For my 15,000th Post...I Would Like to Say
ajzepp replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yep, my first post in this thread was #15000 It won't ever look like that cause the number keeps updating even on the first post, but I promise it was legit Back at you, my brother! I don't need to tell you how much your friendship has meant to me...we've had some good conversations over the years, and when I talk about how I know for certain there are people here who "care" about me even though we've never met, you're on that list right near the top. -

Awwww, come on Jack! lol DOH! Ah, true...I guess I was so focused on my lack of a social life that I forgot about being chubby and lonely Honestly, there are a few message boards that I've participated on over the years, but none of them can compare to the sense of community that comes along with being an active member of TBD. I feel as if I could contact any number of people if I were going to be in their area and go grab a beer or hang out on Sunday to watch the Bills game, or whatever. I've had some really great conversations on here, both on the forums and in private, and probably not a lot of people know it but Fez and I have really gotten to be buds over the past several years. I can't say ANYTHING like that about the other places I frequent. If I came on here with a problem, I have no doubt that there would really be people on here who were concerned, and probably several would even offer to help if they could. And last but not least, the humor here is such that I've had some of my greatest near-self-sharting episodes of all time! -

That's a safe bet...Detroit playing well. Matty Stafford is the real deal. -
...maybe Scott is right...I DO need to get the fug outta the house!!!!! Seriously, there is no way I'd spend this much time here if not for the quality of my fellow Bills brothers and sisters. You all are not only a lot of fun, but you offer great advice and can even help solve a problem or two. So here's to you, TBD!!!!!

Anyone want to bet that neither the Jets nor the Pats beat the Chiefs by 34? -
I agree...Dierdorf is a member of the bandwagon jumping fellatio society...it gets old after a while.

I'd love to see what the premiums are on those policies! I'm glad the NFL did the right thing, though.

The greatest thing since sliced bread

I love all the different ways we have available to watch games nowadays. On a typical Sunday for me, I have TBD up, a feed of the Bills game up, and RedZone on the tv. I've become completely addicted to the Red Zone channel. Like SDS said, it only comes down to like 13 minutes of action per game, so this way it's like watching every game at once. I've seen the 30 min condensed games before back when I had DTV and I liked those, too. It's true you do sort of lose the feel for the flow of the game, but it's great if you just want to take a look at the plays independently. -
I'm sorry, what were you saying?

Hell Yeah!!

Wow, I can't believe how many awesome stats there are after yesterday! What about top receiver?

Wow, I can't believe how many of you guys have a Kindle!! That really makes the decision easy, though Tom's suggestion to wait until the Android tablet is out is something I'll definitely do since I prob wouldn't pull the trigger on the Kindle for another month or so anyway. You guys already answered my question about the eInk thing...I have yet to see it in person, but from the images I've seen online I love the way it looks. Thanks also for the book/author suggestions...I can always rely on my TBD brethren for great suggestions, and I will use this thread as a reference when I begin to create my own reading queue. And Tom, even if I wouldn't be interested in reading what you read, I'd definitely be interested in finding OUT what you typically read lol. And Jim, your point about going to the public library is duly noted BTW, this really isn't a huge deal, but still kinda cool. I mentioned above that my new favorite author is Scott Pratt. Well, I picked up a used copy of one of his books from Amazon, and as I was examing the quality/condition to determine if this is a route I'd want to go in the future, I noticed that this is actually a signed copy that they sent me. Not that his sig is worth anything, but still kinda neat.

I love to read. For some odd reason, however, I don't often make the time to do it. When I do, and when I have some material I'm really interested in, I really enjoy it. I've been close to buying one of those Kindle things for quite some time, and it just got me to thinking that I need to get back to reading more often. I used to always read an hour before I would go to sleep at night, and I think I'm going to adopt that routine once again. In terms of fiction, I love courtroom drama/legal thrillers. I've read everything Grisham has to offer, I've dabbled in some of John LesCroartes works, and have recently discovered an author I really like named Scott Pratt. My preference is often non-fiction, though. I loved the book about the Harvard students that the film "21" was based on (I can never remember the name of the book or the author...), and I have read several books by some of my favorite athletes and pro wrestlers (I know, pro wrestling...but honestly, some of them are great reads about the business and lifestyle!). My favorite author is C.S. Lewis...have read just about everything he has out, with "A Grief Observed" being my favorite book of all time. I was curious who the biggest social readers are here at TBD and if any of you guys and gals have suggestions to share. If any of you have a Kindle, I'd really be interested to hear whether you're happy with the purchase, too.

Well even if I didn't have stats in front of me, I have enough memories of Romo sharting himself in big games that I would rather go into a high-pressure game with Sanchez. And I'd take Fitzy over both, cause that's how I roll. -

lol, too funny...the guy obviously has a lot of physical tools that result in some decent passing stats, but I think he's got retatta between the ears. He just makes dumb decisions, and the bigger the moment the less in-control of the situation he seems to be. -
I wasn't all that impressed with the Jets and I think if we can play anywhere near as well as we did today then we have a fighting chance against them. They definitely won't get out of Buffalo without needing the ice bath.

I would have felt that way a couple years ago, but they had a really interesting conversation at the beginning of the game tonight...one of them is strong in the regular season but craps the bed in the playoffs...the other is just average during the regular season but raises his game in the playoffs...I'll take the latter. -

Yep, that's very annoying...trying to pull it down and run for the TD after that big catch by Witten was just STUPID. All they needed to do was get three, and it's a two score game. Instead, he fumble-farts it away and the Jets end up winning by 3pts. A FG would have been tremendously valuable in that situation...just not smart football at all. He's not a noob, he should know better. I wonder if anyone on TBD would take Romo over Fitzy... -

Romo is the most un-clutch QB in the NFL...usually he waits for the playoffs to begin before he starts with his crap, but I guess he's wanting to be more consistent this year. There's no way the Cowboys should have lost this game...Romo is a fugtard. -
Who thinks the Bills aren't better than last year?
ajzepp replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, even before the game today, when I was driving into work on Friday I heard Colin Cowherd talking about how the Bills had become a very competitive team late in the year last season. He had Schlereth and someone else on there and they were agreeing. Being competitive week in and week out is the interim step toward becoming a playoff caliber team, and I think we're just about there. If we can blow out a playoff team from last season in their own place, we're ready to put some wins together and build from there. -
Happy Bday, man!!!
