  1. I honestly don't care much about pricing either, to be honest. They woudl have to charge me a LOT more than they do in order for it to not be a good value. I just don't like having to go to multiple places to meet my viewing needs. I'm glad I HAVE those places to go to, but I literally didn't set foot in a video store or utilize any other movie viewing service aside from Netflix for over 9 years. If they were restricted from doing so d/t business agreements, then I guess it's out of their hands, but I would have much rather they incorporated an on-demand service for new releases instead of just taking that option away. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of other films in my queue to rent and watch, but I do enjoy getting a new release or two each week since I don't get to the theater as much anymore.
  2. Yep, those are some of the same points I made to them when I called up to file a complaint. If they are going to take away new releases for 30 days, then for fux sake give us something back of equal or greater value in return. I see some nice titles on the instant list from time to time, but for someone like me who is a new release whore, this whole deal really screwed up my movie watching. I give them credit for getting me hooked on the awesomeness of streaming, but it had the side effect of pushing me into Amazon's and Vudu's loving arms lol
  3. This guy is the biggest hypocritical d-bag in the NFL...I wish he would have stayed in hiding.
  4. Doesn't it seem as though once the steroid era came to a close, all of a sudden teams have had a groundswell of young pitching talent? Is it BECAUSE the steroid era has come to an end that the advantage has shifted back to pitching? It seems all across the board ERAs are lower than ever, and team BA's are lower than ever, too. Even if I just look at my Braves, it's just staggering: Not only do we have our older guys still pitching well like Huddy and D.Lowe, but we've got a ridiculous number of young starters who have already put out quality work. Check it out, we've got T.Hansen, J.Jurrgens, B.Beachy, M.Minor, J.Tehran (tearing up AAA), and R.Delgado (another youngster with heat) as starters, and then there's potential ROY closer C.Kimbrel, J.Venters, and another green reliever with huge talent in C.Martinez. I've seen times when we've had four strong in terms of starters and MAYBE a solid closer (Rocker, Wohlers), but I've NEVER seen us with this much pitching talent before. But it's not just ATL, cause I see the same thing around the league. What is up with this resurgence in pitching?
  5. Yep, that's a completely legit criticism, IMO. You can add Liam Neeson to that list, too...another very solid actor who often exhibits a fair bit of charisma on screen. Not sure why Lucas would have directed them to be so wooden, particularly when the most popular character from the original trilogy was the most charismatic.
  6. I've always found her personality very annoying, but she is very physically attractive. I agree, if she's concerned about looking heavy, she needs to just lose 15 or 20 lb...she's naturally curvy, so she should just go with that.
  7. Yeah, no lossless, but it's the DD+ 5.1 and it sounds pretty damn good....but they have the option to get full 1080p on most of their films if your internet can support it. It's called "HDX" or something like that. But even the HD version looks really damn good...I've been very impressed with this service so far. I watched "Red State" and "Everything Must Go" this weekend and I didn't feel I was missing much not having the actual BD in hand. For films where PQ and audio quality are paramount, though, I'll still wait for the BD from Netflix...but for other non-critical new releases I'm a Vudu guy now for sure
  8. If you have a cable modem, check out Vudu...I love it.
  9. You know what this episode proved to me? Once they kill off Walt, they can still have another season dedicated just to the Gus vs Cartel stuff! Walt was almost an afterthought in this one...and I LOVE that we have the Hank dynamic back in play...that's what made this show great for me earlier on...you have Walt's duality interacting with Hank, and in fact Hank has a dual nature in WALT'S eyes since Hank plays two roles (brother in law and DEA agent), but not in his own...that's brilliant stuff! Then you get Gus, Mike, Jesse, the Cartel, etc, etc involved and it's a big party...can't wait til next week!
  10. Let me know how you like Hulu if you try it. I cancelled it after a month, cause it seemed like every time I looked up a show I wanted to see, they didn't carry it. On top of that, if Im going to pay to watch tv, I don't want commercials...and even though it wasn't as bad as regular tv, they still had quite a few commercial breaks that you can't FF through. I think DirecTv, U-verse (AT&T), or a sling box can do what you're asking
  11. Ugh, I could tell he was becoming way too domesticated last time I saw him in the audience on a Survivor finale. This guy seems gone through the process of pussification ever since he met his model girlfriend/wife/
  12. I just watched "The Reef" last night...Sharks = bad
  13. Well, in that case I'm glad for Vudu then. I will just continue to pare down my use of Netflix and rely on Vudu for new releases. I'd much rather have a one-stop-shop like I've been used to for the last ten years, but as long as I can get what I need somwehere I'm happy.
  14. Yep, I was on the 5 out at a time plus free streaming, but due to the changes, I reduced it to 3 out plus streaming...and now I"m on 2 out plus streaming. I rent about 4 Vudu films per month, so it comes out to about the same as I was paying before. I dunno, I just don't understand Netflix's strategy. When I heard they were delyaing new releases for 30 days, I expected to see some real improvements in their streaming options. There are some nice titles to choose from, but I do like to have access to new releases when they are available. Right, but why can't they have on-demand options for new releases like everyone else though? I could live with this change if they didn't take ALL my options for new releases away from me. In the meantime, I am sending $20 to Vudu and Amazon each month that could have gone into Netflix's pockets. I called them and told them that's why it was a bad move...they forced me to go elsewhere because all of a sudden they couldn't accommodate my needs dammit!!! lol
  15. Roku rules man...that's how I stream my Amazon flicks whenver I want to see a new release. And of course it's also a must-have if you want Netflix streaming...I have last year's model, but I hear the newer ones are even better.
  16. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/dish-network-planning-launch-blockbuster-230877 I honestly have no idea what Netflix has been thinking over the past couple of years. I have been a customer for TEN YEARS and have always considered the service to be the greatest value on earth. I used to always tell others how great it was to have the new releases for that week in my MAILBOX an hour or two before Blockbuster or Hollywood video even opened their doors that day. I used to love how we'd have access to their streaming libray at no charge, just as sort of a bonus to being a subscriber. Well, that's all gone now. I watch movies from all different time periods, but I have been in the habit of putting new releases at the top of my queue each and every week. When they started delaying new releases for 30 days (for most studios), all of a sudden I found my dollars heading toward Amazon's way, cause if there was a new release I really wanted to see, I could stream it for a few bucks. That has now taken a back seat to my new favorite streaming service, Vudu. I don't get my lossless audio tracks, but I get 1080p PQ along with DD+ audio, and so far it looks and sounds glorious. I've always hated Blockbuster since learning of their predatory practices against Netflix several years ago, but now the waters have shifted. Blockbuster is now owned by Dish Network, and apparently they are making some plans to provide a service that will be what I expected Netflix to be. They will have the main-in option, plus streaming, PLUS on-demand new releases, which is where I think Netflix dropped the ball. Why not just have newer releases available for a few bucks instead of not offering them at all? Don't take away the option from me entirely...give me a way to remain your customer. But Netflix dropped the ball here, so my money goes into Amazon's and/or Vudu's pockets instead. I'm all about competition and choice, so this sounds like a win/win for us as the consumer...It just makes me sad, cause I've had a very long relationship with Netflix that I've enjoyed tremendously. I just wish they'd get their head out of their ass!
  17. One of my earliest football memories...RIP LeeRoy
  18. I could have done it when it first came out, but not now...I'm too addicted to my technology to give it up for three months and be cut off from the world. I would love to see Fairplay get some more screen time with SOMETHIGN, though...he does all these obscure wrestling shows, but that's about all I ever hear about the guy. He makes any show more interesting (when he's not being a little B word), so I don't see why they don't make more of an effort to sign him up.
  19. No tossing the football???? That is way over the top, man. If they did that at the Ralph, I'd never go to a game again. I haven't been back home since opening day in '97 against the Vikes (Robert Smith killed us), but it was tradition for my buddy and I to tailgate with some deep out patterns in the parking lot of the Ralph. Ya gotta have good food, good beer, and an official NFL pigskin to toss around in order to have a proper tailgate, IMO. BTW, I have to give E.Carolina a lot of credit last night. They came to play and had SC on their heels almost the entire first half. They played opportunistic defense and their fans were obviously very passionate. There were quite a lot of S.Car fans there too, but the Pirates faithful showed up big time. Aside from the Georgia embarrassment, yesterday was a solid opening Saturday for college ball.
  20. lol, Fairplay on BB would be epic! I fear he'd probably get bored and quit again, though lol. But yeah, if he were there I'd pay for the feeds too...that would be great entertainment
  21. Same here...Thigpen looked awful. Levi has shown some signs of growth and I think he deserved to stick. It wouldn't surprise me if Levi ends up having a career similar to Todd Collins...a career backup, but one who is steady enough of a player to retain value over the years.
  22. I hate to agree, but I think you hit it right on the head. This team started the game with three penalties on their first drive, couldn't keep up with Boise St in terms of conditioning, the receivers couldn't catch a cold, the Oline consistently missed assignments, etc, etc, etc. At least the Gamecocks got their act together before the end of the first half and righted the ship. I don't know what the hell the 'dawgs were doing. Aaron Murray deserves better... That being said, congrats to LSU for whoopin up one of the best teams in the country. Could LSU be this year's representative from the SEC to win the National Title? Will Oklahoma have anything to say about that? Who will the dark horse team be? Can't wait to find out!
  23. I have a secret for you...we're not going to go to the superbowl this year. I have another secret for you...rookies don't stay rookies forever.
