  1. If this is accurate, I think it's pretty great that Stevie is just a 4.3 mil cap hit for this year. To get him back for that this year will leave us a lot more money to get guys in FA. Kudos!
  2. My problem with it isn't that I think it's NOT laughable that he'd come here. Such an idea is a pipedream. But if you're going to talk seriously about Cleveland and Jacksonville; how can you post "LOL" about the Bills? Like the Browns and Jags are an upgrade!
  3. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-peyton_manning_colts_ranking_new_teams_030612 What's so gosh darn funny?!
  4. According to Nix, it's not gonna happen: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/3/1/2835452/buffalo-bills-are-not-in-on-robert-griffin-iii-per-buddy-nix

  6. Apparently not. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/3/1/2835452/buffalo-bills-are-not-in-on-robert-griffin-iii-per-buddy-nix
  7. This was a no brainer. But he won't be there when we pick.
  8. I hate when we drafted him. There were better DT's on the board than him. But I just shrugged and said "well, this is Nix/Gailey and not Jauron/Brandon or Marv. They must think he's a better fit". Almost two years later, it looks like an even worse pick than I thought at the time :/
  9. I was a fan of Aaron Maybin coming out of college. His year coming into the draft was nothing short of amazing. I was excited we got him. But when he came to Buffalo, it just wasn't there. I think he got drafted and got paid and got comfy. He was given opportunities and failed. We cut him. The Jets signed him and then the Jets cut him. Because of injuries, he was brought back. He now plays with intensity. I think he sat and home and realized his career was over before it started. And that is why he has finally shown something. His back was COMPLETELY against the wall. In the end, Aaron Maybin would have never played that way for the Bills, in my mind. Good for him and his future in the NFL. But it makes me sick that he wouldn't do it for us.
  10. We saved a few million dollars that we didn't use. And who needs a backup center anyways? It's obvious you can just plug in any old lineman there.
  11. We saved a couple million dollars or so and who needs a backup Center anyways? It's pretty obvious, you can just plug in anyone at Center.
  12. I concur. At this moment, we need all the help we can get. Something isn't right with Stevie. Whether it be an illness, unhappiness, and/or lingering injury. Now it looks like he messed up his shoulder. The Donald Jones experiment is not working out. Let's be honest. We don't have anyone who will beat you deep. At this point, what do we have to lose?
  13. Now George Wilson's getting checked out for a Stinger. Even better. EDIT: And now the announcers are saying Eric Wood's down. But I guess every team has injuries >_>
  14. Just off the top of my head, this is a list of players that are not playing today that were on our roster for Game 1: Demetrius Bell Shawne Merriman Kyle Williams Chris Kelsay Rian Lindell Aaron Williams Roscoe Parrish Chris Hairston is dressed, but still hurting. But if you just lay it all out and look at how many key players we've been down for at least a few weeks; it's incredibly damning. That's not even counting how long we were down Terrence McGee and Donald Jones. I know every team deals with injuries. But it just seems like we're always fighting an uphill battle with the injury bug. I just don't know how we can expect us to win like this. The past few weeks, I think the injuries are really killing us.
  15. Where is this veiled accusation? Are you referring to my post of his tweet? If so, did I say he was most certainly taking a shot at Freddie? No. I specifically pointed out I may be reading something into nothing. And that's why I wanted to discuss it. I was interested in what the rest of you thought. And it seems you all think it was just a joke. Which is what I actually wanted to hear.
  16. I did not see that reply as @replies don't show up on feeds. And like I said in the OP, I may be reading something into nothing. But the timing of the joke and lack of joke indicators that he usually uses (i.e. 'lol', 'ha', etc.) raised an eyebrow with me. But it appears the majority of people don't see it that way and that I was reading something into nothing. And i'm fine with that. I actually prefer me reading into nothing than the alternative of him actually being unhappy. But I thought it worth discussing. The stick's not up my ass. I'm not sure where this stick you speak of actually is, but yeah, not inside of me. I'm not attacking Stevie or anyone else here so i'm confused by the attacks from posters. But, it was a Bills event for Bills fans and this is a Bills fan forum. I'm merely discussing it.
  17. Nope, just stating what happened and what was said. Not the end of the world or anything, but there were a lot of upset, disappointed Bills fans. And his comment about it came across wrong to those fans. Does taking cyber-bully shots at other fans rectify whatever situation you have?
  18. Last night at Van Bortel Ford in East Rochester, Stevie Johnson and Fred Jackson had a scheduled autograph signing, meet and greet with the fans type deal. It was set to be from 7-9 PM. Freddie showed up and was INCREDIBLY gracious to everyone! He stopped to talk to people on cell phones, stepped out to the front of the table and posed for pictures with kids in wheelchairs, and in an even bigger gesture; he stayed from 7 to 11:30 to make sure every single person in line got to meet him. That's more than double the amount of time he was scheduled to be there! He was a real class act. I can't say that enough. Stevie Johnson, however, no-showed the signing. People waited and waited for him to show. Come to find out, he later stated on Twitter that he had to stop halfway on the road to Rochester and have a tire repaired. But not before imparting this nugget of knowledge: Link: "@KhawkCruisin: @StevieJohnson13 seriously, where were you tonight? Freddy had to do ALL the signing" He should be use to doing ALL the work Maybe i'm reading something into nothing, but what's that about? "He should be used to doing ALL the work"? I don't know exactly what he meant by that, but I found it curious that that was his first response to not showing up to an appearance for Bills fans. I'm a HUGE Stevie fan. I went down there with just my Stevie jersey (i've met Fred and got something signed by him before). But I was disappointed by this whole thing. I know things happen, but when kids are waiting hours and hours for you, if you need you're tire repaired; the signing was at a car dealership. Call them and have them pick you up and work on the tire at the signing (I jest ). I hope I AM reading something into nothing. But I fear Stevie may be getting some sour grapes with his lot in Buffalo after that comment.
  19. Some thoughts I had yesterday: - Before the game started, I received my inactives list text from the Bills. I cringed when I saw Chris Kelsay was inactive. I've noticed that when he's not playing, our defense REALLY takes a hit. That's not to say we wouldn't have run roughshot over Washington's depleted O-Line without him or we would have beat the Jets with him. But the games he's been out, our defense has looked REALLY flat. When he's in, you can really tell a difference. I never thought i'd say it, but Chris Kelsay seems damn important to this defense. - All year, i've been thinking to myself; "this doesn't look like the Bills that i've known for the past decade or so". It just didn't. All year, it felt different. But yesterday, it looked like the Bills we've been all too familiar with before the start of this season. Just as I felt "crap, we look like those Bills again", it was mentioned on air that Ralph Wilson was in the house for the first time all year. Coincidence? Most likely. But being a superstitious, non-skeptic; a part of me wondered if bad 'juju' follows Ralph around. Was it not his call to bench Flutie in the playoffs? Perhaps our "curse" is not on the team. Perhaps it's on Ralph Wilson. I know it sounds stupid, but i'd rest easier if the old man stayed at home for the rest of the season. It's probably better for his health anyways. Go Bills!
  20. Probably how quickly Pianalto got swooped up and given an active roster spot on another club. It just intrigues me. Two guys who play the same position, are the same age, from the same draft class, and are fairly equal in skill. Yet we let the bird in the hand go for the devil we don't know. But i'm not an expert on either guy. This is why I asked. If Smith is a much better blocker, than I can see the reasoning. Not to mention, Smith played in the Senior Bowl. Chix probably had a look and liked him in Mobile.
  21. This is a good point that I hadn't thought of. Perhaps Smith was someone the Bills wanted to draft all along and the Pats just beat us to the punch. Now we have a chance to get him and Pianalto wasn't a very big deal to them. And let me say this is NOT a "stupid Bills making stupid decisions" post. This is a "do you think we make the right call?" post.
  22. No, i'm not saying we should be angry about it. It's too soon for that. Just that we gave up a guy who has been working with our team for all of the preseason and most of training camp for a guy from New England who has no experience with our offense. Two guys from the same draft class at the same position with comparable skills. The bird in the hand was dropped and flew to Tampa Bay. Do you think we'll regret moving Pianalto for Smith?
  23. I know this isn't a huge deal considering both would be our #3 TE going into this season. But I find this Lee Smith signing a little odd. Going into the draft, a good portion of draft "pundits" listed Zack Pianalto as ranked higher than Lee Smith. In fact, he was one of the top rated undrafted free agents available as many expected him to be drafted. When we signed him, I thought he may be our next starting TE in the near future. But it appears Scott Chandler was always "the guy". Pianalto had a decent camp/preseason for a rookie with a shortened camp due to the labor issues with free agents. Enough to make the 53-man roster. Or so we thought. Enter Lee Smith. A 5th Rounder from the Patriots. A guy who apparently looked pretty decent, but couldn't beat out another UDFA TE that the Patriots signed. Maybe they wanted him for the PS and we snatched him; but in the end, he didn't make the final roster. So to make room for him, we cut Pianalto. A guy we liked enough to make our final roster. Maybe we wanted him for our PS, but the Bucs snatched him up. I just find it interesting that we gave up a guy who has been working with our offense for a couple months for a guy who couldn't make the Pats roster. Not only that, but he was snatched up to be the Bucs #3 TE almost immediately. Both guys may end up being just bit players. But if Pianalto blows up for the Bucs, we're going to look pretty silly. So good move? Or are you worried that we may have made the wrong choice? Or perhaps, do you even care?
  24. Not shocking and it goes with what I said in my original Pryor post down the page; some team with no brain in their head would take him in the 3rd. It's funny when stereotypes come true. Of course the Raiders wanted him, he runs fast I kinda wish Davis had put in his claim in the 4th. I'd have been interested to see if Buffalo would have tried to put in a claim after acquiring a 2nd 4th rounder for Evans....
  25. As 1 PM approaches, I still maintain that we should throw in a 4th Round bid. Especially since we have another one thanks to the Lee Evans trade (ugh, that still hurtsto say). Is it very possible that he could just become another Maurice Clarett? Yeah, it's a very real concern. But at the cost of a 4th, his athletic potential is worth the risk. If he bombs, we lost one of two 4th's. And looking at our track record of 4th's (2011: too early to tell on Searcy and Hairston; 2010: Marcus Easley; 2009: Shawn Nelson; 2008: Reggie Corner; 2007: Dwayne Wright; 2006: Ko Simpson), what's the difference if he busts out? Yes, I know Terrence McGee was a 4th and their are other 4th Rd. studs around the league. But, let's face it, odds are not very good that a 4th Round pick is going to have a tremendous impact. Terrelle Pryor has potential. We need all the help we can get going forward. It's worth the risk to me.
