Rams released LB Pisa Tinoisamoa
stuckincincy replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tough guy, chronic bum knee, missed half the year the past two seasons, plays with injury. Last 2 seasons, when he was in, he tended to played wide resulting in the LG having to move out and abandon inside responsibility, and the C getting pushed back or shoved around. Chalk that up to injury, I guess. It was out of character. He went out on IR for the season during game #10. He wasn't missed...#4 '08 pick, OT Anthony Collins did a better overall job. CIN's run game was certainly more effective with him out of the lineup... in top shape, Jones impressed me as a fair run blocker, but never as one of those that sticks in memory as making that big, key block through the years. If he's at 100% given the usual wear and tear, he will be somebody's bargain. But that's the thing - his last 3 years were ones of physical degradation. -
In my feeble mind, even the slightest sniff of government influence on the free press under any circumstance is strongly repugnant to the Constitution and to the 1st Amendment. And folks are arguing about the details of the survival of newspapers... How chilling...

The outcomes: 1. The Bills' management knew he would be healthy, and very motivated, and will live up to his collegiate billing. That's why they didn't draft any DTs, work the FA market for one, work a trade, and are happy with the the rest of the current DT corps. 2. Their assessment is completely wrong.

Who gets Rams' games broadcast to their tv sets? I guess those with NFL Network or some such could hunt the their games down. But who does? I can't say I have a memory of ever seeing this guy play. It's like this buzz for Levi Jones. Who goes out and makes an effort to watch the B'gals? I have, and hold an opinion about him, but that's just because that's what is shown week after week after week. Year after year after year... -
The Facebook Battle at Le Moyne College: Good of you to think the better of that gal and ignore these clowns. Very good...that is what a man of honor does. You seem to be at a tipping point. So let me give you a shove. Choose that path of humanity, study and learn whatever you have chosen, change colleges if the academics aren't challenging enough (and be sure that you do your part, before rejecting instructors for not hammering things into your skull - that is not their job). And don't let these cheesy, buzzing, self-serving gnats you described get to you. Some pithy yet effective advice: After being heavily exposed to such, at earliest opportunity if you have enough coin in the pocket - go to a breakfast joint, and buy a newspaper and order up bacon, eggs, toast, whatever. Read page 1, the things going on in the world that you need pay attention to. Shake your head about these Facebook fools for 5 seconds saying to yourself - "what a bunch of idiots". When your meal arrives, have a another chuckle and turn the page.

The very idea that a member of a legislature should even broach such is disturbing - at least to me. YMMV.

He has a valid passport, eh? Any idea where he will be traveling?

Salsports: 4 Wide Offense / No Huddle re-confirmed

Neat! I'd gladly give up 3 or 4 defensive offside penalties in exchange for murdering my opponents' QB! -
Thanks! I'll let it roll around to the discount 3-dollar theaters, then view it. Star Trek flicks are kitschy...which is their charm.

From the editorial board of the Cincinnati Enquirer: Press can't be saved with restrictions Cincinnati Enquirer 05/06/09 "We appreciate the concerns of certain senators over the future of the newspaper industry, but restrictions they propose pose a far greater threat to the free press than any economic decline. Advertisement Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., has authored a bill that would allow newspapers to claim tax-exempt status, similar to public broadcasting, churches, hospitals and schools. The catch: newspapers would no longer be able to make political endorsements. With all due respect to Sen. Cardin, what he proposes is nothing short of a muzzle. The text of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is short and direct: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."... Here's the "official" blurb... http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/beng...a7-9bbbad2af491 An out-of-the-blue deal, it seems. I'd speculate his pass-catching skills intrigued them - who knows? Benson's got good hands. I mentioned Harris as being available some time back, before they acquired Tank Johnson. That gave them 4 DTs...Peko, last years' draftees Sims and Shirley. Old pro John Henderson is still on their roster, but the expectation is that he'll retire. Fine man - wouldn't be surprised to see him go on to coach somewhere. Seems Harris was active for 10 games last season, with 14 total tackles. Can't say that I noticed him.

Good post. -
I could never find a source, but I recall reading that the pay for a week in camp for participants not under contract was something like $7,400. A point to ponder when one takes that first bite of an NFL stadium 4 dollar hot dog.

What is everyones opinion of home schooling?

The Berean stores have excellent home schooling kits. Call them. http://www.berean.com/books.asp?mymode=1&a...p;catname=Books But to home school, you or your wife must be home to give the instruction. I would not be concerned about your wife's education. She is an adult and mother of her child. But you simply cannot home school if you also want others to tutor...if you or wife won't be there instructing the child, it goes against the main idea. Home schooling is anything but convenient, and to do it properly, to teach your child well and effectively, a parent has to commit to the job, full-time. There is no other possibility. EDIT: after reading subsequent posts - seems that "shared" home schooling exists, and works. I apologize, John, for shooting off my mouth. -

No...you picked out what you liked by quoting a selected, truncated version of my post, and then sought to assuage me by saying "I agree with your gist". Nice try, but no soap. -
2 rookies, and a 366 lb RT moving over to LT. What's not to like?

Ham: Pro football is a 4 act play that has been playing for over a hundred years. Everything that essentially needed to be written about it has been written before anyone here was born. We all know that. We know it's show biz. Like the movies, plays, fiction - Man against Himself, Man against other Men, God against Man, Man against Nature, Man against God - the 5 plots. Football is enjoyable to watch. It's enjoyable to discuss this or that, and not delve deep into hardened absolutes. A team has 53 members and to predict how 53 people act or fail to act over 60 minutes is quite the task. You, I, countless others could write a cold, clinical article about any football game played. Thud. The opinions, the observations - outlandish, cynical, prescient, flippant - all welcome. Certainly there are flippant sports reporters. And those that work hard and long to get some info, all the time having to dance on the reporter's tightrope...become a toady for access and get fed the line?, try to get the trust to be able to report facts and still maintain a working relationship? Us fans: Consider the boiled stadium hot dog. Pretty low on the cuisine chain. Stadium food. Certainly not anybody's idea of value, by a long stretch. Dry popcorn. Commodity beer. All at wildly inflated cost. But somehow, very satisfying. Logic says no. The moment says yes. Folks have communal spirit about sports. That's a good thing...it's taken quite a beating elsewhere through the years. I don't see much gain in parsing sports columnists, reporters, pundits, down to the atomic level. They peddle their wares, as we all do, and we can all read and enjoy or reject. Don't parse and judge them so much. It's just chit-chat, this or that, about something that we have interest in and extract enjoyment from. -
