  1. Correct. Put another way, with parity and so little practice time under the CBA and so few veteran, elite QBs, any team can pretty much win any game, any week. Also, no team really has the depth or practice time to compensate for the loss of several skill position players.
  2. 100% agree. At a certain point in some fans' lives, the lens through which they see the team seems to solidify and never change. John is gonna stick up for the QB. Big Cat is gonna stick up for the coaches. Scott Law and WEO are going to have bizarre, half-empty takes. 26CB is gonna post his links and blindly defend OBD as our resident Fifth Column. Posters become caricatures and you wonder why they even come here - if you're not open to being convinced of anything, yourself, why do you think you can convince someone else of your viewpoint? Yesterday's loss, from what I can tell because I didn't see it, was a collective faceplant stemming from a complete lack of mental toughness and focus, from the coaches down to the players. There is no excuse and no sugarcoating it; nor is it the end of the world, because it's always possible that the team will get its act together and turn the corner.
  3. The thread title is too vague and nondescript. Please change it to: "How do I add MAJBobby to my ignore list?"
  4. Honestly I keep expecting to check TBD one morning and see a headline "Bills Release Marcel Dareus." I think it's just a matter of time.
  5. This is where I'm at - I too missed the game, but if you had told me beforehand that Ajayi would run for 200+ yards, I'd have predicted an even bigger loss. What I want to know is what the issue was in run defense. They're light on talent, for sure (Corbin Bryant has been quietly awful all year), but usually you can scheme to stop the run, and Rex especially has been good at this over his career. It looks like they played yesterday with Mike Pettine's defense from 2013 and Chan Gailey's offense from 2012. In any event, putting aside the really tired crusade by Major General Jerkoff, if Tyrod doesn't start throwing over the middle with anticipation than he'll be benched, if not this year, certainly next year. End of story.
  6. So, the "stand up and lean into the offensive lineman" routine that he flashed in college?
  7. A conspiracy against paying income taxes! And what about "Mike Diamond"? They can blast "Sabotage" every time he totes the rock.
  8. I too have just about had it with Dareus. If he doesn't love football he should retire and give back his 2016 bonus.
  9. His issue is less route-running and more has to do with the subtle skills of the position, like leverage, attacking the ball and fighting for position.
  10. I think he's just saying, it would be great if we had 2015 Karlos. And it would. It's a real shame he didn't put in the minimum amount of offseason work players need to do - because if he had, it would be benefitting the team right now (not to mention his career). Coupled with his bizarre behavior, which may be the result of said injuries (but is probably just innate).
  11. The YPA is down because he's not relying on the home run deep throws and is actually learning to use the entire football field. His coaches and Whaley will tell you this is a good thing and I'd agree, although he needs to start hitting on a few of the deep ones to keep defenses honest (especially this weekend without McCoy against a stacked box). But the YPA isn't a useful metric here. And Russell Wilson took about three years before he finally started understanding the position cerebrally.
  12. I really feel bad for Easley in all of this, because this would've finally been the year that he got the chance to make his contribution on offense, a la LoRax on defense.
  13. The issue is that he doesn't put in the offseason time honing his craft, because he's focused on other sports. He just hasn't developed as a WR.
  14. Preston Brown is a nice player - but he's kind of a JAG. Ragland has a higher ceiling. Zach Brown, on the other hand, has grown into a true playmaker. He's setting the tone for the entire defense right now and he's worth $5-$7M per year if he continues playing at this level for the rest of the season. I'd hate to see him go.
  15. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2016/week-6-dvoa-ratings "Buffalo's strong run and easy remaining schedule set the Bills up nicely to finally break their NFL-long postseason drought of 16 seasons. This week's playoff odds simulation gives Buffalo a 75.7 percent chance to reach the playoffs, second in the AFC behind only New England at 90.6 percent." (EDIT: the first comment underneath the article is pretty great.) ***** Coach Tuesday's Take: I think this upcoming game determines the season. Buffalo can dispose of a divisional opponent on the road, who is coming off of a big win and trying to turn its season around - or it can lose and pivot towards the negative. I'm very, very interested to see which Buffalo Bills team shows up on Sunday.
  16. I've said it before - Kendall Wright. The Titans seem to have soured on him for whatever reason, but he'd be a perfect fit in this offense.
