  1. Don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled the Texans did this for the Bills. But wow, did they bend over for their new prize WR. I hope he's worth it. One thing about divas, the more you give in to them, the more they will demand because they see you're afraid to say no.
  2. He did what? McDermott did that. Whaley was kept around because he had all the scouting for the upcoming draft. You don't get rid of any GM before a draft.
  3. Buffalo definitely punches above its weight with NFL and NHL teams, and even an NLL lacrosse team. For an official metro population of 1.2 million (1.7 mil maybe if you add the Canadian population near the border) it's unheard of. Then add in the lack of major corporations to buy suites.
  4. He gets a "pass" because he's the best Bills GM since 90's Bill Polian. The fact that he drafted several players that did not become all pros just ruins it for me.
  5. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/why-did-texans-reduce-stefon-diggss-contract-from-four-years-to-one This has to be the dumbest reason, if true, for the Texans voiding Diggs final 3 contract years, saying... "They want the best possible version of Diggs. They want none of the little things the Bills tolerated until it became one big thing." So they are basically saying Diggs is a diva and they don't want to upset "his highness." Good luck.
  6. True. We were in line for the expansion team that became the Expos if we had a stadium. This was to be multipurpose.
  7. I've seen people falling over rows of seats in the clubs because they were totally blotto.
  8. I don't because of the way he carried himself these last two years, the cryptic nonsense. The Texans better stay on his good side.
  9. The Bills pursued him when he was a college FA in 2015. Chose Dallas. But they all end up here eventually.
  10. The thing is Buffalo was that close to creating a "Patriot Place" decades before the idea ever dawned on Robert Kraft. This was supposed to include a hotel and retail development. Who knows what the team's fortunes would have been playing in a dome since 1972? It would have been that much closer to Rochester as well.
  11. "40 years ago this week: One of the lengthiest trials in the history of Western New York was underway in New York State Supreme Court. It involved the proposed dome stadium in Lancaster which was supposed to serve as a new home for the Buffalo Bills. In 1969, Erie County agreed in principle with developer Edward Cottrell to build the indoor, multi use stadium along with a theme park and hotel complex on land bounded by Genesee St., Harris Hill Rd., Walden Ave., and Story Rd. However, as cost estimates for the project rose, the county shifted gears and decided on an open air stadium in Orchard Park for about one-third of the cost of the dome stadium complex. Cottrell sued for breach of contract, seeking more than $400 million in damages,. and setting off a near two decade long legal battle. After it took 14 years for the case to get to trial, the trial itself lasted 42 weeks and concluded with Cottrell being awarded $53 million. However, after another five years of appeals, the county finally paid Cottrell $10 million, concluding the case after 19 years." What could have been.
  12. Assuming a team would wait to make that trade. How easy do you think it is trading a massive salary? The Texans might have gotten a rookie WR in the draft and said "never mind." The NFL is not obligated to do things when it suits you.
  13. It's called making deals from a disadvantage. Josh Allen is just a passenger on the Milano train. 🤔
  14. Wasn't that extension more for creating cap space? It's also pretty disingenuous to call a lack of ESP being a bad GM.
  15. WTF. After all we heard about cap hits etc? I guess whenever there's smoke there is fire, huh?
  16. It's the whole selling point of the league. They want their players to move up.
  17. The difference between the CFL and UFL is players can't get out of CFL contracts to go to the NFL, while all UFL contracts are just one season long.
  18. Totality in Vermont is a two hour drive from me. I'm going to wait to see 1) is it a clear sky, and 2) what's traffic looking like.
  19. I cleaned it up. That's what happens when you post from your phone with a lousy connection.
  20. Often teamed up with John Candy on skits like Schmenge Brothers and Count Floyd.
  21. Is it too soon for this?
