in life to launch a few off their pie holes.
  4. He is planning to break ground on the official "Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too" http://politicker.com/2013/06/mayor-bloomberg-to-kids-learn-to-speak-grammar-or-you-wont-succeed/ Does this guy ever actually do anything pertaining to his job description, or does he just like to threaten to take away people's pop and pain medication?
  5. What I can't figure out is how we're winning games without Prima Donovan?
  6. I want to see that for sure A few months ago I was up late and came across this movie on HBO called "Bug"...it had M.Shannon and Ashley Judd so I checked it out. Not a great movie by any means, but the performance he gave was just unreal. It's worth watching just for that. He tends to have a real knack for "psychologically edgy" characters. Take Shelter was another great performance. Cant wait to see Iceman.
  7. Big win for team USA! Altidore with 2nd goal in two matches, but looks like he'll be out for at least the next one due to a hammy. Nice win for the good guys!
  8. Oh man, Borat and Bruno are two of my favorite comedies of all time...I've always loved prank type stuff cause they often serve as a social commentary. He took that to a whole other level and made me laugh harder than I have at any other film.
  9. Long Live Freddie!!!! I grew up on Queen music and, as Tom has pointed out many times, he's the greatest front man of all-time....I can't wait to see the biopic they're putting together with Sacha Baron Cohen...
  10. I'm glad it's not just me who is struggling with the Nerdist...I look over the guest list from the past year, and it's just incredible the number of people that appeal to me...but I agree, hardwick just struggles to keep it engaging. Stone Cold has me cracking up...I love when he has a guest on, cause you can hear him trying to be professional and develop his interviewing skills. I have always enjoyed stories about the business and psychology of wrestling, even though I dont pay attention to the matches much anymore. The "behind the scenes" stuff is pretty fascinating, though. The dude is just real, and the way you described his show is spot on. His podcast has been a big surprise for me...it's definitely one I listen to often. Ross Tucker is good about hitting the news of the day and he keeps it short, usually to 30 min or just under. I don't feel like he's trying to force a lot of "filler" in there, which is partly why I enjoy it. Check out the Florio one if you get a chance...I've only listened to two of his so far, but he seems to do a good job of getting a lot done in a short time, as well. And heck yeah, even though I've never been a diehard Howard guy, I have always enjoyed the way he keeps things fresh and entertaining. I was looking for a Stern podcast, but I guess he doesnt have one....maybe because he's under contract with XM or Sirius or whatever?
  11. If any of you guys are looking for other good NFL podcasts, not only is the Ross Tucker one I mentioned earlier very good, but Mike Florio also has one that is excellent. I found it last night and he gets a lot done in 40 min. He had a great interview with Doug Whaley from last week. The two that are most frustrating for me right now are the Nerdist and the Grizzly one....both have topics and/or guests that sound GREAT, but I tend to get bored when I actually listen to them...frustrating!
  12. I agree...I can't wait to see what he does with the character. I may need to take a trip to theater for this one
  13. Man of Steel will be worth seeing if for no other reason than Michael Shannon. I've really become a fan of his as of late and he's entered into that very small list of actors whose films I will see simply because they are in them. He's going to be a brilliant General Zod.
  14. The best part of his performance was the audience reaction....as soon as he levitates, they cut to this guy out in the crowd who jumps back in his seat and gets this look on his face that was classic! I can't wait to see what this guy does next lol. I agree about that girl....how the HELL can she only be 10??? She is much taller than most 10 y.o.s that I know, and she speaks like she's at least 14 or even older. Very odd. Good call about the robotic behavior, as well. Something was definitely strange about that act... I'm glad this show is back...I think I missed it more than I thought. I love how you just never know what you're going to see next, and Howard has pulled off this gig like a champ. He's a great judge!
  15. Feliz cumpleanos, mafuggahs!!!
  16. I got $50 on Special Head
  17. Francesco Totti's thumb > Data > Picard
  18. Exactly and I'm sick to death of always having to draft CBs...we have one who looks to be a stud, so let him develop a bit more and solidify his status as a top young corner, and then pay the kid his market value when the time is right. I'll take a top 10 corner over a top 10 safety any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  19. I'm on record plenty of times in support of the players doing whatever they have to do in order to earn their money. These guys put their health on the line for our entertainment and I typically side with them every time there is some sort of negotiation. But you dont get to just pick and choose the points at which your market value is established. Byrd was paid as a 2nd round draft pick and he had four years under contract to establish his worth for when he was allowed to become a free agent. That time is now...it wasn't his rookie year, or his second year, or whatever. Terms were set up front, those terms have expired, and now Jairus can make a splash.
  20. Thanks for posting, Brawndo! Nice read! They need to take the check they have ready to give to our free safety, change the name, and put it aside for a year or two for this kid...Byrd is a nice luxury, but Gilmore will likely end up being a necessity.
  21. Ever since hearing his interview on the John Murphy show a month or so ago, I've just been really impressed with the guy. He certainly has the mindset of a leader and I like this pick-up more now than I did when we first signed him. You just never would have guessed that he hadn't been our QB for years when listening to that interview...far more impressive than Fitzy ever came off, IMO. Kolb may end up being a turf magnet here just as much as he was in Arizona, but I feel pretty good about our QB position. I like our trade for TJax, too, but that's another story...
  22. Based on what I've read, Goldson is the frame of reference, so anything in that ballpark is just not worth it for a free safety, IMO. It just goes against the way I feel is how a defense should be built, and that's from the lines backward. And when you get to the "backward", the bulk of the money should go to the corners, not the safeties. Once in a while you have a legit playmaking difference maker like a Troy Polamalu or an Ed Reed from a few years ago. I just don't see Byrd in that league, but what do I know... And here is a quote from parker in the Tim Graham article that is absolute BULLCRAP..."“Under the system, the Bills were allowed to pay Jairus substantially less than a Pro Bowl player at his position makes for four years,” Parker said. “The Bills, under the CBA, have the ability to restrict his free agency by making him a one-year offer, which we can accept or not accept. The Bills weren't paying him "substantially less" than his market value because he wasn't AVAILABLE to the market. He was under contract, and while that contract is in effect, THAT is the value of that player. When free agency hits then this guy can go on and on about market value and not accepting less than what a player is worth, but his market value is specific ONLY to the period of time when in fact he's actually available to the market. Any player's value will fluctuate year to year, and just because he earns a pro bowl nod one season doesn't mean he will play up to that standard the next. When you sign a contract, your EXACT value is established, and in order for that to be adjusted it takes both parties to agree to it.
  23. I hope that's exactly the Bills position, cause that's asinine money for a safety. I'm all for paying a stud front 7 guy big money, but if we can go to Super Bowls with Mark "last one to come into the picture during the replay of the touchdown pass" Kelso, then we can surely rely on Pettine to develop one of our younger players into an adequate replacement. Best of luck elsewhere, Jairus.
