I don't think that Lee Smith is some kind of lock to make the roster. As a matter of fact, in my honest opinion, it's Scott Chandler and everybody else. I think whichever two of Smith, Onobun, Caussin, and Brock have the best camp/preseason are the one's that will make it.

I don't like this move. Both CB's we drafted, regardless of their potential, have never played a down in the NFL. McGee is always one play away from IR. McKelvin can't be counted on. I just feel that Drayton was the most reliable of any of our CB's. Now the position is in even bigger question mark.

Alright, well, what's going on? The practice is over. Is he flying home? Is he negotiating a deal? Kinda odd that they'd post about the workout being done and nothing else.

I think that's a bit of a reach. If he was unenthused, I don't think he would have posted anything. To borrow a line from Bulldog on WGR, after the offseason Nix has put together so far, he has a HUGE line of credit with me. If he thinks it's a good idea, what in the blue hell happened to the "In Buddy we trust" mantra?!

If he's coming in to be the backup, what's the harm? What kind of serious damage can he do? I, for one, see a LOT of team chemistry building. Everybody seems to be on the same page. VY gets on that page or there's the door. Same goes for everyone else on the roster. Chan and Buddy run a pretty tight ship. Aside from making a bonehead remark about being "The Dream Team" last year, what has he really done to deserve such a cancer label? He made some mistakes in Tennessee, but he seems to have learned from them. I see far more upside and insurance in a move like this then I do pessimism. Low risk, potential high reward. We're not asking him to be the face of the franchise here people. We're just asking him to be an upgrade to Tyler Thigpen. Relax.

Ugh, I really can't stand the idea of going into this season with Tyler Thigpen as our backup again. I keep picturing the time he got boinked in the skull with a football on national television. I keep thinking of the veteran backup who showed me nothing in training camp, nothing in the preseason, and then, when our starter had cracked ribs and played like a dead man; we still didn't put the guy in. I think we intended on grabbing either Kirk Cousins, Brock Osweiler, or Russell Wilson in the 4th Round. I think we expected one of those guys to be there and honestly, so did I. I was surprised to see Wilson go in the 3rd and pissed when Washington picked Kirk Cousins so close to our 4th Pick. Aaron Corp is another arm in camp. That's it. I really don't think he's who Buddy was referring to. Calling Corp "a really good one" is kind of a stretch if you ask me. He played so/so for the Richmond Spiders after flaming out almost immediately at USC. Anything's possible, but I don't think Buddy's pinning our backup QB situation as Tyler Thigpen, Aaron Corp, and/or Brad Smith. At least, I hope not. I hope that someone surprising gets released between now and the start of camp that can provide us with a little more insurance.

Look, Brian Quick was the guy we liked. The guy we wanted. The big, physical receiver who's open even when he isn't. Besides Blackmon, he's the only guy we brought in at WR. I wanted us to draft him really bad. Most projected him at the bottom of the 2nd, top of the 3rd. I had heard the Bills were hoping to draft him in the 3rd. Brian Quick was the #1 Pick in the 2nd Round. He didn't even make it to our 2nd Pick, let alone 3rd. So at that point, with the run on receivers, we needed a guy that would at least spread the field. T.J. Graham is a track runner and a guy that McShay said was "quickly climbing draft boards" and a guy that urged him to say "You're gonna love this guy Boomer!". By all accounts, he's an underrated prospect who the Bills timed faster than Lee Evans coming out of college. We had to address LT by Round 2 at the latest. By the end of Round 2, no WR on the board was without flaws. We grabbed the guy that best fit what we needed at that position. And, honestly, even if this pick was a reach (which I don't), we had MANY picks with ridiculous value. Not many were talking about Antonio Brown or Mike Wallace on draft day either. They worked out pretty well.

Yep. I think if Washington hadn't picked him, Kirk Cousins would have been our first 4th. Now i'm even more pissed about Washington taking him.

Darron Thomas

Yep. I was totally confused as to why he came out a year early. Dude is all sorts of raw. But he's got some potential.

I'd like to see us bring in either Kellen Moore, Case Keenum, or Darron Thomas at QB. I'd also like to see us pick up James Brown from Troy. He must have really screwed up the pre draft process. We brought him in for a visit and then drafted a Kicker instead.

After how well they did as a whole in the first 5 rounds, I think it's pretty baller that they called it a day with a Kicker. "AND a Kicker! What! In yo face!"

I don't know if I see us keeping 5 RB's total. I think either Choice or White gets cut after camp. And i'd list Bryan Scott as a SS first and a LB second. I also see Asper as making the PS or getting cut after camp. I don't think he makes the active roster. Other than that, I like it. As long as it's "at the moment". I'm hoping for some late signings (namely an upgrade to Thigpen).

Your final thoughts? So you're not even going to wait to see who we get with the 3rd to last pick? Whoever that will be won't think too kindly of you either!

Sure, why not? We've already picked 7 players (the normal amount of picks in a team's draft). If you like him even a little, now's the time to take flyers. Essentially, the last couple rounds are players you want to make sure you don't have to fight other teams for during the UDFA process anyways.

With 4 picks still left, James Brown from Troy is still on the board currently. He's a guy we brought in for a visit and is someone who is versatile enough to play both OG and OT. He's also Mel's 2nd best available player. If he makes it to our 1st 5th round pick, I REALLY think we should pull the trigger. It would really add to an already good draft. Dare I say, if we take him: "I FEEL GOOD!"
