  1. I wonder how often these kind of deals for the QB's act as a de-motivator for other players. They might feel that if they are valued so much less maybe they shouldn't try quite so hard. When morale starts to slip, there is not a lot a QB can do about it, no matter how good he is. Of course on the other hand there are probably a lot of players (most?) who realize the best way for them to ensure getting paid as much as they can for as long as they can is to play really good ball. Doing so on a team that is consistently a winner is even better for them.
  2. The issue with starting a guy too soon is, if he has a horrible few games, the haters will come out and tear him (and the decision to draft him) to shreds. That easily could happen when a kid from the country and a small school all of a sudden finds himself in the big city NFL media glare. I think that can screw with a guy's confidence, and mess up his game, at least for a while. And frankly, I don't see too many on this board having much patience before they start circling like sharks. It might be best for him to ease into this with some playing time, but not carrying the burden of the starter for a while. Also, frankly, we might be pleasantly surprised with what AJ can do for us in the interim.
  3. Here's what I envision. Every time Allen has a bad game, we are going to be reminded that "we should have taken Rosen". It is going to go on for years, and it is going to get old. Here's hoping he can help us climb the big mountain and win a Super Bowl because honestly that's the only way I see the grumbling coming to an end. Sad.
  4. Sooner or later the odds have to work in your favor. Let's hope its this time. Welcome to Buffalo Josh!
  5. That's why I was hoping he'd win the SB last year, so he would go out on a high note.
  6. Tyrod Taylor - thank you, thank you, thank you. You helped us get that playoff monkey off our back and I'll always remember and be grateful for that. Wishing you the very best with the Browns (except of course when you play the Bills).
  7. Didn't everyone start calling him "statue" because he got sacked so much, with no mobility?
  8. Tough to say but, I'm pulling for the Patriots. Hoping Tom will decide to go out on a high, realizing the uphill climb that comes from losing both coordinators.
  9. I'll be cheering for Brady and the Patriots in the SB, because I think if they win it is the best chance we have that he'll decide to go out on a high and retire.
  10. a 3rd rounder with a conditional 1st, condition being he wins us a Super Bowl
  11. I'm not too greedy. Been a Bills fan for 47 years. One would be good.
  12. Lots of boo birds in Pittsburgh. Shameful.
  13. Steeler fans can start crying now
  14. You don't get two long bomb touchdowns on 4th down. Big Ben needs to pull that golden horseshoe out of his arse or he's going to have a hard time defecating.
  15. 1st and goal, run the ball, score TD - funny how that works
  16. you so funny
  17. fancy that, running the ball with 1st and goal - crazy stuff
  18. A dominant D might be just what the doctor ordered
  19. It's always painful to me to watch teams that have great run offenses revert to passing when it's 1st and goal. Pound the rock 4 damn times if needed.
  20. If Jax shuts down Pittsburgh, doesn't it perhaps infer that Buffalo is not as bad offensively as many here suggest?
  21. As one poster mentioned it's kind of odd that blacks can use the N word and it's fine, but if a white uses the term it means he's a racist bastard. Even if the white uses the term in an endearing fashion (as blacks often do with each other), it is considered ok if they two know each other, but may or may not be considered ok if they don't, all depending on how the person hearing it chooses to interpret the meaning behind it. Since the word itself has many meanings and must be understood in context, it seems ridiculous to suggest a player should be cut from their team for uttering it (if he did, which frankly no one knows). This is a non-issue.
  22. Possible, but not likely. Fromm is the real deal and the GA D is both fired up and getting plenty of rest.
  23. At the risk of being blasted, sometimes really good defenses can make offenses look like the suck. I'm not saying we don't need improvement (we do), but let's see if anybody else is capable of putting up a bunch of points on this Jacksonville squad in the playoffs before making full judgement.
