  1. Um what would you like to know? I hear he’s a ranch guy…
  2. It’s barely even criticism - if you question the orthodoxy of this trade being evidence of Beane’s “amazingness,” you’re a nit-picking hater. Then again this is eball every August, you can set your watch to it.
  3. It’s not “bad” at all but nor is it “amazing.” Off-topic but what could have been: a line with Schnowman Dawkins, Cody Ford, Mitch Morse, Wyatt Teller and Spencer Brown would’ve been the most Wild West-sounding o-line of all time.
  4. Thinking more and more that we’ll be hosting LAC in the AFC Championship game.
  5. I don’t mind being in the minority. I’m responding to the folks proclaiming Beane a “wizard” for getting a 5th rounder for Ford. If you think that’s the “very big majority” consensus, that’s great for you.
  6. I am not the one calling Beane a “genius wizard God-man” - he’s a very good GM. Period. He ain’t the best; he’s far from the worst. That’s ok and maybe we should just accept it.
  7. Respectfully, YOU’RE not looking at this the right way. Beane has not yet gotten on-field contributions from any of his second round picks as a GM. Zero. That hopefully will change this year (though the idea being floated around here that they’re hiding Cook in the preseason is hilarious), but so far we’ve got the Outgoing Cody Ford, Epanesa in his make-or-break season, another backup edge in Basham, and a part-time running back who they drafted because they got spurned at the altar by McKissic, a dime-a-dozen RFA RB. Beane needs to stop throwing second round picks in the trash and he needs to stop giving stupid contracts and raises to guys like Star before we can declare him an “amazing wizard God-man.”
  8. Top of market = finally a couple of quarters of semi-good tape on him but as you mentioned, on Cook’s long run Ford easily should’ve been flagged for an arm hold and he also got flagged for a hands to the face. He’s a terrible football player and apparently had few friends in the locker room or the organization.
  9. Beane traded UP in the 2019 draft to pick Ford, with DK Metcalf still on the board. Beane then traded away Wyatt Teller in part because of Ford’s presence on the roster. Josh Allen is “amazing.” Beane is a very good GM who has made boatloads of mistakes, Ford being one that definitely stands out.
  10. Will they regret moving on from the hot girl who they dated out of college and who turned out to be a huge pain in the ass? Probably not; but then again the new girl has "issues"...
  11. Name the last team with a RB on a big contract that won the Super Bowl?
  12. Nobody is trading for Howard and his guarantee, unless the Bills throw in a pick for the privilege of unloading his salary. Something like Howard and a 6th for a 7th.
  13. From yesterday’s Athletic (honestly, if you don’t have an Athletic subscription by now, your phone should be confiscated): https://theathletic.com/3524555/2022/08/20/bills-cody-ford-training-camp/?source=user_shared_article Ford admitted the attitude adjustment was necessary and overdue. He and Dawkins cited new offensive line coach Aaron Kromer has been a significant factor. Asked about the difference between Kromer and previous assistant Bobby Johnson, Ford responded with eight seconds of silence. The corners of his lips curled upward as he mulled his reply. “He’s doing a phenomenal job,” Ford said of Kromer. “I don’t know what that means, coming from me. But the way we’ve been coached and the techniques that we’ve learned is why I say there’s been so much improvement.”
  14. Blackshear is a player.
  15. Tasker just never stops babbling. He’s always talking and half of what he says is wrong, the other half is incomprehensible. He’s the guy you’d never invite over to watch the game - bad thing for an announcer to be.
  16. Elam is not ready.
  17. Special teams coaching may just be McD’s Achilles heel.
  18. Edmunds thread trigger alert!
  19. Are you one of those posters who thinks that raising concerns about the roster creates “bad juju” which somehow impacts the team’s on-field performance?
  20. If you watched on Saturday you saw the difference between offense and defense in terms of depth and speed. It should not be too difficult of find guys like McKenzie and John Brown on the street, let alone a developmental TE and a change-of-pace RB who can catch passes out of the backfield. They simply cannot seem to do it on a consistent basis - Beasley was a win and Diggs was a major win but in terms of rounding out the offensive roster with speed and depth, there have been far too many misses.
  21. Every year Beane hands out 1-2 of these head-scratchers. Guessing he’d justify it with “hard to get free agents to come to Buffalo” which personally I feel is overblown. They’ve got a bit of an issue identifying offensive skill players in their Pro Personnel dept.
  22. The issue/key for Hodgins is whether he can achieve separation against quality NFL corners. His get-off was good last night - wouldn’t be surprised if they let him run against the first-string defenders over the next two games to see just how much he has improved.
  23. Whose hands did that bounce off of?
