Could more players end up going to the XFL or USFL for development?

Any good player UB had is running for the exit. This isn't going to affect the elite programs as much, but hundreds of other programs won't be able to build anything from year to year. Every good player will want to move up. Every depth player will want to start somewhere. It will be like shuffling a deck every year with no idea what you end up with. And fans of these schools and the boosters will start to lose interest. It's bad enough when the coaches take off and take your best players with them.

He was a 1st round pick that underperformed in St. Louis. Tage was second to the 1st rd pick in that ROR trade.

Or...we just boat race teams every night! I have watched every minute of every game since Granato took over and I love what he's doing with the Sabres. They are a fun team to watch and root for. Yes, they have issues with defense and goaltending. But stop for a minute and consider what they've done since head coach Darth Krueger was fired. They literally replaced "generational talent" Jack Eichel with a guy who was on the team all along and no one gave two thoughts about. A guy who was a throw-in on a bad trade.

That was thanks to the 8-game losing streak, that also corresponded with D Mattias Samuelsson getting injured. There's still 56 games left and they are just 6 points out of a wild card berth.

Of course we are. Storyline! Will be 99% GaSo fans since you need a mule team to get there from WNY. And now there are rumors that Linguist is on Cincinnati's radar. Hard to believe anyone would want him, but good for him if he can get a bigger job after this clown show UB season. BTW AD Mark Alnutt extended Linguist's contract at the start of the year that included a big increase in his buyout.
