Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

It took forever before too. That's why I don't park in large lots Only small lots past the crush of traffic. -

It's definitely more expensive. But a disaster? Where I park it's no worse than before. Just costs more. -

Do they need it? No. We are managing now. -

I've never done hallucinogenics but smoked weed on and off since school. It hits everyone differently. Some people get paranoid, some laugh at everything, in my case it fostered creativity. I've come up with various ideas and solutions to problems while high. -

I think it was someone from the Bills a few years ago on WGR saying why they don't get more stadium concerts -

Gillette Stadium is built the same way. You feel like you're getting an aerial view from the upper deck. -

Buffalo itself is small but there are 6-10 million within a 3 hour drive. The show creates it's own market. (You think people would stay away from a Taylor Swift show in Buffalo?) The issue has always been the venue. Big tour shows often have two identical stage sets and they want those sets put up, torn down and moved on quickly. Having one field level driveway is a killer. -

I'm sure it wasn't a problem. But the old stadium has only one way or out of field level, making it hard for big shows that "hopscotch" two stages to set up and tear down quickly. -
Enjoy the 10-game win streak to finish the season.

Can anyone explain why the Houston player didn't try up pick up the loose ball at the end?

UB ladies basketball “title run”
PromoTheRobot replied to AlCowlingsTaxiService's topic in Off the Wall
I thought being a 30-win team would earn you a few votes. There are only 7 D1 teams with 30 or more wins. And rankings are never that precise anyway. -

UB ladies basketball “title run”
PromoTheRobot replied to AlCowlingsTaxiService's topic in Off the Wall
Why are they behind the worst team in the NCAA? They won 30 games this year. Plus a post season tournament. Wouldn't that put them somewhere in the Top 25? UB games are a bargain. If you bought them on the phone from the Athletic office, you'd only play $10 each. And parking is free! Except the portal usually means your team will be totally different next year. I'm holding my breath to see what happens to this team. Does coach Becky Burke leave for a power conference, like Nate Oats did? How many players get poached? -

Here's how I look at it. The Bills went 17 years without a playoff game. And no one thought they were making the playoffs when they finally did.

About four hours, it's a pub crawl with food at some of Buffalo's family taverns. http://www.forgottenbuffalo.com/

My old boss had a saying: "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered." The NFL sure is convinced their gravy train can never derail. But what about the rest of the economy? -

I'm an alum and follow the Bulls. ESPN+ gets you all the games. This season for the women has been amazing. 29 wins ties their record. Chelia Watson and Nolani Cornfield are two of the most exciting players to watch. This title game, played at UB Saturday at 5, is the deepest postseason run for any local school since Bona with Bob Lanier made the NCAA final four in 1970. As for football, that actually makes money and funds the other non-revenue programs. Unless UB basketball could get into a major conference like the Big East, losing football would be suicide. Don't forget UB earns a million or more playing power conference teams. This year they open at Minnesota. But there's no reason why local folks can't pass the hat and fund the women's program. Women's basketball at UB has been very good for a long time with Becky Burke and Felicia Legette-Jack before her. You can have a nationally ranked program for less than what a men's program would take. If you live in WNY consider going to the game. Saturday 5pm at Alumni Arena. Tickets are cheap and parking is free. Otherwise the game will be televised in CBS Sports Network. -
Bills push to host a future NFL Draft.

Figure that a good percentage of folks, 40-50%, will drive in and drive out the same day. Most people only come out for the 1st round. I'm more worried about parking and traffic control. The area is a zoo on game days with only 71,000 attending. What happens when it's 4X that number? They better come up with a satellite parking plan with shuttle buses. Heck, there's a rarely used rail line nearby. -
UB women made the WNHIT final vs Troy. Playing at UB Saturday. If you live around Buffalo you should go.

ECC is downsizing. Closing the South campus has been suggested. Bills could certainly use the land. I never said 12 restaurants. Just two sit downs, maybe some walk ups, have a food truck area on game days. -

You're going to tear down the old stadium, plus there's talk of eliminating ECC South. That's more than enough room for extra parking and a small-ish "Patriot Place" development. Two hotels, a couple of restaurants, a music venue and you really have something.
