@GoalineFootball: Congratulations Alex Tanney on signing to Bills Practice Squad. Finished Preseason with 125.8 QB rating (4th... http://fb.me/2NaZdtDWC
Still - he has gone to Kansas City, Dallas, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Tennessee, and now (most likely) Buffalo since 2012.
You don't get that many look-see's if there's absolutely nothing there.
I wonder if this visit took place before or after they were awarded Gabe Ikard off waivers. I gotta assume it was just in case they didn't get Ikard. I can't imagine they need two backup Centers on top of Urbik.
Or maybe Ty Powell went down for the year and we're stupid thin at the position? AJ Tarpley made the team at the same position as a UDFA.
He might not have shown a whole lot - but he's still a decently decorated Clemson product we spent a draft pick on at a position with little depth. I'm not surprised regardless of relationship.
Tom Coughlin drafted his son in law. Who cares?
@MMehtaNYDN: Jason Babin is the first relatively surprising cut by the Jets. Solid veteran. Bodes well for Trevor Reilly now. #nyj
Not a Bills cut. But with our depth at DE/3-4 OLB underneath Williams and Hughes plus the fact that he played for Ryan last year - it might be worth keeping an eye on.
Which ESPN? It's the US Open on ESPN and ESPN2 is doing a replay of First Take. They had NFL Live before that and NFL Insiders before that. Nothing like that on either.
That's just because his preferred method of relaying information is Josina Anderson - not Mike Rodak.
Looking at the replies sent to him on that tweet, I found this which I both laughed at and noted that it includes a pic of what I've been talking about:
@kknoell12: @mikerodak @billsdaily don't you work at ESPN mike? #comeonman http://pic.twitter.com/8uIRsVoV6e
It's funny, I can't provide a link. But if you turn on NFL Live on ESPN2 right now, it's on the top of their ticker as "UPDATE - ESPN Report: LeSean McCoy Says: "I'll Be Ready" (For Week 1)".
@mikerodak: Now the Bills say they have released Dez Lewis. So that takes them down to 57, which means 3 moves left.
They must have just forgot to write his name down
Interesting that Josina Anderson reported earlier Dezmin Lewis was released but he's not on the list sent out by the team.
As for O'Leary - I had high hopes for him but he doesn't even deserve Practice Squad consideration based off what I saw in Training Camp and the Pre-Season. I'm surprised he's still alive.
He was traded to the Falcons - but for a late round pick in next year's draft and a conditional pick in 2017.
Julio Jones definitely wasn't a part of the deal.
That means two more WR's need to go between Marquise Goodwin, Chris Hogan, Deonte Thompson, and Marcus Thigpen. Maybe one more but I can't imagine they'd keep 7.
I was afraid IK had played himself of the team. Too many penalties and costly ones to boot. Twice he went offsides and allowed a drive to continue that was otherwise thwarted this preseason.
Kinda off-topic - but am I the only one that finds all the posts/re-tweets about his fiancee/their relationship a little over the top?
Maybe he's overcompensating for the domestic violence rumblings. But damn - I don't think I've followed a player that's more into public displays of affection.
A.) I disagree. He has more sacks than Suh has since Dareus' rookie gear of 2011. If he's not better - he's equivalent. And a year younger.
B.) How does that matter?
C.) .... what? That's simply incorrect. You do know he's on the last year of his deal right now, right?
