  1. See the Bills' history of spending draft picks on OLs for the last decade...
  2. Player-for-player trades being very rare in the NFL, would you like Reed to be traded to MIA for some future consideration? My guess is that Penny would be pleased.
  3. Yep. He played in 11 games, 1 start, 10 catches total, no more than 1 catch per game. 2 td catches, 1 in a loss and 1 in a win. SJ is what he is, an inexperienced player. Cashiering out Reed make no sense.
  4. It is. I'd like to see a DL tackles prediction, not just sacks.
  5. Selling a product to someone = commerce. Celebrities may not like paparazzi - and they can and do sue them, and the media they sell to. But they also like publicity. If I take a picture of you, and sell it to someone else without either your permission or payment to you, you can sue me. No need to get into fine points; few have sued over snapshots. But if you sell it for profit, I believe it is actionable. Also consider the NFL threatening suit against organizations like churches for showing their games. I don't think they were charging for attendance (non-commercial usage). But there it is. NFL owns the images and demands payment whether or not a profit was realized by the user.
  6. ...long ago, in a galaxy far away...
  7. Any possibility of you ever publishing a Black trash thread, GBID?
  8. And they can stand out in the open for hours and be used the next day...
  9. Any chance that they are carpenter bees? http://doyourownpestcontrol.com/carpenter_bees.htm The old method of eradication was to nail up a paint can with soapy water in it, beneath the hole. They would drop down and the soap would wet out their wings and that was the end.

  11. FWIW, there's been a couple of recalls of wall brackets...some CC and Best Buy branded items.
  12. And base wages for waitresses rise today. The waitress makes much more that the bus boy. A waitress that can't garner 3 bucks in tips in an hour is either a screaming POS with the public, or needs to get a better gig. What a hard job...take an order, bring it to a table, then ask before a bite is taken...is it OK? Or don't bother to write and order down, have the cheek to tell one their 1st name and tell you how they will be your server. When they FU, they will blame others - possibly you, the paying customer. If you resist the extortion, next time you may experience delays or body fuids being deposited on that meal you pay for. I have worked as a bus boy. The wait staff got free food; I got told to go and scrub something. And hiding income is Waitress 101...the popular opinion, echoed by politicians seeking votes, is that waitresses are so, so downtrodden. You may well get free phone and cable service, free heat, free care for you kids (an unmarried female with court-ordered custody being the basic family unit these days), possible Section 8 housing - that's capped at 30% of your reported income. Become a waitress, Ray. I have seen the so-called downtrodden waitresses exchanging 50, a hundred, two hundred one dollar bills for 20's in bars. All my life.
  13. You don't seem to know much about the man. He is the epitome of a team player. A 7th round pick in 2001 that worked hard to be a tough, reliable pass catcher that saves a qbs' bacon game after game. He makes a quip about a stupid computer game and the Lollipop Guild tries to hang him. Amazing...
  14. I wouldn't care to burden a line with a couple of rookies with anything but an occasional no-huddle. It's useful if you think you can catch a defense in transition. Every team does it from time to time, rookies or not. If you want to run it with a degree of regularity, you better be pumping up those big bodies with banned substances if you try to cheat the play clock. And if you fail, you end up having your D spending more time on the field and wearing down. Seems to me that this is just another pre-season hype by the marketing arm of a front office. Reminds me of the "keep the offense under wraps in the preseason" stuff that we hear from time to time. Football is like a four act play that's been running for over a hundred years. Everybody has seen everything ever, over and over again for decades and decades etc. Job#1...move the sticks. I'm all for quick snaps when the line puts knuckles on turf, trap run plays to ring the bells of interior rushers, then a quick FB plunge up the heart after these DTs are suffering from ear bleeds. I'm not letting pass-rushing or run DEs dictate to me. When I run wide, I pull guards, have the C tie up or flatten 1 defender, and will try to bring the beef to toss any DE up into the cheap seats. My rb better follow the blocks or he is gone. He can go and get his highlight films with some other club.
  15. I've found that "fair use" is a moving target, so to speak. I generally use what I was told in college - 150 words or less, with unambiguous crediting to the author and publisher, where to find the complete text, and these days, posting the internet link. I generally excerpt, that is, separately quote this or that portion of a publication that is of import or interest, to encourage folks to click on the citation. I, as you seem to imply, see benefit to the author/publisher in disseminating their work. I admit dismay over the court decision of several years ago that allowed for the copyrighting of slogans. I took that as a bite into free usage of the English language. Sad news: The Ann Arbor News "downsized" today, going on-line with a 2 day per week printing. The beat goes on..or perhaps off, would be a better description.
  16. A jell-O?
  17. Thanks - great post! Hockey players without helmets, nice still of Randy Smith and Jack Ramsey. I was a big hockey Bison fan. Newsies would come in and hawk the bulldog edition of the Courier-Express throughout the stands.
  18. He did in great part - a botched surgery for something else nicked his vocal cords or their nerves - I forget what it was. But fortunately, he has reasonably recovered.
  19. Profiling? Please. If you call the police about a potential crime being committed, you are obligated to give a description - and skin color is part of that. Same as height, weight, clothing etc. What would you have the caller say? A biped seems to be forcing a door?
  20. I see it now - by watching the yardage markers as you suggessted. Seems for some reason, there were "extra" lines on the field. Thanks!
  21. I wouldn't read too much into it. He's a very intelligent man, who often was on local sports radio shows here in CIN. Very insightful fellow. IIRC last season he was close to, or was the leader in wr 3rd down conversions despite CIN's qb and ol injury woes.
  22. In a recent crossword I did, the answer to "obsolete piece of jewelry" was "nose ring". Times change... Pierced ears are the ancient sign of a person in slavery.
