The whole Front Office is sort of like Peterman - they look good on paper - they have faith in what they’re doing - they have a plan, but in executing the plan they don’t take into account the context, what the defense/rest of the league is doing - they are stubborn and inflexible and throw it all up for grabs and hope/pray for the best. It ain’t workin’.

Not really - I said he deserved to be fired after the trade deadline passed. He does. Still. I certainly didn't predict that he would be.

The myopia around here is really unbelievable.

Seriously? He's built a great roster with an inconsistent QB, whom he extended on a team-friendly deal making it easy to cut bait. Look at where Jax was before Coughlin got there and where they are now, their roster is night and day better.

100% wrong, impressively so. Literally you can't be much more wrong than this. The reasons you can't yet evaluate Allen are the same reasons you can't yet evaluate Daboll - the surrounding cast is too poor.

I wouldn't be surprised if Daboll leaves to take a college OC (or lower-tier HC) job at the end of the year. Not only has he been given zero support from the FO in terms of personnel, he hasn't even been allowed to hire his own staff - he's saddled with McD's horrible hires coaching the line and quarterback. He's being set up to fail and if he's smart, he'll try to save his resume somewhere else.

You could say Zay would be willing to run through a wall for him - but after last offseason's incident, you'd need to be careful...

Agree with the first part of this - Gronk actually committed an assault. He could’ve been arrested and charged - seriously.

He sure did. I'm sure this isn't what he signed off on - he was supposed to be the third QB acting as a mentor/extra QB coach to the two young QBs ahead of him. He was not supposed to get thrust into live action and pummeled relentlessly. He was enjoying a nice retirement, golfing and hanging with his kids. He's playing like he wants the ball out of his hand quickly.

Had me laughing to myself for awhile.

I thought this might happen - was actually wondering if the Bills would be interested given his versatility and the fact that he can play the Taiwan Jones role.

I think McD is safe for sure. He's not a bad coach and seems to have a good rapport with the players. He may be young enough to adapt and he's been part of quality organizations. Beane, on the other hand, should be on shakier ground. He was hired to be McD's personnel guy - questionable enough, given that McD as a first-time coach didn't deserve to have that kind of reporting structure. And perhaps it's time to strip McD of his personnel powers, given the state of the roster - which effectively means canning his personal personnel person. That's what I would do.

He's a great player - good for the Eagles, rich getting richer.
