and the Layoffs begin @ Pegula Sports

Golisano wanted out. He would have sold the Sabres to someone. Tom said he'd only sell to an owner who's keep the team in Buffalo but for how long? Unlike the NFL, the NHL loves Buffalo. We are the league's biggest TV ratings market. They don't want to see us go. -
Hardly. Is March Madness "diluted" because a champion emerges from a 68 team field? Major college football has always been a beauty contest. It ought to be won on the field from a schedule NOT of your choosing. If I ran things I would include every FBS conference champion in a playoff because every school ought to start the year with a path to the national championship, like in basketball.

People have short memories. I buy Kirby's take. The Pegulas are likely not the sharpest sports executives but I think they are committed to the city and making these teams winners. They whiffed with the Bills before striking on McBeane. I'm hoping they will get the Sabres right eventually. -

Because he was being labeled a "meddling owner." You can't win. From one reporter in particular. -

I disagree. Terry loves hockey and the Sabres. The problem is his moves have not panned out. They didn't do so well on the Bills either until they hit on McDermott. I have wondered what this does to any new stadium plans? There is no way the league could force them to build a billion dollar facility. They might extend the lease at NewEra Field another 10 years. Good news for @Hammered a Lot. -

I woudn't call it a gutting. Getting suggests they sold off assets. Terry and Kim spent plenty of money... unfortunately on the wrong regimes. But it does remind me how back in 2014 when people were lauding them for saving the Bills, I assumed they would become the most hated people in town within two years. -

Yeah. Ticketmaster has already announced they won't give refunds. Bastages. I bought a lot of concert tickets this summer. -
FCS starts with 24 teams. D2 has 28. D3 has 32.

It's was a dump. Beloved, but a dump.

I went a few times. My first Bills game was the '69 season opener against the SB champion Jets and Joe Namath. I walked from my house near Broadway Market with my sister. It was like a parade as we got closer. Some cars were parked on tiny lawns. I remember the melee in the end zone on every FG and XP. That was before nets so kids were fighting over the free footballs. Of course you know that's where the filmed "The Natural" with Robert Redford? I had a flashback a few years ago when a buddy and me went to Hamilton for a Ti-Cats game at the old Ivor Wynn Stadium. Looked and felt the same.

If FCS, D2 and D3 can manage a real playoff, FBS can too.

Great question. My guess is if the league does not play a game in a 2020 season, that does NOT count as a contract year. Then again everything in the NFL is tied to the "league year" and we are in the 2020 league year now. -

Hoo boy, you know some people won't get vaccinated. -
I don't think it would be any good. See if your local fine liquor establishment has some. I'll bet there's at least one brand available. There is a local distiller named Djinn that makes an excellent krupnick they distribute.
-
It's pretty good stuff in a shot. Buffalo Distillery makes they're own brand of krupnick. Here's a cocktail made with it, a muddled blackberry and a splash of seltzer.
-
In honor of Dyngus Day I will down shots of krupnick while standing in the shower and whipping myself with pussywillows.
