  1. I think features like heating are getting pruned back due to cost overruns.
  2. UB football and Lancaster High School product signs a deal with the Bills. What an achievement for any player to sign an NFL contract, but for a kid who grew up cheering for the Bills and got noticed playing for a poor UB program anyway. Signed off a tryout! Pure heart and guts got him here, even if he doesn't get further than this.
  3. At my age?
  4. I suspect the secrecy is more about not being locked in promising certain features if they decide to skip them to cut cost. Like heated seats. That survey indicated there would be heated seats in non-club sections. I suspect that isn't the case anymore.
  5. I've got a busy couple of months coming up. Starting with Martin Barre of Jethro Tull Saturday, Jon Anderson of Yes in June, The Hives in September, King Crimson BEAT with Adrian Belew in October and Fontaines DC in October.
  6. Rochester Americans Game 5 tonight against Syracuse. Winner advances. Blue Cross Arena sold out (10K)
  7. Birmingham is a slightly larger metro than Buffalo, believe it or not. (#47 vs #50) And they were pretty successful in the USFL. I don't know why their attendance is so far off this year. They are undefeated. 🤷‍♂️ As for the Destroyers they were the worst Arena team ever. Hard to support a team that won one game in two years. (Plus Arena football is just stupid.) It's a good idea but the NFL doesn't want the potential liability from CTE suits from another league.
  8. You're in Ohio. I think their "Super Bowl" is played in Canton. How do you think the UFL would do in Buffalo? Cheap tickets and a chance to tailgate more?
  9. Hartford is kind of a rough town actually. Going to hockey or baseball games is fine but there isn't much else happening downtown. A little advice about getting pizza in New Haven. If you don't place an order in the morning or day before at one of the famous places (Frank Pepe, Sally's, Modern, Zuppardi) you're not getting pizza. They are that busy now.
  10. They can barely afford operating 8 teams. Also these 8 cities were the more successful ones from the old XFL and USFL. Just so you know, all 8 teams are based on Arlington TX. They fly out to whatever cities to play games. They won't expand until the current league gets some traction in ratings and gate. Here are the daily sports ratings. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/category/ratings/
  11. 3 days of music showcases. https://www.ticketsignup.io/TicketEvent/NONCOMM2024/Page/MeetingSchedule https://xpn.org/non-comm-virtual/
  12. Twitter wouldn't let me embed this so I took a screen grab. Interesting he said he's "coming home" when home is NYC. 🤔 Whatever. He's a Bull now.
  13. Mahomes was trying a new passing drill, throwing balls into F1 cars as they go by.
  14. 5 FGs today including a 60 yarder, 49 yarder and a game-winning 42 yarder with no time left. The legend of Jake bates grows.
  15. From my days of dropping quarters into machines at Hungry Charlies on Marshall St. 1) Space Invaders (the one that started it all.) 2) Pac Man 3) Asteroids 4) Missile Command
  16. Not the NHL playoffs but notable. The Rochester Americans, the Sabres AHL club, down 3-0 in the 3rd period of an elimination game, scored 3 to tie, then won it in overtime to force the deciding game 5 in Rochester Friday.
  17. I finally heard back from my Legends rep. She said the non-club 200's folks will likely get their calls toward the end of 2024, after the lower bowl folks are done. (I assume 300's will be last to get called.) I also asked her about non-club seats with heat, and her answer was a bit vague, but sounded like she was saying only club seats are getting heat.
  18. That's a shame but I don't think many folks were planning a long stay. Totality was a 140 mile drive from my house. I packed food and drink, got to Lyndon, Vermont, saw the eclipse and got in my car and left the second it was over. Smart move too. Authorities were asking people to not leave right away? Lol, those folks got back to Boston at 4am. I was home by 6pm beating the rush.
  19. Sorry. I was at the Bills-Pats -5 playoff game and I'll never do that again, despite the outcome.
  20. A good number lived close enough to change plans when the weather forecast came out. I think they all went to Northern New England where it was sunny. Some people didn't get home for 12 hours.
  21. It was great then but stadium design has advanced since. Why it never occurred to anyone that concourses shouldn't be open to see the game is wild. Seems obvious.
  22. This is Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Capacity 6500 but can hold 9000 with standing room. There's the Sam Adams Club in left field where you can have dinner while watching the game. And there's a Hilton Garden Hotel in center field with its own patio restaurant. https://www.stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/northeast-delta-dental-stadium-s273
