I’m telling you, the fans here aren’t ready for what is going to happen this season. Lots of folks preaching patience in this thread will be the first to start panicking after a winless September.

This team has exactly one star player who is probably in his last year here. They have massive holes along the offensive line, secondary, receiver and linebacking positions that have persisted for two offseasons. They had no problem overspending for defensive line help but the two veterans they overpaid for look like they may be out of gas. They are shaping up as a 3-4 win team this season. It’s time for this first-time GM to start showing some roster-building ability.

The quote was that Beane is better at drafting than prior GMs. He has had one draft. He wasn’t event hired yet in 2017. He has spent a boatload of capital on a QB, which was the right move but we don’t know if he got the right QB. Other than that he has filled zero holes on the roster. Edmunds is far from ready - can’t count him yet.

Tre and Dawkins were not drafted by Beane.

Its not “people” it’s the Bills. They use them on non-elite players who they then don’t want to pay.

They are trying to WIN GAMES. The Bills should consider it.

Fair enough but this is going to be a long season - not sure the fans are ready for it. Beane gets through the next offseason to show progress.

Correct. The Jets are another real possibility. What you are paying for is a player that the offense has to account for and scheme around on every single play - something we haven't really had here since #78 retired.

Don't forget WR. They traded Watkins and Darby for picks and replacements on one-year deals, neither of whom are still with the team - and they didn't really fill those holes.

This. The OL was terrible but Allen was, as one lineman put it, "shook" from the jump. Understandably so - but it won't help him to start right away, especially given the brutal schedule. He'll take a beating and they'll be losing games. Better for him to sit and get ready to come in and help them finish the season strong, which will build more confidence heading into 2019. Sorry, that's just the reality of it.

Look at that last picture - at least three of the OL are off-balance and stumbling - the PassPro technique is TERRIBLE.
