  1. What you are incorrectly calling “conservative” is actually what prudence forces teams do when they are paying an elite QB big money. Teams like the Bills who have a QB on a rookie deal can afford to be more aggressive elsewhere. And in any event I don’t think you’re right about their mentality. They went after Mack. They must know that adding a top tier receiver will help Josh’s development - they need to protect the investment they’ve made in him - beefing up the interior line, adding a young versatile running back, maybe a tight end, and yes, a real actual live-bodied pro receiver - these are just things need to be done and I expect Beane to do them. As for your list of expiring contracts - that is one motley bunch - they had better not use up a sizeable portion of their cap room on that group. And before that, Brandon Cooks. And before him, the Cowboys did it again with Roy Williams. And there was Percy Harvin going to the Seahawks for a first. I know we’re in a post-truth society now but please, try to fact-check just a little...
  2. One of the hardest things to predict is when an athlete’s skills are going to fall off due to age and wear and tear. The Patriots are so good at it - it’s an underrated skill. Clay’s body is just shot - he can’t run anymore. They didn’t see it coming.
  3. Amazing to me that Atlanta is so soft and uncompetitive so many weeks.
  4. He spends a ton of time on this site, much of it complaining about the other users of this site. Not a surprise that he also listens to WGR and comes here to complain about the content.
  5. Honestly he seems to be a more instinctual runner than passer - really surprised me.
  6. Actually thought Groy held up ok in pass pro yesterday, for the most part. The pivot is a major upgrade area for the offseason - they really need 3 new starters on OL.
  7. Probably a wild night or two in Bogota.
  8. Would’ve been a great catch no doubt. Not routine. Other teams do it though.
  9. How about: great play by Allen, hard throw to make, wasn’t perfect, could’ve been better, hard catch for Clay to make, Clay needs to make a play for once and knows he should’ve caught it. It’s on both of them.
  10. The league has a serious problem with officiating now that betting is legal. Nothing will be done about it under Goodell but officiating is going to become more and more of a story and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are violent incidents and FBI investigations over the next decade. It’s a disgrace - this is a reactionary league refusing to modernize itself.
  11. Yep - and the Sabres were having trouble keeping their edges in Tampa Bay and Miami this past weekend - humidity is a thing - Florida being the worst state in the Union is also a thing...
  12. Clay’s body is just shot - his legs look like Vontae’s did in August - it happens. More worrying is that Shady seems done as well, he just hates contact now and seems to wince every time someone falls on him - he’s broken like zero tackles this year.
  13. If he hits that bomb to Foster we're talking about a 350 yard, Big Ben, game winning performance. Needs to keep working at it but it's hard not to be excited. But his arm doesn't look right to me...
  14. I maintain his elbow is bothering him. He threw some ropes that no other QB can throw. He threw a bunch of ducks. He single-handedly kept the game competitive. He missed three open TDs...
  15. Guess no DPI if you’re playing the Bills.
  16. What does the announcer mean that Allen had two game-winning drives this year??
  17. That’s fine - I’ve seen enough today to know that the Bills are on the way up and the Phins are in quicksand. Hope they go with Gase and Tannehill again next year. The Bills’ roster full of scrubs almost beat the Phins on their home turf in a must win setting.
  18. This D is soft when it counts. And the knuckleheads the Bills grabbed off the scrap heap are showing why they were passed up on - Foster, McKenzie, Phillips, Holmes - today they’re proving why they were on the street.
  19. Frazier’s D ALWAYS lets the other team march down the field after a big score. ALWAYS.
