  1. Kyle is 10th with one round to go. He's 17 points behind leader John Smoltz. McDermott is just 85 points off the lead so there is a chance. https://americancenturychampionship.com/
  2. I realize now Randy Smith was from Long Island. But he went from D3 Buff State to the NBA. He was also a soccer stud.
  3. I bet you could walk up to a random student on campus and offer $25-$50 for the privilege. You need their school email and date of birth.
  4. I thought this was a given ,but it's now official. https://buffalonews.com/sports/college/ub-will-return-fans-to-the-stands-for-football-fall-sports/article_433b8bb0-e036-11eb-a459-eb1f18bb6346.html
  5. For Buffalo natives: Baseball: Warren Spann Hockey: Pat Kane Basketball: Randy Smith Football: Gronk
  6. Damn, how could I forget the Venture Bros? Absolutely #1.
  7. Take a step behind Space Ghost Coast to Coast, please.
  8. Find an active college student and have them sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket-U. $99 for the season.
  9. Okay, a socialist democracy. We have public works, public schools, roads and highways, power grids, etc. Rugged individualists don't build those. Government does. There are social programs, Tax increment programs to encourage development. Good government balances free enterprise with the public good. You need both or society breaks down.
  10. It was a ploy. I don't think Hartford was ever seriously considered, despite going as far as saying they were moving. (If the Pats were really moving to Hartford the NY Giants and Jets would have had an issue.) But building new stadiums in Boston was broached before community opposition sank it. (Read that as Krafty Bob wouldn't pay off the right people. It's Bah-ston after all.)
  11. This is not true. America has plenty of socialism. Most of it going to the wealthy. (Remember the 2008 bailouts?)
  12. Boston Harbor near Southie. Red Sox even floated an idea for a new park there. NIMBYs killed that.
  13. This is why I ignore most of the stuff written between May and July. It's off-season filler. Articles meant to be read and forgotten immediately.
  14. The local Democratic party has its tit caught in the wringer with this mayoral race. Of course they have to show support for their primary winner. It doesn't mean they think she can win. Frankly I can't believe the GOP didn't at least nominate a warm body to run. This sets up the strangest election ever: a single unopposed candidate on the ballot with a four-term mayor running as a write in, plus who knows who else. Grab your popcorn.
  15. It's one thing winning a primary where 5% of people voted. It's another to win the general. I know the expectation is Dems are automatic in Buffalo but nothing is certain this year. I don't believe Walton has that much support beyond her fringy base.
  16. The West side isn't the basket case you say. It's rapidly being gentrified. Any bad neighborhoods are next on the list. East side, especially Fillmore and Bailey aves, is still a mess. But all cities have their poorer sections.
  17. How do other larger cities manage to have a stadium downtown without tying themselves into knots?
