Diggs cryptic comments - 2024 edition

When you're coming out with bangers like "Revolutionize the Kicking Game" - I can see why you'd want to try to get people to laugh at others. -
Buffalo Fanatics Writers Mock Drafts: 3 for Adonai Mitchell, 3 for Xavier Legette https://thebuffalofanatics.com/2024-buffalo-fanatics-writers-mock-draft-round-4/amp/

From the sounds of the article I posted above your post, it definitely seems to me that's what happened
-
Again, I disagree with the concept of mid to late Round 2 for Legette. You don't get that kind of size and speed often and it's not littered all over the Draft. Lately, he's been climbing the boards when it comes to the experts. RIght now, I would be extremely surprised if he falls any later than the 35-40 range.

This is pretty much where I'm at. I'm way more annoyed by the absolute psychosis that follows one of his tweets than the tweets themselves. -

Not a fan of Shady's talk show, I take it? -
I don't like the sound of needing a clean up and restoration crew in the matter of a death with no foul play 😞 https://nypost.com/2024/04/02/sports/emotional-911-call-reveals-more-about-vontae-davis-final-moments/

If only Josh had spoken publicly about his feelings on Diggs recently: -

Of course you do. You take great joy and run here the first chance you can when it comes to anything you read as a potential reason to trade Diggs for Draft Picks this year - as if getting people to agree that we should will make it more likely to happen. It's been your mission for months, posting about it across multiple threads on the daily. Did I re-word? I thought I just added a section at the end, after he edited his post with another tweet. Like I said, I think he needs to just ignore randos on Twitter. He seems to be overly sensitive to people saying he's overrated or toast. It's not a great look. I'll admit that. He's coming across as insecure. But I see it as more of the same defending himself against people who say he's not important (or "essential") to Josh or overrated than outwardly declaring he's responsible for Josh's success. -

The theme of every single one of his posts lately is clapping back at people saying he's overrated or toast. He seems to be pretty motivated to prove doubters wrong. He's been posting training videos on his Insta Story daily. Probably should just ignore them. He's looking a little thin skinned right now. But I don't take him saying he feels it's incorrect to say he's not important to Josh's success as some major "not cool" slap in the face. -
He's far from the only Bills reporter that feels this way. If you watch One Bills Live, he's the favorite of both Chris Brown and Steve Tasker at 28. The Bills Guys at Cover 1 did their first full Round 1 Mock for every team and took Legette with Mitchell, Worthy, McConkey, Coleman and Franklin still on the board: As we get closer to the Draft and coming off the Combine, he is rising more and more. Good chance that's from hearing things from teams. He was picked at 29 in Mel Kiper's latest Mock. This idea that he's a 2nd Round prospect that we can probably get at 60 or in a small trade up and we can afford to wait on him doesn't seem to be based in reality, in my opinion. The feeling I'm getting right now from people is that the first 3 guys are gone by Pick 8. That Thomas is going to go higher than expected and that Mitchell is closer to him in league circles than people expect. Both will most likely also be gone by the time we pick. If he's the guy Beane likes, he should take him at 28 and shouldn't try and get cute about it. Coming off his measurements and performance at the Combine and the type of WR he is, I think his current value is a Late 1st to Early 2nd Round as the Floor type of guy. It's no guarantee he'll be there in a Trade Down and I don't think we'll be able to Trade Up from 60 far enough to still get him.

The Lamborghini was a rental. Signed a lease agreement stating only he could drive it. He's reported to have sent a text to the leasing company shortly after the crash, admitting he was involved and offering to pay for the Lambo. Yikes. https://www.tmz.com/2024/04/02/rashee-rice-admit-drive-lamborghini-dallas-car-crash/

Wow. I like McMillan, but WR6? Mitchell as WR11? And I'm down on Troy Franklin too, I have him as WR10, but WR15? I guess it just goes to show how deep this class is and how similarly graded a lot of them are. One guy's WR4 can be another guy's WR15. Though I sometimes can't help but wonder if certain experts are basing their rankings on being contrarion for the sake of being contrarion and/or hoping that someone they rank much higher than others hits so they can look like a genius in hindsight.

It's not anywhere near as crazy as you'd think. There's only 4 QB's considered Top Half of Round 1 prospects. I've heard it wondered by some if McCarthy's climb as of late isn't as real in league circles as it seems from experts, ala "Will Levis could go #1" last season. Though I do believe he still goes Top 12. But Penix and Nix are looked at as fringe 1st Round Picks and it wouldn't shock me in the least if they weren't selected Day 1. Selecting one of them at 12 would be way more of a need pick than a value pick. And we've seen of late that even QB needy teams would rather wait than overdraft a QB in Round 1. On the flip side, i've been noticing BTJ going higher and higher in mocks lately. I don't know if that's Post Combine excitement from experts or people hearing things. But it's really not uncommon to see him in the 12-15 range of late. 4 QB's and 4 WR's in the top 12 isn't insane this year. Especially when you consider it's almost a given that most feel 4 QB's and 3 WR's are expected to go in the top 7-10 picks.

Safety Julian Blackmon visiting Bills
BillsFanForever19 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I had a feeling. It felt very Poyer-esque. We reportedly had an offer on the table for him and I'm sure others did as well, but he kept on touring and not signing any offers. Which led me to believe he had a deal from the Colts he was sitting on and it wasn't being topped. -
Fair. I assumed that this was a thread about both, considering the OP included a Bills mock and discussion has been about players like James Williams' connection to the Bills and the post I was replying to talked about the possibility of him and Josh together.

I like Burton as a player. However, he seems to be a head case and not a great fit from a culture standpoint. He stuck a female Tennessee fan who came on the field after they upset Alabama. Stories of him being difficult to deal with and not being liked by teammates. It's rumored he wasn't invited to the Senior Bowl because they thought he might be a problem and didn't want him there.

When we're creating a fear thread for a Free Agent Running Back, who's played 9 games in 2 years, simply *visiting* the Chiefs, on a Bills board - the Chiefs obsession has gotten out of control.

There's a number of players that have the Addae connection. Kam Kinchens, Javon Bullard, and Tykee Smith all also fit that same mold. Javon Bullard is far and away my favorite of the group.

Teams are using a revised chart these days. The modern trade chart, that more accurately reflects trades done in recent memory than that of the ancient Jimmy chart, does. It's the bottom of the 3rd, but it's a 3rd. 128 is 19 pts. 133 is 17 pts. That's 36 pts. Pick 99 is 36 pts. Pick 100 is 35 pts. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart-Rich-Hill.asp

If the board falls right for us in Round 1 and Round 2 and he's able to not get antsy, I wonder if one of the scenarios he's played with is to move the two 4th's for a 3rd, two of the 3 5th's to get back into the 4th, and 2 of the 3 6th's to get an extra 5th. Would bring us to 8 picks with 1 pick in every Round and 2 picks in the 5th.

Not *completely* freely. The Practice Squad, 52nd and 53rd Roster Spot, and the In Season Spending Pot can come from Tre's 6/1 money. But Draft Picks are all signed before 6/1 these days with the new Rookie wage scale system, generally within days following the Draft. So that money needs to come out of what we have right now, meaning we could probably spend around 5-6m now (depending on whether OTC or Spotrac is correct) if we wanted to. But not all of it.

And then the worst teams just stay the worst forever with no chance of ever possibly turning it around unless they luck out and land on a Diamond in the Rough. Ridiculous idea.
