  1. Prove it wasn't the same bear.
  2. There's definitely like 10X more media covering the NFL these days, but the big guys are still the same. The SB era Bills were given their due but there was also some disrespect. Every year we got to the Super Bowl again there was a lot of "Oh no, not these guys again!" I'd say there is more respect and consensus on the Bills being great now than back then.
  3. My wife launched her own Twitch channel starring the birds in our backyard. This is live most days from 9am to 5pm. https://twitch.tv/apljacker Feel free to give her a follow. She needs to hit 50 to achieve status.
  4. I saw a bear cross the intersection near where I work today in broad daylight. Looked just like that one.
  5. My boss the Pats season ticket holder was telling me today how he thinks the Bills are going to mop the league with Josh Allen. What a change going into a season knowing the Bills are one of the 2-3 Super Bowl favorites. Even in the early 90's Kelly Super Bowl teams the media never fawned over the Bills like they do now. I dare say we are entering the greatest era of the Bills. Not exaggerating.
  6. I don't get why folks don't see that. The NFL only pays lip service to tradition as a marketing tool. If the state/county pay the "ransom" I'm sure the Bills stay. But it will always be that way, every few years.
  7. Can it not be financed like a mortgage? Sell some bonds, rooms and meals taxes, the dreaded PSLs. Someone get creative.
  8. They will, without losing a night's sleep. I think they need to take a long look and see if they could creatively spread the pain of a $1B over 30 years. Rooms & meals tax earmarked for a stadium? (Sorry but) PSLs? Sell bonds? You don't have to spend a ton of money to make a new stadium with a lot of revenue opportunities. It calls for forward thinking and design. And lastly, better get used to paying more for tickets. Buffalo is $30 under then next lowest average. The league will not tolerate this unless they close the gap some.
  9. The point is the NFL is driven by the almighty buck and Buffalo as a market lacks the basis for selling lots of luxury box and high end seating. The only way it works for the NFL is if the team doesn't carry the debt. Everyone points at other owners covering some or all of the cost. But that's because those owners feel they will make it back. You can't make it back here. Don't forget as long as the border stays closed, both the Bills and Sabres are losing potential fans. They will need to get really creative.
  10. This really spells out what Buffalo is up against. Bottom line: Buffalo is a poor market. https://e-edition.buffalonews.com?selDate=20210808&goTo=A01&artid=2
  11. You never know but they seem on top of things. Good sign.
  12. I'm betting on the Sabres having a similar emergence from the pit of hockey despair with the team of GM Kevyn Adams and HC Don Granato. Will "Granadams" be the new McBeane?
  13. I put that lack of faith in Josh Allen to practical use last year with my Draft Kings betting app. Thanks to NH finally allowing legal sports wagering. Since betting lines are based on what bettors think, the Bills and individual Bills players were constantly undervalued, which offered some amazing no-brainer bets that paid off consistently.
  14. I've been on TBD since '98. This is the first marriage thread about a player I've ever seen.
  15. We just signed a near quarter-billion dollar deal with our QB. Where does that money come from? The NFL is an expensive club.
  16. Consider the value having Josh on the Bills brings to the Pegulas.
  17. Did it suck? Yes. Is this better? Yes
  18. I just remembered this was on. A real barn burner! What'd I miss? "So I told 'em to say they're moving to Austin and people sh## themselves!"
  19. $10 UB ticket flash sale today (8/5/21) until 10pm. http://secure.campaigner.com/csb/Public/show/duzr-2ffqzr--vq3lo-88ku2e94
  20. http://secure.campaigner.com/csb/Public/show/duzr-2ffqzr--vq3lo-88ku2e94 Oct 2 and Oct 30 line up with Bills football weekends. Why not add a second day of football and tailgating? Parking at UB games is free.
  21. With only one game this year, against an attractive opponent, it should be a great atmosphere. Traditionally the 3rd game is the best one for seeing starters. But not sure how that plays out this year with only 3 games.
  22. Are they keeping last year's expanded PS due to COVID? Are they allowing veterans to be put on PS? Or are we going back to the old 10 spots and no players with more than 3 years experience?
